I met him back stage in 75 or 76 I remember he walked right past me to the limo. I would say he is under 5ft 8 and Geezer Butler is shorter than that.
Bill is one of the top 10 best drummers of all time!

That's great. I never knew that he was the band "scape goat" - the Jason Newsted of Black Sabbath!
My favorite quote of his was when he said that he couldn't even have one drink today because he'd "end up buying the bar." Glenn says on 30/Jan/07
Great guy.I heard he was always pranked by the Sabbath members for years.when I brought it up to him he replied in a serious and somewhat spooked voice"it NEVER stops!". I never forgot that! I read they pulled his shorts down while he had a cup of tea in one hand and an umbrella in the other,in front of 20,000 people! he was a guest at the show when Vinny temp replaced him.the name of the KERRANG article was "My balls have been flashed around the world so many times".it doesnt get more funnier than that! Yeah, on several albums in the 1970s, he was standing the same hieght as Ozzy, who was 5'10". Bill Ward may have shrunk due to age, but Ozzy shrunk because of other reasons. Glenn says on 20/Jul/06
I guess thats true.that must be his youth height. Glenn says on 20/Jul/06
5-8 is perfect.5-10 is BS. D. Ray Morton says on 20/Jul/06
Yeah, Bill's no more than 5'8" these days. Danimal says on 19/Jul/06
Like Ozzy, he's giving his peak height and not what he's currently at. It's a denial/pride thing. Clint Eastwood does it. They all do. People refuse to admit that they shrunk, except for Hulk Hogan. As least he's honest about it. |
