Jon Culshaw is on Countdown this week and today, he was singing the praises of Bob Monkhouse, and the speed at which he delivered his one liners.

⭐ I remember his game show 'The Golden Shot', which I used to enjoy so much long before I reached double figures in age. πŸ“ΊπŸ‘§

Bob can have 5ft10.25 πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜„πŸ‘

Seems honest about his height. Doesn't pretend to be 6ft. The ultimate professional, the gag about how everyone laughed when he told them he was going to be a comedian is genius. Maybe someone else wrote it like Barry Cryor possibly but Monkhouse had great timing and delivery.

On a repeat of Celebrity Squares from the mid 90's on Challenge, Bob just claimed to be 5'9.5". He might have been acknowledging some height loss or perhaps he was embellishing slightly in his autobiography.

His quoted height would seem to imply maybe 5'10.25"?

Haha what a legend, howz this for a quote "The awkward part about an orgy, is that afterwards you're not too sure who to thank." LMAO.

he worked a lot on his one liners over his career, yeah I can't believe the man died 10 years ago...time just seems to fly by!

Thanks for adding him Rob, surprised to see he was missing. He was great both as an actor and TV presenter. I always loved watching his shows lunch time when coming home from school in the 1990s! He did look an honest 5'10" next to Shirley Eaton in Carry on Sergeant and looked noticeably taller than some of the other actors in it.
