your most likely right; It may have been just me b/c this guy is in alotta movies i see and always looks 5'9(average) to me. The only film i remember in which he looked noticeably tall was Pearl Harbor

in the film MK1 he was noticeably shorter than 6ft Robin Shou. And check out Brandon Lee's page in which the latest post is cast publicity pick for Showdown in Little Tokyo in which Carrie is 2in shorter than Brandon Lee

[Editor Rob: well this is a publicity shot ;-) But honestly, just looking at that pic, lee isn't 2 inches taller, because the camera looks set nearer the 5ft mark and Lee is several inches closer. Compare tagawa to someone on the same plane, like Lundgren, or even carrere is a little closer to tagawa than brandon...I've not seen him with shou, so can't comment]

I don't know about that he seems pretty short in Rising Sun. In the first scenes of the movie he was singing karaoke with his blond girlfriend and then they started arguing outside and she was much taller than he was. He seemed shorter than Wesley Snipes, so 5-9 or 5-8 is probably more accurate. If he were 5-11 he would actually look tall, which he doesn't in any of his movies I have seen, rising sun, mortal kombat, or geisha.

I don't know the date (but the article referred to the release of Rising Sun) so it's somewhere from 1993 - "Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is a lean and muscular 5-11"

No Way, met the guy at the Mortal Kombat premier in LA. More like 5'9 with questionable footwear.
