On this picture (Click Here) Gwyneth is with Elle MacPherson. Considering Elle as a six footer, and a little slouching on het side, Gwyneth is two to three inches shorter, so somewhere between 5'9 and 5'10. I would say 5'9,5 (1.76 m).

I am exactly 5'7" and stood next to her in Oct. 09 at the Standard Grill in nyc. We both had very high heels on and she towered over me. She is at least 5'9" but I would go as far as to say 5' 10".

Gwyneth was not a fashion model! She has done campaigns due to her celebrity from being an ACTRESS! She could of been though, she is tall enough. I have read several magazine articles with her as the main subject and they always say 5 foot 9, so I believe it. She wears some crazy heels that make her look like she is 6 ft 1. She is taller than RDJ because he has to wear platforms in Iron man during scenes she is in.

How old are you, Lucas? You should be in between your parents heights if you're an only child and eats lots of fruit and vegetables and get plenty of sleep at night. If you're older and have a problem with your height, there's leg lengthening surgery, but I heard it's painful and cost alot.

The difference in platform height is indeed minimal, but from the looks of it Tylers' seem to be a miniscule bit taller. Though with that in mind, Tyler is easily 2 inches taller, 2.5 is also definitely possible. So, like others (including myself) have said - Paltrow is more likely 5'7" to 5'8" max.

I think this needs looking at again. I watched Iron Man yesterday, and either Gwyneth is listed as too tall or Downey Jnr is listed as too short. Given the comments about Downey Junior often suggesting he is shorter than listed, that would make Gwyneth even shorter.

Same with guys like Josh Brolin. He is a questionable 5'10" yet his father James Brolin was close to 6'4" in his prime. He had a short mother I'd guess. Strange thing though Hulk Hogan was 6'6" in his prime, Linda Hogan is 5'8". You would expect their son to be blinkin massive and at least 6'4" yet I doubt Nick Hogan is even 6 foot! Brooke Hogan however inherited the tall genes and is around 5'11".

5'7" is still short for a guy!! Height is partly genetic. Sure average height parents can produce tall children but I would guess that a 5'1" mum and a 5'4" dad wouldn't produce a 6'4" son or a 6' for that matter. Neither of Paltrow's parents were particularly tall, tall yes but not especially like say Uma Thurman's parents who were 6'4" and 5'11". I would wage that a 6'4" dad and 5'11" mother in turn would not produce a 5ft 1 or 5 ft5 son either. A family I know the mother is 5'9" and the father 5'11" and the mother's father is 6'4". Their eldest son is 6'6" at least, the middle son is 6'4" and the youngest son is the run who is little taller than his mother 5'9"-5'10". Now 5'92-5'10" is average height but what I'm saying it is not that likely his parents would have produced a 5'4" son and vice versa. If parents are aroujnd average height or one parent a little above averge then sure there is a good possibility that the offspring will be on the taller side atrributing to good nutrition etc but taller parents that are 6'1" and 5'7" are unlikely to produce a short girl or even an average height one for that matter. Ocasionally there is variation if one parent is taller and the other is short often they are average but not if both parents are particularly tall. Look at Jason Connery. Sean Connery was 6'2" in his prime yet his son is 5'11", he had a shorter mother.

As I said, Ellen is a great person to gauge all others since many have appeared on her show and can be seen on YouTube. I know this has nothing to do with Pitt, but it's a good reference tool.

Here's a picture of Reese with Christina Ricci (Ricci is listed as 5'0.25" on this site, so let's jus say 5' - I really have to laugh at all these quarter inch three-quarter in here and there and many are arguing she may only be 4'11"). If that is the case, Reese only looks about 1" taller than Ricci, which would make Reese potentially 5'-5'1". Plus the 3" heels she's wearing below with Ellen, would make her about 5'3-4" at the most, Ellen is about an inch taller than Reese in that video which would make Ellen about 5'4-5". Even if you claim that Reese has 4" height advantage or Ellen is 2" taller than Reese, Ellen still can't be more than 5'5", 5'6" in her sneakers. This is too tall for Ellen flat.

And further more, if McAvoy is 5'7" (as listed here), he's clearly about 4" taller than Reese and about 5" taller than Ricci, which means they are about 5'3" and 5'2" respectively in their 3" heels!!! Either that or McAvoy is shorter than 5'7"! Something's not right here! Everyone is shorter than they claim! Wow, what a revelation!

XYZ - Yes I would agree with a 5'7" flat. Actors/actresses are generally not tall-tall, peoples. They really aren't. You get the odd one like Uma Thurman and Tim Robbins, etc, but they really are not the model height you all think they are.

Doug - you are assuming that Clooney is 5'9.5"!!! ;) To be honest, I think he's about 5'8-9" or at the most he and Pitt are the same height at 5'9" (Pitt only appears taller because of his lifts and posture). Remember, the best way to gauge Ellen's height is not by those actors whose height is still debatable, but by actors like Reese Witherspoon, who is not really debated and most agree she's about 5'2". Check Ellen's height next to her with heels. That's a safer bet. I really don't think Gwyneth is taller than 5'7". I'll admit though that Gwyneth does appear to be a taller woman. 5'7" is still tall you know (for a woman).

XYZ, yes exactly, tall parents does not equal tall kids and sometimes shortish parents can lead to taller kids. My mum was probably not more than 5'1-2" at her peak and my dad about 5'4-5", and yet my younger brother is 5'7". NOT FAIR!!! :)

Gwyneth is a serial high-heel-wearer. Especially around the time of the Iron Man premiers. Nothing less than 4". A lot of those platformed shoes have around a 6" heel.

Ellen at only 5'5"?? Nah, she is definately minimum 5'6", she was only three inches shorter than 5'9.5" Clooney. If you tried claiming Clooney was only 5'8" you really are getting way too low. Gwyn again looks at least 2 inches talle than ELlen presuming flats. I think Gwyn is genuinely in the 5'8"+ range. She is definately too tall to be only 5'6" or 5'7".

She is easily 2 inches taller than Joaquin in those pics, I see 2-2.5 inches.I'd say he is about 5'9" in shoes she is about 5'11-5'11.5" if in heels. Take away say 3 inch heels and you have 5'8"-5'8.5". I think she is 5'8".

Good find!! I always took for granted she was 5'9" because, well shes always looked at leats that, kind alike Jodie Kidd. I can see just about see 5'8" but 5'7" really would be quite something!! That would make her about 5'7" flat from those pics. Difficult to tell a lot of things sometimes just don't work out. Sometimes 5'8-5'9" guys like Stallone can look only about 3 inches shorter than 6'4" guys!! then he will be owned by guys who are barely 5'11'!! You must admit thought in most pics she does not look anything other than above 5'8", even in flats. I've seen pics of her and Chris Martin who is definately not below 6'1" and he has 5 inches on her max, 3-4 inches in some pics honestly. The best pic is them walking down a cobbled street and he is wearing a blue beanie. Both are in sneakers she looks in the 5'8-5'9" range, he looks close to 6'2".

I have to hand it to you. I always thought she was 5'9 but there is no way now that I look at these photos with Phoenix. Hard to imagine her <5'7 so for now, in my mind, she is 5'7 flat.

I agree with your statement about tall parents do not necessarily = tall kids. My aunt is 5'1 and my grandparents were both about 5'6-7.

Click Here - here is a better shot of Paltrow with Joaquin. She is only 1.5-2" taller than a 5'8" Joaquin. Making her at most 5'9.5-10". Less the 3" in heel height, makes her anywhere between 5'6.5-7". Even if you allow an inch for Joaquin's shoes, that still only makes her 5'7.5-8". But I seriously doubt that Joaquin is 5'9" in normal dress shoes, more like 5'8" in shoes.

That is not Jack Black. That's Joaquin Phoenix. He looks good for 5'8 (also according to this site). He also looks like he is standing as straight as he possibly can. Her hips are at a slight angle.

Looks like an 1 in difference. If he is 5'9.5 in his shoes, then she is 5'10.5 -5'11 in her shoes, minus heels, say 4 inches for 5 inch shoes, she is about 5'7. Strange...always thought she was a legit 5'9...I could be off about Phoenix's height but I don't think he is 5'10. At most he is 5'9 so that would make her 5'8-ish...Interesting...

Click Here - photo of paltrow with ellen, she appears about 2" taller, presumably both a wearing flattish shoes, maybe Paltrow has 1", I know it's hard to tell without being able to see shoes, but if Ellen is 5'5" without her sneakers, that puts Paltrow at 5'7" max.

I think the proof that Valentino can be only about 5'5-6", proves that Paltrow is only about 5'9-10" standing next to him in those 5" (4") shoes, since she's only about 4" taller than him. So if you took away the shoes, she is about 5'5-6", maximum 5'7". Definitely not 5'9". We need a downgrade here too.

LOL!!!! Whoopi Goldberg is listed as 5'4" on this site (since when does this site list celebs at less than their height!?). So if that is true, allow 5'5" in her sneakers, Valentino is virtually the same height. Check out the YouTube video below of Valentino on The View, when he hugs Whoopi.

So if that puts Valentino at around 5'5"-6", Paltrow is no way 5'9" and unlikely to be taller than 5'7". Doug how do you know the height of Paltrow's parents? BTW, my brother-in-law is 5'9-10", my sister was 5'2", but now she's about 5'1", my niece only grew to 5'2". So it is possible for female offspring to only grow an inch or two higher than the mother's height (or the shorter parent's height) and very rarely to the height of the taller parent. And further on that note, my husband is 5'8" his former partner (the mother of his daughter) is 5'11", his daughter is nearly 14 and about 5'2", it is unlikely that she will grow taller than 5'8" ... well we've yet to see this, but I seriously doubt it since girls stop growing on average about 15-16, 18 max. She would have to grow another 6" to match her dad's height in the next 3-4 years, possible, but to be noticeably taller than her dad and in between her mum and dad, she would need to grow 8-10" - highly unlikely. She favours her father's side (genetically) very strongly and all the women in his family are around 5'5-7". The women in her mother's family are around 5'5-7" also, her grandmother being about 5' (albeit 80yo). So I don't think the parent thing is concrete.

Click Here - this is Valentino on The View. Check it out at 1:20-24. He is about the same height as these women. They all notoriously wear fairly big shoes (3-4") and they are all around 5'2"-4", making them maximum 5'5-7", Valentino, I doubt very much is taller than 5'7". If Paltrow is only taller than Valentino by approximately her shoe height, take away the shoes, and she's about the same height. I think 5'7" for Paltrow. Again, the ubiquitous extra 2".

It's hard finding photos of Paltrow. She is almost always by herself! Even with Brad, they're pretty scarce.

Well put it this way. Her father was 6 ft 1. Her mother is 5 ft 7. I think it is fairly safe to say she is certainly not below this and has the genetics to be tall. Madonna wears the biggest heels in the business folks, 5-6 inches as she has one of the biggest height complexes for women. Paltrow is way too gangly to be under 5'8" and her thin frame makes her look taller. Paltrow is at least 5'8".

Click Here - I'm not sure how tall Valentino is (but appears to be a very small man, I doubt he's taller than Jack Black (5'6") and is more like 5'4-5", but possibly 5'6" at most), however he's not 5'9"! Paltrow appears to be about 5" taller than him, if you took her away her massive heels, she would be at his height or possibly an inch taller, which would make Paltrow anywhere between 5'5" and 5'7". Even if you argue that Valentino is 5'7" (doubt it very much) that would still only make Paltrow 5'7-8" tops and not 5'9". Look at these other photos and you tell me what you think. Because Valentino is definitely a small man.

It also casts doubt on Anne Hathaway's height too. I think 5'7" tops for Paltrow and 5'5" tops for Hathaway (Paltrow appears to be 2" taller than Hathaway). If the heights for these ladies as listed here is correct, they would have to be 6'1" and 5'11" respectively (given there massage 4" shoes) and a tiny Valentino an average height (for a man) of 5'9", no bloody way!

Now I know photos where we can't see shoes are not good to work with, but all in all, we can safely assume that both women are wearing around 3" heels (why would either have less than 3", so possibly more, given that it is a special event), either way, you can dispute heel height all you like, but how the hell is that a 5'11-6' (allowing for 2" heels) woman (Paltrow) standing only about 3" taller than the petite Madonna? Madonna would have to be 5'8-9" WHEN HAS MADONNA EVER LOOKED 5'8-9"? This proves that Paltrow cannot be a flat 5'9". Don't worry, I'll be looking for more photos of Paltrow with others to bust this myth!

I am not sure that is Jack Black with Gwyneth, but it appears to be. If it is (and obviously if it's not this argument goes straight out the window) but if it is, how is it that Gwyneth, at 5'9" and wearing about 3" heels (in other words 6'), is the same height or about an inch at most taller than Jack (who is 5'6", 5'7" in sneakers? I believe 5'5" and 5'6" in sneakers, but nonetheless!) HOW CAN THAT BE? Is it possible that Paltrow is actually 5'5-6"? Also, even if that isn't Jack Black, you have to remember that a 5'9" woman wearing 3" heels (3" actual height advantage heels) would be 6'! You cannot mistaken a 6' woman walking around and Paltrow does not look 6' ever! I don't think she is more than 5'6". Again, this height of 5'9" is her height in heels, just like every female celebrity.

Assuming that Paltrow wears 3-inch heels at least and that Joaquin Phoenix (5ft8) is in dress shoes, I can't see more than 5ft8 for her in the picture - or any picture from the series. Even when I take into account that she's standing a bit closer to the camera.

In an interview on the late night show, Robert Downey Jr who on this site is 5'8 said that Gwyneth was much taller than him. Much means more than 1 inch so I'm surprised that she is only 5'9 on this site. I am guessing at least 5'9.5 or even 5'10. She is a tall lady, no doubt about that.

Janisbeth, highschool is brutal with the guys in your grade not maturing fast enough. If your parents trust you see if you can go on dates with a guy a year or so older who will treat you (hopefully) more recpectfully and be greatful that your confidendt in your height and your over all package is something he is going to wait long and hard for which will prove what kind of person he is, and girl thats what you want. Its the idiots that wait until your 19 and 5'9 or 5'10 to say something positive. "thanks alot guys, could have used that in middle school". Good luck and don't you ever be embarrassed by your heighth, I made that mistake and I hope I can tell girls not to do the same. Be confident!

Based on that I would guess Gywneth is about 5'8.5"

What's with all the 5'7" claims? If Paltrow is 5'7" then I must be 5'3". Weird though. I always thought she was around my height (5'11.5). She's a very tall woman nonetheless. Downey was probably sporting lifts (or stilts. lol) in Iron Man to appear taller than her.

Here's a picture of Gwyneth. The woman on the left is the model Hilary Rhoda who is meant to be 5'11", and she looks maybe an inch taller than Gywneth. I can't really tell much about their heels but they look about the same.
