I agree with you Markus, many Hollywood people do seem to try to be taller than they actually are. I travel quite alot and have meet many celebrities over the years, I am almost always surprised how the look in person, compared to how you perceive them from the big screen. Probably one of the few celebrities I've meet who looked exactly how I expected is Ralph Moeller. He is a big guy on screen and when you see him in person he looks the same. I have never been lucky enough to meet Famke, but can easily see that she might drop the 1/2". My sister drops a full inch and calls it 5'11" because she feels too tall admitting she is a full 6'.

Well of course nobody "needs" heels, but in Hollywood it seems that a lot of people want to appear taller than they really are. And that's not the case for Famke I think, she doesn't have to wear heels them to appear tall.
To me she looks beautiful anyway, heels or no heels lol!

But to speak for myself, if I would see a 182 cm girl (flat heeled) I would probably guess her 185 cm. As for a guy I could estimate much more accurate.

But 190 cm is very tall for a girl Max! But in the end it all comes down to proportions I think.

She doesn't wear heels because she "needs" them. she thinks the shoes look pretty and wants to wear them. Her boyfriend is 199 cm so he doesn't mind either. We know quite a few women in the 180 cm and above range, none of them need heels but when a women likes a pretty pair of shoes she wants to wear she will wear it. When I was in University a woman at the school, who was a fashion student, who was exceptionally pretty, was 190 cm flat footed. I asked her one time if she was a model, and she quitely said they turned her down because of her height. Imagine a girl that looks like Jessica Simpson in her Dukes of Hazzard role, but 190 cm. Amazingly when they did a fashion show at the school, the girls were their own models for the clothes they made. The teacher insisted that they all wear heels because that is what is fashionable . With her "show" shoes on she looked me square in the eye, same height.

A 182 woman is also more likely to wear heels than a 182 cm man. Thus making her actually taller, not just appearing so. My little sister is 183 cm and sometimes when she goes dancing with my wife and myself she wears 7 cm heels bring her to 190 cm. I am 197 cm and sometimes when she walks toward me I am even surprised at her height in her dress shoes.

The funny thing about women's height is that a 182 cm woman would APPEAR taller to me than a 182 cm man for some reason. Maybe it has to do with proportions as well, or the fact that just few women are that height, but many men are.

I read a few times that her official height is 180 cm.

I can see the rounding down part. My last physical I was measured at 6'5.5" . I feel akward mentioning the .5 since I am I almost always much taller than the people I am with. I just say I'm 6'5" if I am asked. My little sister is 6' even, though always tells people she is 5'11" because she doesn't like the way 6' sounds for a womans height. A girl I went to University with was 6' but would actually insist she was 5'9" because she felt uncomfortable with her height and the fact she was taller than many of the guys.

i stood by her for 6 hours on solid floore and she was wearing 0.6 upscale sleepers and i was wearing 1.2 casual shoes and she was easy my height i was her height with military posture and 1.5 cm shoes advantage for me 6 ft is a big possibility but at the very least 5'11.5 i think 5'11.75 would make sens since i am 180.34 5'11 we were the same height but i had shoes advantage 5'11.5 minimum and very possibly 6 ft but i have no phisical evidance that she is over 5'11.5 it is hard to judge an exact height even in 6 hours so i alwais give my self a 2 cm perimeter so 5'11.25 to 6 ft for her 181 to 183 cm i should work with her again tomorow but i saw her enaugh to see 181 atleast nd 183 at most she defenely round down 0.5 to 1 inch my guess is a full 182 cm for her

I saw here last summer in Amsterdam in a shop and tried to do some comparison without letting her know. Her hands were bigger, our forearms pretty close and I outsized her biceps. But most off all, she is very beautifull!

I'm from Holland and I'm just 5.2.5(160 cm) probaly because my family isn't that tall. The Dutch aren't the tallest people in the world anymore I guess we're third on the world ranklist now. Scandinavian people are definitly number one! I think Famke is about 5'10 or 5'11.

My wife was watching Ellen today,and I saw Famke but missed Samuel L. Jackson by a few minutes. Anyways she looked absolutely huge, when she came out. She had big heels on probably 3 plus inches, but I'm not kidding with being how skinny she is she looked like Manute Bol next to Ellen, it was hilarious. Of course, not ALL Dutch are tall, but they are the tallest MEAN height on earth at this time. Since we're talking mean height here, the size of the population only has a limited effect. US citizens WERE the tallest, but have slipped in the ranks. Exercise, diet, health care: there could be several factors. But it's not just ethnic diversity; that's been examined. So, it's math, not myth. :-) I'm WAY over the mean height for a US citizen @ 6'5", but I'm still an American. Being an average value, there will be people who fall below OR above that by definition. Anyway, the data's well tested and can be examined on several good sites on the Web.

Size 11 feet on women is no big deal anymore. Besides the Exquisite Famke and dummy Paris, Uma Thurman, Venus Williams, Rebecca Romijn, Adrianne Curry, Tyra Banks, Geena Davis, Jerry Hall, Annie Lennox, & Brigiite Neisen, are all 11s. Most models are at least size 10s. Even Katie Holmes, Teri Hatcher, Oprah, Liz Taylor, & Ciara are 10s, and none of these ladies are over 5'8". Golfer Michelle Wie wears mens size 10.5 golf shoes, which makes her at least a womans 12. Funny thing, I'm a 5'8" transvestite and I wear a womans 9 (some sandals amd slides I can get away with an 8.5).

hey, anonymous it's not so hard to have majority of guests standing 6'+ in their bare feet; of course I don't know if this wedding was with many Dutch people but if it is, it's not that unusual over here. I'm 6' tall and have also shoes size 11(lady's size right?)43(in NL). And I can tell you it's not that odd to see almost everywhere people bigger than 6'(though most of the times it are man )Unless you're Dutch yourself, than I wouldn't know why I've said these things.
