Compared to Bill he seems a lot smaller, but still solid average range

@Arch
Don't mean to discuss politics on here, but I feel that Fox News and other right-wing media have painted Newsom in a negative light to a degree. Not that I'm saying I'm a fan of him though, or any other federal/state politician in general. But many of those who relentlessly bash Newsom have never actually lived in CA.
Uncle Paul said on 4/Jun/22

He does look about this, towers over everybody. Too bad he's destroying NYC with the harsh vaccine mandates and lack of police. Him and Gavin Newsom are two of the worst types of leaders in my opinion from what I've seen, and I'm not American.

@Editor Rob: Sellers may be a good add for the site. Could look 6’5” at times but maybe more weak 6’5” next to Barack Obama and the same with DeBlasio if he’s 6’5 7/8 maybe 6’4.75”. But maybe 6’5”. Not sure who’s appt wear is thicker as neither has that thick a footwear on. I get a taller impression with him than Michael Jordan. Jordan looks 6’4.5” more than 6’5”. Sellers admitted 6’5” below.

the first link unfortunately is a site that blocks itself from EU, but the second link looked about 3.5 inches, the taller guy might seem like he has a high eyelevel, but maybe if you photographed those from 6ft 6-10 range it would look different.

It cannot be that the tallest president the US has ever had served about 160 years ago.

"Semigiant" is basically just "super tall". Taller than "very tall" range but shorter than a giant.
Canson said on 30/Nov/19
@Christian: I consider something like 6’9” to be giant. For Deblasio I wouldn’t only because of I saw him in person he would be maybe 1.5-1.75” taller than me. No guarantee 6’5 7/8 is a low. I did see that he used to claim 6’5 and people assumed he undercut his height. But Of course when someone is 6’3 or 6’3.25 and claims 6’4” that person is almost universally and unequivocally 6’4” though.

@Editor Rob: I do wonder if his measurement was good only because it does make mention to his wife measuring him against a closet. Meaning it could be on carpet and maybe is the full 6’6 or more if that’s the case and if it’s over

Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 28/Nov/19
@Cedric
There's really no universal minimum height requirement to be considered a giant because the definition varies from person to person. I consider anyone 6'8"+ to be a giant, but I've seen guys as low as 6'5" get called giants.
Canson said on 16/Nov/19
@Rob: 1/4”-1/2” can be noticeable on some but like you said posture plays a huge factor. Especially for taller guys since a lot don’t have good posture.
Dream said on 2/Sep/19
Rob, how would a 6’5 15/16” guy fair against this dude? Would that mean like it would be too difficult to determine who’s taller?
Editor Rob
Could depend on whether Bill has a good posture compared to the other guy...but small differences can be hard to spot.

Once it gets to 1/2 inch to 1 inch range, people will find it much easier than say 1/4 to 1/2

Canson said on 6/Oct/18
@Dream: I agree! It could also be his style of dress shoe. If he’s wearing a shoe that adds 3cm to his height, he may really only be 6’5.75 at a low or somewhere around there but he over 6’7” in his shoes. He also lives in New York, a place where people are known to inflate heights and claim their shoe heights. I know several people who live in or are from there and they claim their shoes. That said 6’5 won’t fly for him if he’s that far over the mark especially when he’s around a bunch of sub 6 footers that wish they were 6’0”. They claim it themselves so they have to make their lies believeable by inflating others

Dream(5'9.5") said on 5/Oct/18
@Canson Yeah. There’s going to be a lot of strong 6’5” guys who could claim 6’6”. Blasio isn’t one of them for sure. He can claim 6’6” as he wishes and get away with it pretty much every time.

Like I said, if anyone thought 1/8ths of an inch is inflating, then they haven’t seen guys like Brock O’Hurn claiming 6’7”!

To tell you the truth, I don’t really bats an eye of strong 6’5.25” guys claiming 6’6” because they will measure 6’6” flat in the morning, let alone someone who’s only a shade under 6’6” claim said height.

You could claim 6’5” and get away with it, but you claim 6’4”.

Canson said on 28/Jun/18
@Dream: lol. Women have the hardest time and give the worst estimates of height for taller guys. She may or may not have you’re right. Canson said on 30/Nov/17
@Christian: yea this guy is at minimum probably half inch taller than you are and likely about 1.5 taller than me. I saw articles where he used to claim 6’5” until his wife measured him 6’5 7/8 and said it lacked scientific precision but now see he claims it and the basis for the measurement was that people always thought he was shading short. That’s the world we live in though because i bet if the guy were my height or Tom Brady’s and claimed 6’5” instead of 6’4” there would be fewer people challenging it because it would allow them the liberty of lying up themselves

While it's true that high position politicians (like presidents, prime ministers, governors, mayors etc.) and CEOs are taller than average, I think once you're about 6'2" it's a cut-off. (meaning that being any taller gives you no additional benefit in those careers) I think Blasio at 6'6" won't affect his political career if he was 6'2"
Canson said on 28/Nov/17
@randomuser: height really doesn’t have as much to do with success as people believe outside of pro sports. More specifically when you are talking a 5’11 guy or 6’0/6’1 vs 6’2/6’3.

Some of these NYC corporate CEO/mayor/Bloomberg types are quite intimidating physically. Over 6'3" is pretty common for CEOs, in fact I'd be interested if they worked out the average height of an NYC based CEO. I always think that guys like this almost resemble the NYC buildings they work in in a way! You can just tell the guy is super wealthy by looking at him, even if you didn't know who he was. So there's a case to be argued about height in the workplace, and taller guys might get the higher jobs.
***************
lol De Blasio is not "super wealthy" in the slightest. Nor was he ever a CEO. Also most of the people on the Forbes Billionaires List are not giant at all: 5'8 Bezos, 5'9.5 Gates, 5'7.5 Zuckerberg, etc.

That 6’5 7/8 looks his afternoon height. Not a morning. I can’t see below maybe 6’5.75 and only because you have the quote above and the fact that a dress shoe at 6’5.75 can still make him just about 6’7”. 1/4” can be offset easily with footwear. I just don’t get when he claims 6’6” and was measured 6’5 7/8 why he’s listed 6’5” still on some sites

Canson said on 4/Jun/17
@JBS: he looks 6'6" so I'd say I agree. Maybe he dips to 197.5 like you said and only because I saw the 6'5 7/8 and because someone his size may lose a full inch in height in a day. He looks similar to gronk imho
O.J. said on 12/May/17
Bill is easily 6'6. I've stood next to Bill's disgraced correction commissioner, Joe Ponte, who is easily 6'2, and Bill has 4 or 5 inches on him.
Jbs93 said on 11/May/17
@Canson. Agreed. I still think 198cm is his lowest though. Definitely a downgrader for sure.
Canson said on 11/Apr/17
@JBS: so in your case you likely even come a fraction albeit a small one under 6'5". Like 6'4.9-6'4.95 (but of course still a legit 6'5"). I'd give anything really 6'4.75 or above a full 6'5. At a lowest. I'm a whisker over 6'5 out of bed (just under 6'5 1/8) and just under 6'4 3/8 at my lowest
Canson said on 11/Apr/17
@John: depending on when it is measured of course. If that's out of bed (I doubt his is), it's a legit to strong 6'5". Even if an hour out of bed it's still questionable enough to say strong 6'5" maybe the cusp of a weak 6'6"
Jbs93 said on 5/Apr/17
@canson yea thats true, thankfully the doorways in my house are 6'8". I wear mostly New Balance shoes because there the most comfortable. I'm around 6'5"-6'5.75" in shoes - max 6'5.7" barefoot morning. It doesn't help that I have really bad posture which causes back and neck pain - plus 2 acl and meniscus tears in my right knee from HS football. man This reminds me to hit the gym again and build some serious muscle
Canson said on 3/Apr/17
@Jbs193: I think anything past your height maybe Christians height at most is where it begins really. You can say 6'5.5 is probably still ok but then you're in a 1" shoe and are 6'6.5 which is where many light fixtures in houses are and some doorways are only 6'7" without carpet although many are also 6'8". 6'6" barefoot at someone's lowest means in casual shoes they're almost 6'7
Jbs93 said on 2/Apr/17
I agree completely completely with canson as a 6'5" guy. After and up past 6'6" things get really weird. Even at my height I sometimes feel that way.

That being said, I really dont see de Blasio dipping below 198cm - maybe 6'5.75". He's got a solid 6'6" body.

Canson said on 15/Dec/16
6'6" is not desirable for a common person. Any common person not a pro athlete 6'2+ will say that much lol. It's useless height otherwise. Which is why those who lie up screw it up for those who are honest imho because a 6'4 or even 6'5" guy wouldn't want to be 6'6" in most cases but a 6'3 guy will claim 6'5 lol! What rampage said here is exactly why some people like this guy, Napier and even people accuse Howard stern of doing it, round down or possibly even lie down an inch. lying down an entire inch if someone is over 6'6 at night, is the same imho as lying up an inch. But if he were between 6'5.5-.75 at his lowest don't see the issue with it. This "So called rule" people need to claim 1/2" or round up is a rule some Napoleon complex person or insecure person who needs to get every inch or be able to gain one somewhere made up to benefit them
