It is hard to judge height by comparing actors movies. Perkins to Cooper in Friendly Persuasion. Directors would shoot a shot with them together but in the fantasy world of movies it would be more pleasing to the audience to shoot so the Father looked taller than the son. The STAR would also be shot to appear taller in a scene optically more acceptable to the audience. Gonzalo says on 21/May/08

Perkins is clearly upgraded in this site. He was 1`85 max. He looked taller because he was very thin but there are many proofs of him being clearly shorter than 1`90 guys, such as Gary Cooper or Gregory Peck sam says on 6/Feb/08

I think this listing is accurate. Tony was very lean, which made him seem taller. In "Friendly Persuasion" he clearly shorter than Gary Cooper, and ol' Coop was BARELY 6' 3" (methinks slightly shorter). Gonzalo says on 26/Oct/07
He looked far from 6`2 next to Gary Cooper, who was 6`3 but over 50 years in the movie they did together. Take a look at this pic again

A little bit far from the camera but Perkins gives the impression of being much shorter than Cooper

Is it just me or does Perkins look closer to 6-4 in Psycho part 4? He sure looks taller than just 6-1 1/2 to me in that movie. sam says on 25/Oct/07
tony perkins looked 6'2 in psycho and continued to look this tall in other films throughout his life, interesting fellow. Unfortunetly he suffered from an illness later in life and didn't survive it. Well, wherever he is, he is still 6'2. Brad says on 15/Aug/06

In the movie ON THE BEACH, Perkins appeared an inch shorter than Gregory Peck in several scenes and perhaps as much as 3.5 cms (sorry about switching scales). He was a pretty "lanky" guy, so could appear taller. Frank2 says on 2/Mar/06
