Glenn looks so much taller in his vids vs. what everyone says his actual height is (if anyone really knows for sure) but video is misleading. Never saw him in person so have no idea. I'm a 5' 6" female and would be interested to see where he comes to face to face. Either way, his bravado and "act" aside, I dig his music and he was pretty cute back in the day! Nice guns...

First, about the fight video...just because somebody gets knocked out by a punch DOES NOT mean they aren't tough! Maybe it means he wasn't paying attention, or wasn't expecting it, or maybe the other guy just got the lucky shot. Not saying that Danzing IS a good fighter, im just saying just because somebody knocks him down with a punch doesn't mean he's a bad fighter either!! He's got a lot to lose (law suites), that hesitation of thinking twice on whether or not to throw down can make a huge difference.
As far as height, height doesn't make someone tougher or less tough either. I get a kick out of all the people here that make it like someone is useless because they are shorter than average height. News flash, most of you are probably just jealous because the people you are talking about have talents/abilities/skills and are loved by many, and all you have is the fact that you were born tall. I am not shorter than average, and I do have plenty of fighting experience (few years in boxing, MMA, police training) and I know plenty of guys almost a foot shorter than me that would beat my ass royally.

I met Glen and Erie at Sudsy Malone's in Clifton, Ohio before they played a show at Bogart's. They both spoke to us and were real cool dudes. I could care less how tall he was, he was sitting at a table and I sure didn't ask him to stand up. I was stoked that he took the time to talk with us and sign some stuff for us. Sounds like a lot of people on here hate on him for some reason. If you ever met him in person I can guarantee you that you wouldn't be talking any crap to him. Jeez, it's amazing how so many people can form an opinion of someone else based on his or her height. I'm pretty sure that's discrimination, and that kinda makes you a bigot. Also, why do so many people infer so much out of that knockout video? We have no idea what was really going on, and what was said, after all. Saw him at Ozzfest supporting Blackacidevil. I knew he was short, but was genuinly shocked to see HOW SHORT he really was. I always thought danzig was like 6'5" from the videos, but on his myspace he listed 5'5". I always thought he was tough because he looked ripped. but at that height with such a compact frame, how hard is it really to get ripped with that kind of leverage. that punch that took him down on youtube looked really weak. I've seen Danzig several times in 2002 during concerts and met him also backstage.. The man had nose surgery when he got involved with Rick Rubin in 1987. He was skinny, weak and had a large nose when in the Misfits. Enter Danzig, he was VERY built, tough and an overall more controlled appearance, however, I have seen interviews where he told the female reporter that if she asked him if he was the devil he would have clobbed her in the head and that it may not hurt at first, but after a few hits she would feel it and he also has gone on to say that he would love to amass an army and kill the whole world. He seems short, but if he was cool no one would care. I think his lack of height definitely gave him a complex from the beginning. I don't think he would be as angry, stupid, or sad if he was of normal height. All the over-emphisis on dominant masculinity and contrived sexuality seems to compensate for something. Well. As a guy I am only 5`7 and got no problems with the chicks. I experienced that women SAY they like tall guys, but it goes out the window once you convince them with self confidence, personality. What women hates is men with low self esteem and it ruins pretty much everything.

Ok, with respect to you people - you seem very decent - I have to take issue here (and not related to height, directly). The stance is simple: I believe that men should never hit women or kids. Now Danzig, like it or not, has a reputation for hitting women (and young fans) at gigs. Is this reputation justified? I'm afraid it is, judging by the guy's lyrics (who else writes about killing 13-year-old girls?) and attitude. The Viv Campbell incident, which was widely reported in the metal press, happened when Danzig swore at Campbell's wife backstage ("Get the f... outta my way!") when she happened to be unaware he was trying to pass. Campbell either punched him, sending his food flying, or kicked his backside, sending him reeling into his dropped soup-bowl, on which he struck his nose. Fair play to Campbell, surely? Danzig claimed he was afraid to hit back "in case he sued (me)". Now, Def Leppard members are rich, and have no need to sue anyone. (And Campbell made money with Dio and Whitesnake, presumably.) The same pattern emerged when Danzig was beaten up by the Northside Kings guy. Seen the clip? Danzig shoves the guy first. THAT is assault, and is on film, so the guy could've sued him without beating him up. Why did Danzig claim the assailant had used a metal blade, and then, when the vid emerged, try the 'fear of court' tack again? Desperation. The NSK guy later stated Danzig had been rude to his guitarist's wife earlier. Danzig seems to hate women.
Of course, it must be highly, highly depressing for Danzig. He put on weight, cancelled tours, stopped recording, and spent lots of energy denying he'd been punched. When the whole internet public has seen you being beaten up with one punch, it's not surprising that depression should kick in. But he gets no sympathy; he shouldn't have hit women and kids. You can ban me from the site - I understand that - but I have to be true to essential principles.

Well, I'm about 5'4" myself and I workout like a madman too! Wouldn't you if you were my height? He could very well weigh 225. It's not impossible. I weigh about 175 and I have people telling me that I'm pretty big for my height. But I can certainly pack on another 30 or 40 lbs of muscle easy. Muscle weighs more than fat so it's possible. As someone who has met both ( and despite other stories) were nice guys they really are not huge. I'm 5'10 200 and was bigger than both.
Both are in great shape and look good for thier size and I can only hope when i'm thier age to look as well. Ethier way, they are great artist and this is really funny as in no one talks about the size or weight of roy orbison or cash or anyone (maybe elvis) but alas listen to the music and forget everything else.

Henry Rollins stated on a Howard Stern interview that he is 190-195 pounds. Stern thought he was well over 200 pounds.
He was one thick dude in the 90's. He has lost a lot of muscle and size since the late 90's.

Are you sure about that? Rollins is definitely around 5'8.5" or 5'9". I saw him a number of times in New York back in the day. First time was in a San Loco take out place near NYU - standing in line, right in front of me - and I was shocked at how short he was. Anyway...195 lbs. is a lot for even a 5-9er. Is he really that big?

i was always under the impression that he was 5'5''. it's the most common listing that i've seen for him. either way, the guy is a beast regardless...he obviously works out like a madman to make up for his height or something...and he's obviously a very talented musician...one of the most legendary rock singers of all time |
