watching the series turn, i was struck by how short he looks compared to some of the actresses he is acting alongside so i came on the net to find out how tall he is.
he is listed as 5'7" but there is no way that is even close to accurate.
look at the photo above with jamie standing next to taron egerton. this is a photo without an angle that shows their clear relative height. taron's height is listed as 5'9" but in this photo jamie bell is without a doubt at least 3 or even 4 inches shorter.
either taron egerton is taller than the 5'9" he claims to be or jamie bell is far shorter than he admits.

Last night I saw the film I was talking about in my comment from June of last year, 'The Retreat'!
I must say that Jamie looked taller than 5ft7 and is very powerfully built! I'd forgotten that he was only 5ft7, and based on last night's viewing, I would have believed 5ft9+ for him! Camera angles were probably partly responsible, as was the fact that he looked huge next to Thandie Newton! Cillian Murphy, the other main male star in this film, has a well-proportioned body, and also could pass for taller. I think he is about the same height or maybe an inch taller than Jamie, but in this film, you would never have guessed that any of the roles were played by stars of below-average height. They worked well together because they are all about the same amount below average, and then there is the tiny little additional fact that the film is very tense throughout - and well worth checking out!

He seems very comfortable with his height ...I think this paranoia with height applies more with famous... as it was with Robert Conrad who was only called short when arriving in Hollywood.

As soon as I read his own description of himself (above), I realised that yes, I was looking at the right actor of quite a few with 'Bell' as a surname, when I noticed his 'slightly jug ears'!

Together Mara he seems 165-168 cm tall. However imho it is a normal height. Tall people think that all people under their height are tiny however normal height is between low and high values. The average world height is 165 cm.

Just read in Entertainment Weekly Jamie claiming "5-8." He said the CGI transformation of him into The Thing on the new Fantastic Four reboot would instead make him "6-8." I think he's a slightly less than 5-8 and probably more like 171cm.

I know he is listed as 5'7" but in some of his movies he looks taller(5'9") up against tall actors like Hayden Christiansen and medium-tall Daniel Craig. Maybe it is lifts or he has continued to grow into his early 20s.
