Definitely a very big fellow! I've stood next to Alan Rickman and he really is 6'1"; in that scene others are referencing in the Potter film, Thewlis looks at LEAST several inches taller (and generally broader, too; and Rickman's not exactly delicate in build.) at least 3 inches taller than alan rickman in harry potter. In the night scene where they stood (with radcliffe) at the corridor, Rickman's head was marginally over the top edge of the movie screen (maybe 1/2 an inch over), but thewlis' eyes was almost cut off from the screen!
