Godzilla Height - 50m (164 feet)
Originally in the 1950's Godzilla, the King of the Monsters was described as standing a majestic 50m tall. Through the ages his height has increased, right up to standing a staggering 100m. Whatever big G has been eating to make him grow that tall, gimme some of that!

King Kong Height - 15m (50 feet)
From the 1933 movie, Kong's height on posters was described as a towering 50 feet high...that's equivalent to about 8 Arnold Schwarzeneggers stacked on top of each other! In the movie though King Kong didn't look that big compared to human's and perhaps stood no more than about 20 feet. If you stacked Arnie, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt together, they'd barely even reach past Kong's nose.

Frankenstein Height - 2.44m (8 feet)
In Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein's Monster was described as standing a mighty 8 foot tall. In the 1931 movie, Boris Karloff played the monster, and he was publicised as standing a meagre 6 feet tall, although he may well have been more 5ft 11. With the aid of some thick munster boots and a bit of makeup, the Karloff creation might have measured in at 6ft 3-4 range.

Predator Height - 7ft 6 (2.29m)
From the original 1987 Arnie movie, the Predator was a fiersome creature. Originally Jean Claude Van Damme was in line to play the creature, but the thought of a 5ft 9 Predator gladly never happened. Instead, Kevin Peter Hall, a 7ft 1-2 tall actor played the role. In costume the Predator would have stood nearly 7 and a half foot tall, a mammoth sized monster.

How tall is the Alien? @Rob
[Editor Rob: Leonardo, it definitely varies in height, would be hard to measure such a creature!]

Godzilla's height differs. Until 1989, he was always around 50 m tall, then 100, from 2000 to 2003 again 50 and then 2004 100 m

Godzilla 2014 is 355ft 108.2m

And the new japanese Godzilla 2016 is said to be the tallest ever.

Rob, Godzilla is 164 foot tall? he looks taller.
[Editor Rob: the new Godzilla looks pretty big, I think the American one has grew in size!]

I think 20 feet should be listed as Kong's main height, rather than being regulated to a note. Film > poster. He's really not all that big.

On the other hand, in King Kong vs Godzilla, he grows to Godzilla's height.

Hey Rob can i ask you a favor if you have the time of course.could you do the heights estimations of the characters of "fairy tail" especially Lucy, the author did a "height comparison chart" but didn't give numbers (i only know that Natsu is around 173cm). Please.please.

I can't see Frankenstine at more then 5'7" MAX. I met him at a Tim Hortons in Toronto and he is atleast 6 feet shorter then me. A downgrade is in order, Rob. 169cm is bang on IMO.

King Kong kinda shrunk with each movie IMO. In the 1930's version he looked like he could have been well over 30 meters tall. in the 1970's version he looked about maybe 20? And I really don't think he was over 8m tall in the 2005 version.
Ras said on 10/Aug/13
Lol, Rob you should add a fictional characters' page too. Let people know how tall are comic book superheroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, Hulk, and da juggahnaut!

This is awesome thanks for posting it!!

You may be right about King Kong being closer to 20ft by the way - I read somewhere that the script and production scaled the monster to be around 25ft high and the 50 ft billing came just to advertise the film

Now I'm huge Godzilla fan so I'm going to nerd out on you - he was 50m tall until the 1984 Godzilla film (in the US released as "Godzilla 1985") where he was suddenly 80m. Then in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) his size was increased to 100m (328ft) and he's been that height ever since.
[Editor Rob: I wonder how big godzilla will be when the next Hollywood movie is released! You never know, he may have gained more height :)]

The infamous four letter site states the average height of the actors who portray the predators in the Predators (2010) film is 6'6.5 how accurate this is is questionable since they'd use their own heights to calculate that. Rob's heights for the same actors could be different. :)

Ha ha! This page is epic! Rob, you should add a Cloverfield height too!
[Editor Rob: that monster must be over 100m, would be a good scrap with cloverfield vs godzilla!]
Connor 183cm said on 29/Jan/13
Rob first to comment in the aliens vs predator films the actors who played as the predators were they all over 7ft or is it just camera angles or large heels?
[Editor Rob: one of the guys I met (Ian Whyte) played a predator in those films, he's a good 7ft 1, I'm sure a few of the others were very tall aswell.]
