When I was 17, at the Italia Conti stage school in London, dancing every day, all day, I'd never really thought about my weight. In fact, I was too thin. I was eight-and-a-half stone and I'm 5ft 8ins.
But I loved myself like that. Every woman thinks she's great when she's thin.

I’d got complacent about my weight. By the end of the tour, I weighed in at nearly 12 stone.
I looked heavy and bloated. Not a good feeling when you’re cavorting on stage in little more than a Basque and fishnet tights for most of the show. There is only so much a 5ft 8in frame can hide!

I saw Claire in an edition of Lily Savage's Blankety Blank on Sunday, and she was laughing at practically everything, and so was the late Liz Dawn, who played Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street.
It's hardly the ideal programme to judge the stars' heights, granted, but when you know them so well from the Soaps they've starred in, you have a pretty good idea anyway. Claire's since presented all manner of programmes, including 'Loose Women'.
5ft8 will do nicely.
