@reality John is certainly not 5'11. He always looked to be around freddie's height, if not a little shorter. 5'10.5 is indeed spot on for roger (I would not rule out 180cm at peak). Freddie at 5'9.75 sounds right to me too. Even very ill, he didn't look 2 inches shorter than 5'11.5 George Michael.
I still believe Brian was (maybe a weak) 6'3 at peak.

This is a site where we discuss the height of celebrities. I never heard of you. Your height is irrelevant.

I thought he was going to be about 6'0. I dont care about his height, but he always had such a big presence in the stage that made him look magestic :)

1. Freddie's middle name is Bomi, his father's first name.
2. Freddie's "powerful" look onstage has less to do with his physical fitness (which helped), than an essential part of successful acting: projecting a presence, or concept of a character. Great actors use every muscle in their body in blocking onstage (think about stories where costars touch an actor during a play, and found their entire body was tense, living in the moment of the character.)

I think the 5'9" is good. (I don't care about those ".5", ".25", ".75" hub-bubs.) I've been watching Queen concerts and held them as my number 1 for 19 years (since my age of 12) and he was slim to begin with and decently fit into the 80s. His concert showmanship made him out to be gigantic, but I could always tell that Dr. May was taller, even with May's usual slouch.

In their years 5'9" was still taller than average; I slide from 5'9" - 5'11" (part of a disabling condition causes the fluxs.) 5'8" was average US height into my early adulthood, now I hear it is 5'10" (in The USA).

I do think his buid, fitness, and posture helped his powerful appearance. As to Sacha Baron Cohen, his height seems to me to be the primary factor for the role. I think, personally, he looks the part. As to the singing, that was impressive to hear him as (what was it, Perelli?) the other barber in the Johnny Depp "Sweeny Todd"; but no Freddie Mercury for sure.

Freddie was a legend but not a physically large man - from extensive videos available I would say he's about 170cm (5 foot 7 inch)

So he was not big - so what!

you're a fool what does that have to do with anything? because he is Persian he can't be 5'9? who even said Persians are tall people on average they are not they can be any height like any other ethnicity.

I'm not entirely sure where this 5ft 9 figure originates, but I don't think it's right. In January 1986 I went to a party at Freddie's mansion and met the chap. My first thought was how tiny he was. I am 5ft 5 and half and I was never one for heels so would not have been more than 5ft 7 in my shoes. He was at eye level with me.

I have to echo what other people on here have said, he looked taller because he was lanky and lean, but in actual fact was fairly average in height.

I hope that Sacha Baron Cohen does justice in playing Freddie, as this man was one of a kind, so talented and such a wonderful spirit. I don't think anyone can do him proper justice, but it's time that we finally honoured this Legend! Love you as if you were still with us, Darling!
