In The Osterman Week-end, near Rutger Hauer he seems 5'10 indeed. Kirk says on 27/Feb/11
Burt Lancaster was not 6 feet tall. I knew Burt back in the 50s and was on the set when he did a comedy sketch with Jerry & Dean. They all were barefoot in a bedroom scene, and they all were the same height. And it is well known Jerry and Dean were both 5 feet 10 inches tall! Cynnvb says on 14/Dec/10
I looked up and answered my own question..Debra Kerr was 5'6' or 5'7' and looks small next to Lancaster.. Cynnvb says on 14/Dec/10
Burt looks taller than average and somewhat slender. Could there be a more intersting love scene than his and Debra Kerr's(how tall was Debra?) in From Here to Eternity? From some of the still photos he was huge next to Sinatra and Cliff.( of course they were mice)Lancaster was a wonderful screen personality and actor and should not be forgotten. Burt was 6'1.5" at the start of his career about 1946, and this is apparent in scenes with his regular co-star way back then, 6'2" Wendell Corey. In the 1970's as he entered his 60's he was still 6'1". A very fit guy, being a former acrobat. jake says on 3/Nov/10
Just watched Lancaster in Birdman of Alcatraz and he stood eye-to-eye with 6' 1" Karl Malden. |
