How tall is John Savage

Seems roughly 170.5 cm looked tall in 1991 in the line of fire but the role was small to judge

I meet John a couple of years ago, his mom & I was very good friends.. when I had surgery, his lovely sister help me at his mom's house..John is a very nice guy. His family is awesome & so down to earth.I used to drive him around when he came to visit..he like my son a lot.. I believe he's 5'7".. awesome guy!!

I think he does indeed look between 173cm-176cm, in movies he looks even taller. here is one example from hair(1979) Click Here he does not look short at all probably because of the camera angles. I think he is around 175cm peak night time and wake up to 177cm, then nowadays probably wakes up around 173cm and night time 171cm.

Ok I admit it I figured he was low average saw him in many movies he absolutely had to wear big footwear often.
Well either way he was a decent actor very hard to forget he is often in gripping, violent and disturbing cinema.

I met a bloke nicknamed 'Savage' because of his surname, at a party; he had long, yellow hair and was dressed from head to toe in black - and he made a beeline for me!
However, I couldn't take him seriously because he had an unforeseen and unsavoury object sticking out of his nose, and that kind of obliterated any potential interest I might have otherwise had in him!
This bogie-free Mr Savage can have 5ft7 from me! I chose him out of all the Savages because I enjoyed 'The Deer Hunter'! Isn't he lucky to have a comment like this one on his page? 👃

I too thought he was taller, but not over 5'8"...sometimes I've confused him with the Bottoms brothers (Timothy/Sam) whom I also confuse with each other!
Rob could you change the first sentence to "American actor best known for roles in Bad Company, The Deer Hunter, Hair, Inside Moves, The Onion Field, Salvador, Do the Right Thing, The Godfather: Part III and on the TV shows Dark Angel and Carnivale."

I was booked for 2 days on a movie called 'Defending Santa'.
I'm assuming it will premiere on tv during the holiday season.
John Savage is playing the court judge presiding over Santa's case.
We had a few exchanges on set, he's very nice and a good actor.
I wore dress shoes all the time while he wore sandals.
I'm around 6'1" & he almost came up to my eyes.
Therefore, I'd estimate John Savage to stand around 5'8".
I would've liked to provide photographic proof however production was quite strict about such matters.

He must have worn lifts for Dark Angel, because I was absolutely shocked how short he was in Deer Hunter. He didn't look completely dwarfed by Michael Weatherly (almost 6'2"), so I'm guessing he was getting enough help to be around 5'11".

Hmm, didn't look that short in The Thin Red Line. He could be a good inch taller.
