I really don't think he knows how tall he is. It will be interesting to see if his height is an advantage or disadvantage as an actor. On stage as Rhett Butler it seemed to be an asset with critics describing him as charismatic, commanding, imposing, a colossus etc. He was much taller than any other man in the cast and that was before they made him wear a top hat for a couple of scenes. It was quite a sight - almost Gulliver.

on the top trumps it says he is 190cm soo i don't know which is right maybe the top trumps rounded the height which is probably not true because it hasnt rounded the other stars height

Darius was interviewed at the Noor Film Festival in LA last week and as usual, the interviewer asked how tall he was. This time he said 6 ft 4. The interview is among those at the opening of the festival and can be viewed on Click Here

It is strange indeed but Darius is not alone.

Justin Hayward has always claimed to be 6'1", sometimes 6'1.5", when anyone who has stood within eyesight of him or even seen pictures of him standing next to other "reportedly taller" celebrities can see he's at least 6'2", if not 6'3". I agree with AndyF's point about Darius and the comments he got on Popstars and Pop Idol. These things can play on your mind for a long time. Hayward grew to almost the height he is now when he was still in his early teens so was a lanky teenager and has not only lied about his height but doesn't stand up straight.

Emma Bunton may have been 5'1" when she started with the Spice Girls but she was still at an age where some people still have growing to do. There is no way she is still 5'1". I'm 5'1" and she is about 1.5"-2" taller than me.

Two, boyfriends were 6'2 in their socks.Have seen Darius from 3ft away -he's definitely taller, my guess 6'4 in socks.ie in shoes could be 6'6! Very fit too-did 3 laps of a rugby ground still singing and not breathless!

On Des O'Connor once he was described as 6'5'' with size 13 shoes, USA size 14.

I reckon there is a reason for this, Mikex. When he was on Popstars and Pop Idol, he was discussed as being too tall for the type of performances that the judges were after. Look at Boy Bands--the ideal height for them seems to be about 5'9". You will never find anyone over 6'2" in a boy band.

My guess is that this registered with Darius at the time and unconciously or otherwise he tended to downplay his height. It is like a reverse effect of what short people do.

I really do think he is at least 6'4". At least--'cos I remember seeing Tony Hadley on telly saying that Darius was taller than him.

Now that Darius's career has developed into something more personal to him whereby he does not have to conform to any boy-band or pop-idol image, I think he will be more relaxed about his real height.

I saw a picture in a tabloid supplement the other week where Danesh was walking with Geri Halliwell. He looked 2 feet taller than her! I exaggerate, natch, but even given Geri's height, he still looked at least 6'4".

He was measured on Terry and Gaby's show and he was 6ft 4. I've met him a few times. He often, almost automatically, tries to "shrink down" to reduce the gap between himself and someone he's with/speaking to.

No one would round down from 6'4'' to 6'2.75''. 6'4'' is a good height, and in no way can be considered to tall. But he does look tall.
