About 18 months ago I got to 14st, and at 5ft 10in that's not a great weight. So I cut down on carbs and increased my exercise. I lost more than 20lb and was 12st 8lb and felt ten years younger. But my weight's crept back up a few pounds. Ideally, I'd like to be 12st.

Its hard to tell some ones height when they have a terrible barber. And look like the drummer out of the muppet show in the early 1980s. But alan does look at least 5'10"05 to 5'11" so a will give him the full 5'11" just out of bed.

Well he's claimed 'about 5ft11' as well
Editor Rob
which I think matches up with the more specific 5ft 10.5

5ft10ΒΎ, Rob?

he came out with the 5ft 10.5 figure which looks fair for him, I think honest enough claim.

I think his latter claim is more like it

very similar claims to Mick Hucknall.

🐢 I'm so happy to say that the vets have found the reason behind the chocolate Labrador's drastic weight-loss. The dog has developed diabetes, and now with daily insulin, she'll be able to make a full recovery. Isn't that wonderful? πŸΆπŸ‘ŒπŸ˜πŸ‘

I'm watching Alan in his lovely programme 'The Dog Rescuers' again. He's been talking to a dog named Hazel and speaking in a high pitched voice. I thought, "Ah! Good for you, Alan!"

Now the programme is following up a call about a drastically underweight dog, who sadly gave birth to a litter of stillborns. I think the weight came off afterwards, through grief. Animals have feelings too, of course. πŸΆπŸ‘πŸ˜Ώ

It's just occurred to me how splendid it must be for these hard-working devotees who spend their lives looking after sick animals, all too often taking no payment, to suddenly meet a big animal-loving star, like Alan and Paul O'Grady, as part of their daily grind. I think it must really cheer them up, and they SO deserve that! 😘

Alan looks a good, strong 5ft11, as indeed he did in the episode of 'Lewis' I watched the other afternoon. πŸ˜„πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

Usually I watch Alan on 'QI', laughing himself silly, but today, I've seen a completely different side to him. He's narrating a programme called 'The Dog Rescuers', and there are so many heartbreaking stories. I've never seen it before, but it's well worth checking out because of the lovely endings.

Unlike on 'QI', we can see Alan standing up, and he really looks quite tall. I have no hesitation in putting 5ft11 in his box. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΆ

Tonight on QI on the 'Dave' Channel, Alan had the privilege to listening as Stephen Fry explained all about a particularly large leaf. He asked the four contestants, who were Alan, Sandi Toksvig, Jeremy Clarkson and Danny Baker, "What's the worst thing you can do with this leaf?"

There were a couple of guesses but nobody assumed the answer to be, as Stephen so delicately put it, "To wipe your bottom with it!"

He then went on to describe how one guy, possibly a soldier, was taken short and used one such leaf to prevent itchy @nus syndrome, but he got more than he bargained for after taking a random wipe on the wild side. The pain was so excruciating that he shot himself. Another incident involved someone using one of these leaves on his face, which blew up akin to the Elephant Man's. His reaction wasn't quite so drastic.

I must admit that I do love watching quizzes, but none are quite like QI. Tonight's winner was the one with the lowest score, which was MINUS twenty something!

Alan can have 5ft10.75 on this Friday night. πŸ˜†πŸ‘

Both he and Jesse Birdsall train at my gym and though Alan looks a bit taller than Jesse, there isn’t much in it. Alan looks approximately 5’9.5 to me

I have seen Alan more as a contestant on 'QI' than I have as an actor!

I thought that he could pass himself off as 5ft11+ at one time - until I saw him acting!

This time he gets 5ft10.75 again. There didn't seem much difference between him and Kevin Whately when I saw them together on 'Lewis'.

Lewis is finding Alan's character's pretentiousness extremely annoying!

"He he he he he!" said the Easter bunny to the Easter*
chick! 🐰πŸ₯

* Would you believe it? My autocorrect wanted to call her the EASY Easter chick!

I give him 5ft10.25!

I am watching Alan playing a deliberately nauseating quiz master in an episode of 'Lewis', and he doesn't look small in any way! He looks broad and fairly tall, so I'm going to ignore being influenced by the last two comments I just read by my friends Gladstone and MSJC and up Alan to 5ft10.75!
MSJC said on 26/Sep/17
I could see him as low as 5'9.5, maybe a solid a 5'10.5 in his younger years, 5'11 though? doubtful.

Bizzarely despite being in the north east of England i have seen Davies twice due to family living in London. First in Notting Hill and second in King's Cross station. What are the odds? Apparently high as i know several ppl who've also met him. This is the bare minimum i could imagine him as and he appears to stoop as he walks.
