Tyson was 5'11 1/2' ie just under six foot. Check him out on boxing rec. Not 5' 10 etc etc. Because he was so wide it gave that impression. Bruno was 6'3 1/2' so the difference of four inches is about right. The classic line, but I met Bruno at a car show maybe 15 years ago... I'm just under 6' 4 Bruno was just a whisker below me but jesus what a physique and may I say a real gentleman!

Dont understand why he is 6'3 here when all through his career and in the times of what should be his peak height he was billed as 6'2 Physics Enemy says on 10/Dec/11
He's 6' 2" MAX. He's well under Lennox's height and he's got under 4" on a strong 5' 10" Tyson, based on that pic of them from 1996. He does not come close to towering Tyson; 5" difference IS towering. It looks about 3.75". Physics Enemy says on 10/Dec/11
He doesn't have 5" of height on Tyson though. Not when they were fighting. 5" is towering and the difference wasn't THAT noticeable. Don't you agree, Rob? Click here: Click Here
That's under 4" to me, draw a line across from the top of Tyson's head (just under the top of the cap) and see where it lands on Bruno's head. Quite high.
Bruno wasn't 6' 3" and/or Tyson wasn't 5' 10" flat. 5' 10.5" and 6' 2.5" might be it; or perhaps Bruno was just a solid 6' 2", which is definitely believable.
[Editor Rob: yeah in that photo it doesn't look 5.] Mathew says on 20/Nov/11
Picture doesn't show his height. 6'3" sounds fair. LAN Jiao says on 19/Oct/11
Massive head size and high shoulder. 6'3 in real could be. Cranberries (18m, 193cm) says on 6/Oct/11
Not sure if he's especially large boned; certainly, he's long boned, with a long clavicle and long arms and hands. And his head is huge. But he has a short torso, and toothpick legs.
You can't really put much of a European taxonomical label on the guy.
[Editor Rob: his head is also nearer the camera by 3-4cm, it's amplified in size.] the AMAZING Babushka says on 26/Sep/11
cripes, carefull he doesnt eat you Balthier says on 16/Sep/11
Actually, men with high testosterone levels grow bigger jaws and have thicker frame. Probably so they have a more imposing frame and scarier look towards other men. Balthier says on 11/Sep/11
This guy is built like a truck. He looks enormous compared to Rob. Legend says on 27/Aug/11
He's 6'3 and big boned. A thick guy. Rampage(-_-_-)Clover says on 15/Aug/11

I believe it is natural selection for guys with bigger heads as many of them start out with big heads like Tyson, Ali, Holyfield did if you look at pictures of them when they are young. Many times trainers will look for and encourage kids with these features to become fighters in the hopes that they can train the next great. Cranberries (18m, 192cm dinnertime) says on 3/Jul/11
What mat said, Jason. As your muscles transform, so do your skeleton and tendons. Your hands can grow quite a lot, both in the length and girth of the bones, by doing physical labor. Swimming can also thicken the spinal plates and expand the ribcage.
You might be done growing vertically by a certain age, but you continue growing structurally for quite a few years (past 25 really), and if you're still growing, you can still affect and enhance that growth.
Try punching a punching bag, hard, every day for several minutes. I guarantee that the skeletal dimensions of your hands will increase over the course of the year. mat says on 11/Jun/11
Their bones will get thicker from repeated impact with the bone repairing micro fractures and adjusting its structure to try and prevent further damage in much the same way muscles grow and building large muscles can help to develop thicker bones as the tendons on the bone pull on it encouraging it to get thicker and stronger. Jason says on 7/Jun/11
Of course exercising muscles causes them to grow Cranberries, but it's not going to change the size of your bones or skull. A better explanation for the big heads of boxers/fighters might be swelling from repeated blows. Or maybe there's self-selection for guys who have thick skulls ^^. Cranberries says on 5/Jun/11
"holy crap I know he is tall, but is it just me or does the boxer have a huge head."
Boxers and MMA fighters typically have the largest heads (and jaws) of all athletes. In general, the limbs you use the most will grow the most (exercising makes you structurally larger; it's a physiological fact); perhaps the same applies to heads :P. James says on 1/Jun/11

WOW weird pic. If Lennox is 195cm then Frank looks 6'1 (185cm) with bad posture. and straightend up 188cm.
Overall compared to lennox looks 6'2 (188cm) in the photo. Matt says on 4/Apr/11
His pictures with 6'5 Lennox Lewis make him look about 6'1-2
It's been said (on here) Lennox is something like 6'4.5 or just a flat 6'4. Either way in this current pics Bruno certainly doesn't look 6'3. Though in the 'Battle of Britain' (Lewis vs Bruno) he looked it.
Have a look
