The whole business of trying to stay thin all the time can drive us crazy. I used to look at my figure and think 'fat', yet I look at old pictures of myself and I was a lot thinner and lighter than today.
I was around 8st 10lb for my height of 5ft 8in and yet I was still being told by certain photographers that I should be thinner!
The trouble is that Hollywood and the modelling world are obsessed with weight and the victims are the girls who'll do anything to lose it.

Editor RobYes, they can be more prone to earlier losses and greater amounts by age 70.
A women in her 40's is more likelier to lose height than a man.
Once a man gets to his 50's, the odds start to increase some loss will start to occur, but I think that age of 60-65 is where a lot of men lose something noticeable like ½ or ¾ of an inch.

Danimal, are you going to do this on every page with a celebrity close to 60 or older? Andie being 59 doesn't mean she's lost as much as the average(from that one survey with 2000 people). My aunt was 5'4" peak and she's about half a decade older than Andie, yet she's still closer to 5'4" than 5'3" despite very small boned. Some people don't lose much, especially when they're not that old.

Like they must have been in one of highest grossing films of a given year, something like that. A friend of mine was working as a cop in the Bozeman, Montana airport about fifteen years ago and Ms. Macdowell needed a little help. My friend came to her assistance and said that there were two striking things about her: 1. she was taller than he expected (a legit five eight in flats) and 2. she was unbelievably beautiful in person. My friend, as macho a cop as you'll find, nearly swooned as she was speaking to him.

Its a tiny box on my computer like the old G photos at the moment. :-( Can you add Bad Girls, Michael, Short Cuts, The Muse and Monte Carlo (for the younger ones). At the moment it's her in the early 90s and Kathleen Turner in the 80s I have a big thing for!! Both the same height too..
