Rob, I know it has been over seven years since I last posted about this, but I came back to say that at observing Carney and Gleason again that I think you're right. Gleason, if he stood straight up would be slightly taller than Carney. Gleason did exaggerate his height a bit. He claimed to be six feet tall in his youth, but at best he was five foot eleven and a half in shoes.

Stood next to Art Carney and his wife getting into an elevator at Resorts International in 1980 and he was small, Iā€™d guess .5ā€™8ā€. I was shocked at how little he was.

He always appeared a bit taller than Jackie Gleason on 'The Honeymooners.' Even when they had on similar footwear you could still see a small but consistent height difference between the two. If 'The Great One' at his prime was 5-10, then Art Carney had to be 5-10.5 at the very least. What do you think, Rob?

I would have said they were close enough, but Gleeson seemed a chap whose posture could go up and down.
