The UFC can get goofy with their heights, like Couture at 6'2, but Rothwell is all of 6'4 maybe slightly over that.

Was listed at 6'4" for his fight on the weekend and looked that height.

Rothwell fought terribly and will need to really improve his game fast otherwise he won't be fighting in the UFC much longer.

he actually is around 6'4 - 6'5.. he was about 1' taller than andrei arlovski in their fight.. and even though andrei was listed 190 (6'3) in his fights in russia before ufc etc.. he usually gets a 6'4 listing and looks it. so this guy could very well be a full 6'5.. making him one of the few guys not overlisted at all in mma :)

Look at the guys Fedor has fought lately, Lesnar would steamroll them just as impressively as Fedor did. Fedor VS Brock would be an amzing spectacle, we may never see it....but I wouldn't know who to bet on. That 50 pound weight advantage for Lesnar is too much to just overlook.

When he fought Hong Man Choi there was about 100 pound and 14 inch difference.

I'm more than 175 cm. I'm rarely below 176 cm. In that pic I was at least 177cm and have been as high as 178cm in the morning. BTW, I've dropped 64 pounds since that pic was taken last June.

The difference in punching power between most MMA fighters and boxing champions is vast. Boxers have a more compact and precise punch. 1988 Tyson with 4 oz gloves would not even need a head punch. He would be breaking ribs right and left. He could probably almost ko someone even while on his back. Lesnar showed extreme power can still trump MMA skills

Lesnar is a world class wrestler though and had been training in kixk boxing for 2 years before he stepped foot in the UFC.

Not to mention the fact that Fedor is 6'0'' 235lbs and would trump Lesnar without an issue.

Tyson doesn't stand a chance. PRIME boxers go into K1 and get smashed because they lack one area where kickboxers excell. PRIME kickboxers enter MMA and die because THEY lack another area where MMA fighters excell.

You honestly believe if Fedor was going up against Tyson he wouldn't devise a game plan to avoid and neutralize Tysons boxing? How retarded would you have to be to walk into a cage and try and bang with Tyson. Give these people some credit. Considering how high boxers keep their hands, they couldn't stop a takedown shot from the outside. Boxers aren't trained to defend or watch for leg kicks, or ANY kicks for that matter, so take one guess what happens when kicks are thrown at them. And don't think for one minute you can develop the instincts to defend against takedowns and kicks in a short period of time.

FYI about Lesnar. He lost to a sloppy knee bar, laid and prayed on a lethargic Heath Herring, and caught a 45 year old with an elbow. He did not prove anything in his 3 fights.

tall fighters DO have an advantage in standup fighting. but in mma height doesnt' matter that much as in boxing oder kickboxing, because on the ground and in the infight, the shorter guy has an advantage.
weight is more important, and i think it is VERY hard (nearly impossible) for an average guy (5'10 to 6') to get to 265 lbs and still be lean. i'm 6'4 220lbs and there are quite a few guys 5'11 who are my weight.
i do some boxing, and my opinion is that these guys hit harder than a 6'4 guy of the same weight simply because they have more muscle mass.
so height in boxing is important, but weight and reach are more important.
and for mma, most is about technique. look for fedor, wanderlei silva and shogun. all of them are under 6 feet, fedor maybe 6' but not taller.

Reach in an advantage in highly professional fights (I'm talking MMA, not boxing/kickboxing). Another advantage is natural weight (not fat or muscle that hinder movement) which gives stronger hitting power and easier ground game and also much better resistance, especially in the bones. Fedor is inhuman, but if you think Silva would last more than 60 secs against a prime Tyson you have never been in a fight. Remember that MMA's gloves offer almost no protection. A boxer like Tyson should not be allowed in the MMA. He is too dangerous. Only fat*sses like Botha and Mercer should be allowed.
Great Khali and Big Show are circus material. They don't stand a chance in professional fighting. 6'3 to 6'5 seems to be the perfect pro-fighter's height nowadays (that'll surely grow in the next decades).

It depends really. In an MMA fight Anderson Silva or Fedor Emelianko would handle prime Tyson with ease. In a stricktly kick-boxing match I think An early 20's Tyson would whoop anybody on the planet, ever.

Anybody right now, probably yes. I wouldn't be surprised if Lennox Lewis or even Ali would have KO'ed a prime Tyson, though a KO from Tyson would not have been shocking either. Tyson had trouble with tall fighters with a quick jab and reach advantage.

I'd put money on a prime Tyson knocking out 95% of these guys in a matter of minutes (after they first soil themselves). If they can somehow get him down to the ground and apply submission holds, etc., then it's a different story. Lewis did not have Tyson's aggression but most people don't realize how quick these boxers can throw punches. Lewis's 84 inch reach doesn't hurt either.

Ben has never fought in UFC, he has fought in IFL and smaller organizations and chuck and ken are not in his weight class, Many MMA fighter can beat him in heavyweight devision. He just lost a fight with Arlovski in Affliction promotion.

Roger, I just had a beer with Georges St. Pierre last night here in Montreal at the XMMA competition. I was a bit taller than him. No picture this time. It was TOO dark and he wasn't in the mood. Cool guy though. Will meet him again in Chicago pretty soon, as well as Matt Cera.

Guys, I'm not 6'1", or even 5'11". I have never been taller than 5'10" and last time I was a full 5'10" was in 2005 (27 years old). Today I am 5'9 3/4". YUP, I have lost 1/4" so far in my life and I am 30 going on 31 years old (next month). SO, what you are looking at in the above pic is me at 5'9 3/4" JUST measured by my friend and weighing in at around 200 pounds, being dwarfed by Ben Rothwell.

He is 6'5" and 265 pounds. His fists were larger than my head as you can see. Again, I was JUST measured at 5'9 3/4" only moments before meeting Ben and Frank Trigg. Ben could be 6'4 and change, but NO WAY shorter than that. He was HUGE next to my 200 pound frame.
