Seriously, this dude is nowhere near 6'4" - You really should downgrade the fella to 6'2.5", he's probably referring to his morning height in shoes. For example:

Click Here < That guy on the left (director Paul Feig) is listed everywhere as 5'11.5"-6'0". In a very rare photo, O'Dowd is finally standing with a completely straight posture and you can clearly see he is no more than two inches taller than Feig, who is actually losing height as he is leaning at an angle.

Also, in the video with Merchant he is clearly up to six inches shorter with bad posture, if he straighted up then at best he would be a weak 6'3" (the very maximum height I think is even possible for him.)

I worked with him on crimson petal and the white, I'm 5'11.5, and I would say that Chris was about 2 inches taller than me.

I reckon 6'4 is regarded as more than just averagely tall-I don't know anyone that height myself , though in upper class areas it's amazing how many young guys seem to be around the 6'2 mark. Then again in working class east London I was the tallest person at 181 cm -on a crowded bus. Seems a bit sick really how much difference upbringing can make. Then again about 60% of those people were south asain so...um I'll shut up now

the guy who plays the security guard character is Oliver Chris who also starred in the office. He's listed everywhere as being 6'3, but I think he maybe downgrading. Look at him in the office, he was a full head over ricky gervais perhaps more.

Medical statistics show that British people aren't much taller than they were 30 years ago anyway.There may be more taller people around but there are still plenty of shorter people to bring the overall average down to about 5'9" and 3/4. Which is quite obviously a long way off 6'4".

Maybe it's just the younger generations, I see many people under 30 in the 6'4 range today.
For someone over 40 it would be quite unusual, Clint Eastwood always looked tall at that height. But in about 30 years I really don't think it'll be anything special.
