People have a weird perception of 5'11" guys. Like 5'10.5" will be average and 5'11.5" suddenly "tall". The difference between 5'10.5" and 5'11.5" is minimal. You don't suddenly go from average to tall in the space of an inch or two. It always depends upon build and even hair style/posture etc which will influence somebody's height perception. There are skinny 5'11" guys who will look tall to a lot of people but then there are stocky 5'11" guys who look average. I think 5'11" is tallish but I think tall begins at 6' and very tall at 6'3". If I'm looking at a 5'11" guy I consider him above average and sort of tall"ish" but not tall. Jack says on 12/Nov/11

If you draw a line from the top of Rob's skull (just below the top of his hair), you'll see it's a 2" difference. No more. With Rob's 5' 8.25" you get 5' 10.45" for this guy by adding the 0.2" footwear disadvantage, pretty much bang on 179 cm.
Technically, you could say he's just shy of that since Rob is just shy of 5' 8.25" at his very lowest (1mm above 5' 8" & 1/8th"), but I won't do that.

This is pretty simple. Look at the tops of their heads...look how their eyes line up. Unless Rob is shorter than he says he is, this guy is easily in 5'11 range. Get out a ruler and look at 3", it's not as big as you think it is.
