the fact is that almost every man on earth add at least a inch or two to their real height, so almost every man on earth thinks that 6-0 is 6-2, 5-9 is 5-11, 6-1 is 6-3 and so on. That makes people think that 6-0 is not tall, 5-9 is a midget and all, even in most countries average height is 5-9 or something less. GSP - any links or references to these studies on twins, or are you just speculating? I know two twins, both 21, one who's been a computer game/WoW addict with poor sleep habits through his entire teen years, and the other who's a healthy jock (involved in both swimming and basketball). Both of them are 5'10 exactly.
I do agree that environmental factors play a part but I think people are overexaggerating their importance. Especially the exercise factor. Height is at least 90 % genetic. There's a reason that the african Watusi tribespeople are tall (most averaging at 6'0) despite not having Western societies range of nutrition. By some people's logic here, the Watusi would all grow to 8 feet tall if they just started playing more basketball. Doubtful.
That being said, I do believe that nutrition plays a big part in height. But, I disagree with comments here that growth would be stunted just over skipping meals back in grade school or not being athletic. The two most out-of-shape people I know are 6'9 and 6'3, respectively.
You would honestly have to be severely deprived/malnourished at an Extreme level (we're talking anorexia for several years during childhood) to permanently affect the genetic building blocks of height. As you know identical twins have the same DNA.
If the identical twins are raised apart I bet the average difference in height would be about 2 inches.

Twin studies, population studies ect all point to height being significantly effected by environmental fators.
The general standard estimate seems to be 90% heriditary and 10% environment.
10% of a six foot mans height is 7.2 inches. Lets assume one person has bad diet, sleep, smokes, does drugs ect during childhood and only gets 50% of his environmentally influenced potential..that is a loss of 3.6 inches. Now his identical twin gets perfect diet, sports, no stress ect and he reaches 100% of his potential.
One of the twins will end up at 6ft and the other at 5'8.4 ...even though we are only talking a few inches difference which is 5% of the 6 footers height..this is enough to have one twin categorized in the tall category and the other one in the borderline short category.
We are just like any other organism..if you provide optimal conditions it will grow to full potential, if not it will be smaller.

Thats wrong. Height can be altered by things such as diet. Why else do you think identical twins can vary as much as 5 inches in height and they have identical genetics. Also why the dutch went from shortest to tallest?
Saying height is ONLY genetic is just something uninformed people say. No offense. It is largely genetic sure but diet, sleeping patterns, stress among other environmental influences can have a significant effect on a persons final height.

Joshua Jackson is very tall and handsome. That said, the last thing I would judge a man for is his height, which is is due to his genetics and unchangeable by even diet or exercise. I mean, he aged perfectly well in the end, because now he looks his age, but some child stars (like Ralph Macchio from Karate Kid) don't look their age until their 30s. wow, this is weird. Josh got moved up a quarter of an inch to 6' 1.5" and Paul Walker got moved down to 6' 2". I saw The Skulls the other day, and the duel scene at the end of the movie puts Jackson and Walker back to back and the difference in height between the two seems to be more than half an inch. My guess would be closer to an inch and half difference between the two. Walker should be moved back up to 6' 2.5" and Jackson should be back to 6' 1". Josh says on 8/May/07

Well, I'm going to restate this in a simpler way. Joshua Jackson was actually about Glenn's height in D3. He looked about 5'8" compared to the 5'4"-5'5" Estevez, so I guess Josh grew about six inches afterwards. He really doesn't look much taller than Glenn in this pic, though, but that's probably because of his slouched posture. But somehow I think he's more of a 6'0"-6'1" instead of a 6'2". btw, Josh is over a foot taller than he was in D1. Like I said, he grew a LOT during adolescence. Chip says on 31/Mar/07
Joshua Jackson grew a LOT during puberty. I mean, compare him to Emilio Estevez in "D1: The Mighty Ducks." If Estevez was about 5'4" to 5'5", then Joshua was about 6 inches shorter. In one of the scenes, he is shorter than Estevez even with skates on. He was about 13 in the first movie(in real life, not his character). In D2, Josh was about 15, and he had grown quite a bit in height. He was around the same height as Estevez, and was slightly taller than him with skates on(he was about 15 in this film). In D3, it is obvious that Joshua Jackson did a lot of growing. He is taller than Estevez by about three or four inches, and would probably be taller than him barefoot. In D3, Josh was probably about 5'8" to 5'10", and he definitely grew since then, because the height difference in the pic with Emilio in the pic above is greater than it is in D3 by about 4 or 5 inches. Josh is at least about 6'0" tall. btw, I'm pretty sure that Joshua Jackson was a late bloomer during adolescence, because although he was 13 in D1, he looked and sounded 10, and in D2 he was around 15, and he looked 13 and sounded 12. Why would it be the truth? Because it is shortest listining? And it isnīt truth that they inflate the height of every celeb, a lot of celebs are actually shorter listed on the internet and magazines than they really are (think of Roger Moore, Tom Cruise, Ernest Botgbine and sometimes stallone with that funny 5 ft 7. listening). And Yes some celebs inflate there own height but itīs ridicolous if you inflate your own height by 2 or 3 inches. I donīt know any celeb who does that.

6'3". The too big factor was the biggest joke considering we were
lightweights and none of us weighed more than 175. We were rather large
in comparison to him, he is an actor who wears work boots around a
bunch of rowers in flip-flops. If you look in the bar scene when they
are singing and drinking and notice some big looking guys, that would
be us - and we're not big guys - the guys who di row with him were all
