Sorry for the absence. I would be wary of footwear assistance on Mr. Z. Like I said, he was a nice guy when I met him at the airport a couple years back. However, I think he is conscious of his height. I stood next to him on the terminal tram but when I asked him for a pic while he was seated at the gate, he asked me to take a seat next to him rather than stand next to me. In flat Nike canvas casual shoes, I was easily 3" taller than him standing (I'm 6') = 5'9. Viper says on 8/Jun/07

I agree with you. If he were 5'10 he would absolutely tower over Priestley, who I think it is safe to say isn't much above 5'6. Maybe he was "measured" with his spiked hair on Stern? Although the thing is, he hasn't had spiked hair in years. Viper says on 8/Jun/07

To me 5'10" would be right for him, remember Beverly Hills 90210 was a relatively short cast, Jason Priestly 5'6" , Luke Perry 5'8 to 5'9" range, etc.
Well according to Howard Stern and this site, Perry is "5'10" or 5'9 and 3/4, which makes Ziering at least 5'11! But then there is Dancing with the Stars, with Ziering clearly two inches shorter than Billy Ray Cyrus who is listed at 6'0 and never higher. Something has to give on one end. Is Perry shorter than 5'10 or Ziering taller than 5'11? I have always contended that the difference between Perry and Ziering is not as great as it would seem, it just looks that way because Perry is so tiny-boned and skinny and walks very relaxed like a John Bender-Breakfast Club while Ziering is your "typical jock": broad-shouldered, big build, stands erect at all times. They are only about 1-1.5 inches apart in reality, body shape and size taken into account. Is it just me or did Ziering seem to grow somehow in his late twenties between the beginning and end of 90210? Nevertheless, he is 1-1.5 inches taller than maximum 5'9 and 1/2 Luke Perry when Perry is actually standing straight (he often slouches and has a relaxed "strut"-style walk). Assuming footwear isn't an issue, this puts Ziering at about 5'10 and 1/2. Viper says on 31/Jan/07

I beleive your sighting Sam, that he is really around the 5-9-5-10 range. And he did look taller on 90210 standing besides shorter guys like Jason and Luke, plus the way they shot that show at a low angle sometimes.
