Back in 1994 when Pulp Fiction came out, it would've made sense to me as I beleived Samuel L Jackson was 6ft 3in and seeming in that movie there was only 1 inch between him and Travolta I would therefore have beleived 6ft 2in for Travolta.

and second, Jackson is in lifts in the Cannes clip as I mentioned in my last post...and in addition as I mentioned before...there is only .25" difference between Travolta and Jackson in the 'Pulp' screenshots I posted as is the case on the Diner scene, and that stands as fact unless you can provide proof to refute it.
In regards to the picture I posted, both Travolta and Jackson are standing exactly at the same distance from the camera as it is evident in the distance and position of their feet. Jackson just have the second leg placed more in the background and the light source coming from the left casts a longer shadow behind Jackons which gives the illusion to the untrained eye that he is standing further back, so your comment shows lack of knoledge and attention in critiquing photographs. Also, if you gauge height by comparing Travolta and Jackson heights next to Uma since both men are standing exactly at the same distance from her, there is clearly only .25" height difference between them, thus your comment of "I have no idea why you even posted this pic to try and prove a point" shows your ignorance, unability to render a sound visual analysis based on basic photographic concepts, and gross failed perception. Willis's posture is bent so that gives a shorter illusion. Willis looks 6ft0.25 in that pic while Travolta looks a shade under 6ft2 and Jackson looks 6ft2.5. Thats if Uma thurman is 5ft11-6ft which is likely Heightcritique says on 3/Nov/09

Touché ; but in movies the footwear an actor wears can be negotiated in the contract, and in public appearances some actors wear lifts as part of marketing their image, and unique physique characteristics also add to illusional height. Travolta has low shoulders, long neck and high forehead, and wears low heeled shoes. Jackson has low forehead, short nose, no neck, and high shoulders, which makes him look taller than a person of the same height, and usually wears a decent heeled shoe. But even adding all this factors to the clip I see Travolta looking an inch smaller than Jackson (watch at 3:45). Taking all said factors in consideration, I estimate Jackson at 6'2", and Travolta at 6'1".

If the comment above was really made from Travolta in Larry King "I'm six, a little over six", than the 6'.25" barefoot, and 6'1.25" in shoes is more realistic. That is actually the height range I witness in most of his movies 6'1" to 6'2" in shoes. In all the movies I watch of him he is always above average height which in today's generation of tall people, a 6'00 is average so the extra .25" do make a difference.

Again: TRAVOLTA IS NOT 6'1, even 6'0.5 seems a little bit too much (peak height). I think he wears other shoes than SJ wears and there's still a 1,5-2 inches difference which makes sense: Travolta 6'0-6'0.5 and SJ 6'1.75-6'2.25.

Sometimes the director of a movie wants a certain effect in a shot and makes actors wear enhanced footwear and sometimes he doesn't. There are various scenes in Pulp where Jackson is taller and some where they look similar in height as the screenshots below. In Pulp Fiction the best example of height comparison and in my opinion most reliable is in the the dinner where both are wearing sandals and they stand next to each other before leaving but I cannot find a screenshot yet. They look similar in height giving Jackson a .25" advantage. I will post it if I find it. The point is that unless we can find a picture of both barefoot next to each other on equal level surface, we will never know. However, the photo of Uman Truman next to Travolta shows a 2.5" difference, so if Truman is 5'11", Travolta is 6'1.5". But even adding all this factors to the clip I see Travolta looking an inch smaller than Jackson (watch at 3:45). Since we are citing height here when a person stands barefoot, Travolta's height appears to be accurate, but if we are not, Travolta with a decent heel is over 6'1" easily. In the last dinner scene in Pulp Fiction, Travolta and Jackson supposedly both wearing sandals stand next to each other and Travolta is about .5" to 1" shorter than Jackson so if Jackson is 6'2" than Tranvolta has to be at least 6'1". Watch the scene and verify for yourselves. Clearly Jackson is a tall man but wears heeled shoes in most movies so his height is difficult to gauge, but Travolta's scene dancing barefoot with 5'11" Uma Truman shows that he was at least an inch taller so in this instance I agree with our webmaster in the 6'00" mark for this talented actor. In my opinion, the confusion about Travolta's height is that a 6'00 man is not as tall as it used to be. For instance I've got 2 friends. One is 186cm and the other is 188cm. The 186cm is a champion weight lifter weighes around 118kg (260lbs) huge build. Bit like john goodman. Takes part in strong man compititions. The 188cm guy weighs 95kg. Very lean, but solidly- built, long legged and broad shouldered. He's a yoga instructor and a former champion rower. Also takes part in athletics like long distance runs, 400 metre sprints.
When I see these two guys together it looks like theres 2 or even 3 inches between them when really it's only 2cm.
I bring this up because travolta is a big guy all round. His heavy physique makes him look 6ft or shorter which is just not true.
