Robert Downey Jr True Height - 7th February

I originally had Robert Downey Junior as 5ft 8 and a reader refreshed my memory today that Downey Jr had his mugshot taken a while ago against a police wall mark. In it he's standing pretty tall, but has his hair brushed back. The red line I've drawn on the mugshot indicates the top of his skull with shoes on is around 5ft 9 (don't be fooled by that hair, it's an old trick that made guys like Bon Jovi and Mr T look bigger), so take off a standard 1 inch for any shoes and he does indeed look to be 5ft 8. His other Palm Springs mugshot case sheet does also list his height as 5ft 9, but the wall marking shot kind of makes it obvious. If you then look at a scene in Air America, a full view of both Downey and Gibson walking along a runway, Gibson is a max 2 inches taller, and I have him at 177cm.
