Strong 6'1 for Holyfield. Maybe just about 6'2 in his prime, the late 80s early 90s. The greatest Cruiserweight there's ever been with Usyk a close 2nd. Usyk vs Holyfield would have been amazing! (if they were both of the same era obviously).

He always seemed to look over 3 inches taller than Mike Tyson — who was a solid 5’10 in his prime — so I think 6’1.5 at peak is fair for Holyfield.

I agree as far as he was fun to watch. Keep in Mind, Boxing , Being short is more a Disadvantage, than Advantage. Its not MMA where if you have a lower center of Gravity you are harder to wrestle. So to me, Shorter Boxers in their Divisions ( Frazier, Tyson, Holyfield- yes he was short for a heavyweight) always have more exciting fighting styles than the taller guys b/c they have to be more dynamic and fast to overcome their height disadvantage.
Frazier, Tyson, Holyfield are just some examples of HW fighters I thought were the most exciting in the ring. Lennox, Vlad, Vitali, Bowe, were all Great Fighters but not as enjoyable as the likes of Tyson, Frazier, Holyfield and Marciano.
Albeit, Marciano ( Who I love as a fighter) would get wrecked by the modern Big guys. His style was better for us viewers than lets say Joshua or Lennox, but both of them would end him within 4 or 5 Rounds.

I watched a documentary showing the amount of dedication he tossed in to become a heavyweight boxer, and I must say it’s no surprise that he became a heavyweight champion.
He looks around 6’1” in the photo with Rob up above, which is exactly what I’d give him. I’m surprised by this, because I thought he’d be taller than I am. Still, I’d sacrifice several inches of my height to have his hook.

I rewatched the episode from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Evander Holyfield stood by Will Smith, and I will agree that the latter was clearly taller by a bit. I think he’d appear similar to Bo Jackson, who also was edged out by Will Smith.

Guys, awhile back Rob was doing a height chart behind come pics with celebrities, including this one. Evander was dead nuts on 6'1, on that chart. He could easily be 6'1.25, just as Rob saw him.
6'1.25 is an official measurement for Evander, from early in his career, and a good and accurate one, imo.

I remember Vince Carter was listed at 6’5.5” on it and Scottie Pippen 6’6.5”; And Charles Barkley 6’5.5”. Carter is listed at 6’6” Pippen at 6’7” Barkley at 6’6” in the NBA. Of course for Barkley and Carter those aren’t barefoot heights. For Holyfield he was 6’1 with Rob and next to Will Smith they looked the same height

Also, for Muhammad Ali olympics height, he is listed at 6" 1.5. Rob is it possible that both those heights are the true heights of both athletes, and the extra inch you added on celebheights, or on their statistics like passport height for Ali at 6' 2.5", or evanders 6'1 1/4, were be measured in shoes perhaps? Hey Rob, was your sole height more than Evander's?
Also, 3 more questions. Since you say you're about 5 foot 8 1/8 to 5 foot 8 1/4, does that mean Evander could be 6 foot 1 6/16 to 6 foot 1 1/1?
Also, isn't Evander leaning a bit while you are standing straight, which might give him an extra quarter to half inch?
Also, since Evander's bald doesn't that make him appear a fraction of an inch shorter, especially when you look to see where the top of his head is when you draw the height lines to measure him in his height video? Since he has no hair you can 100% see exactly where exactly the to top of his head is, whereas when he has hair you might overshoot it by like 1/8 of an inch?

Hey Rob, was your sole height more than Evander's?
Also, 3 more questions. Since you say you're about 5 foot 8 1/8 to 5 foot 8 1/4, does that mean Evander could be 6 foot 1 6/16 to 6 foot 1 1/1?
Also, isn't Evander leaning a bit while you are standing straight, which might give him an extra quarter to half inch?
Also, since Evander's bald doesn't that make him appear a fraction of an inch shorter, especially when you look to see where the top of his head is when you draw the height lines to measure him in his height video? Since he has no hair you can 100% see exactly where exactly the to top of his head is, whereas when he has hair you might overshoot it by like 1/8 of an inch?

Editor RobI don't think our posture is different, because I'm leaning back to my left there. In person around 185-6 range, but not as tall as 187 is what I felt from seeing him...he was a good couple of inches shy of tony tucker that day.

Editor RobIt's hard to say - always chance of slight inflation. It's boxing after all. It's a shame they don't do documented video stats on boxers/fighters were they get proper measurements for height, reach, fist size etc.

Interestingly, I just watched the Holyfield vs. Parkey fight, from 1987. The tale of the tape listed Holy as 6'1.5, the first time I have seen that figure for him. Seems like a real measurement as it is very specific. I still think a flat 6'1 is a safe guess for Evander, and 6'1.25 as Rob has him listed is very reasonable. I think 6'1.5 peak height in his prime is the max possibility for him.

I find this a bit of an odd listing even though it's not far off. I mean, the 6'2"+ listings are obviously bogus. The 6'1" and 6' 0.75" listings make good sense and appear to match with reality and the pic with Rob. The picture really doesn't support this "slightly taller than you'd think" listing. Saw ESPN's 30 for 30 'chasing tyson' documentary, he was listed as 6'1 1/4 at the 1984 Olympics. He was 21 then too, so fully grown in height.

A lot of the guys people said towered over Holyfield were really big guys in the 6'5 range. I just watched the ESPN 30 for 30 about Tyson and Holyfield and he had at least 3 inches on Iron Mike.

A lot of the guys people said towered over Holyfield were really big guys in the 6'5 range. I just watched the ESPN 30 for 30 about Tyson and Holyfield and he had at least 3 inches on Iron Mike.

Editor Rob Since my head is a known size and in most photos close to the other head, it can be a kind of ruler. Only thing is, sometimes if my head was tilted up or down then I'd adjust it a fraction. In some cases I don't think it would be much use, especially if close in height, but it's just another visual reference.

I'd say 5" inches taller than rob. 6ft1 on the penny. Maybe 6ft1.5 in his prime during the 1990's. He's 50 in this pic and prob would of lost 1cm from all the weight training he still does. He reminds me of Frank Tenpenny from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas!

Rob is at the midpoint of Evanders Nose. I measure from the midpoint of my nose to the top of my head got between 5.25 and 5.5 inches. Holyfield is between 6'1.25" and 6'1.5". He also looks like he is leaning forward a bit.
