Well, I went to a wax museum in san franciso and it had barry bonds. the guys was absolutely enormous, like a bear. Yes, I know he did the steroids and all but this statue literally made him the size of a gorilla. not to mention the size of his head.

I attended a program in which an indian celebrity shahrukh khan stood next to his wax figure for promotion.
The wax model was well 3 inches taller than him.

If Franco is right about the Osteoporosis theory, I think it might be time to give her a peak height and current height listing on this page to justify the change. I believe she was 5'8"-5'9" in her prime (we're talking 10-15 years ago), but judging from the overwhelming number of eye witness accounts, she really can't be much more than 5'6", 5'7" tops now.

Arelya, check your math skills. "If converted correctly" 173 cm is just a hair over 5' 8". Divide 173 by 2.54 (1 in= 2.54 cm) to convert to inches and you get 68.11 inches. 12 inches in a foot. I trust you can do the math from here, but then again maybe not...

Julia used to live in my neighborhood and I saw aher on the street several times. I can't say her exact height of course, but she did not look tall to me, just average, and in flat shoes. Also, make sure that you don't go by the LOWEST nor the HIGHEST estimate possible - that's a key mistake in person-to-person encounters.

Last but not least, don't assume everyone who meets another person can distinguish 1 inch from 2 or 3 that easily - it's a skill that takes a while to perfect.

With that said, I'm willing to say 5'7'' - 5'10'' for Julia Roberts with 5'8''-5'9'' being the most plausible.

I just saw the play Three days of Rain in very good seats. She is barefoot in the second act and standing in front of Paul Rudd (not a tall guy)there is a big difference. Her legs (from knees to feet) are so skinny like two matchsticks. Also, outside the theater, I wait for her in the very first row and she was with heels. Then, she seamed tall but standing in front of me (I am 1.70) there wasnt any difference.

Julia Roberts was barefoot in almost all the takes of the "Casino" scenes in OCEANS ELEVEN. She had to look shorter than her normal self so she won't look towering over Matt Damon, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Don Chead who had to wear character role shoes (normal 1" heels) instead of lifts. You can see her bare feet in the "Bloopers" out takes on the special features. She also might have had a foot injury as you can spot a slight "Limp" in her stride in all casino "gambling floor" scenes...She is 5'8" barefoot...

She is only about 5'6". I saw her at a SAG party a few years back. She and Cemeron Diaz are surprisingly shorter than one would ever expect.

It's very safe to say that all celebs just add 2-3 inches to their height since they appear taller on screen and wear heels to most public events. But, if you ever get the chance to scope them out yourself (try teh Ivy or Robertson Blvd. in L.A.) you will find that all are 2-3" shorter in person. That never seems to take away from their poise and beauty, though. It's a total rush to see their actual stats etc. Oh, and their usually skinny to gaunt.

You know, in Pretty Woman she said her legs were that long "hip to toe" – so she's getting some extra there. Presuming her line was based on fact.

BTW, according to Guinness, longest female legs measure 126 cm/49¾", and belong to British 193 cm/6'4" tall Sam Stacey. Though it's a pretty new category, and I doubt any exhaustive research has been done on the subject. Of modern women, I'd bet the likes of 213 cm/7' Polish basketball player Małgorzata Dydek, or 204 cm/6'8½" Russian volleyball player Ekaterina Gamova have her beat.

I just saw Erin Brockovich last night. She's wearing high heels throughout the whole movie and towers over everyone. men and women. And i mean TOWERS. If you see a shorter person wear high heels they're usually still shorter than other people even in heels. Plus she looks really, really alomost awkwardly tall in the movie, probably a combination of the heels on top of being naturally tall. I would beleive that she's 5'8 or 5'9

To end with this leg issue, i mentioned the metod used in anthropometry.
Measuring from the inseam you are lossing leg lenght. The trocanter is the right point because it's the real tip of the femur, and what for legs concern you sould measure leg bones in it's total length not from inseam (wich saves you something) or from above (wich involves hip bones and it's obvious that those are not part of the legs)
49" (121cm in other sources) is well above my navel, i don't buy it.

As mentioned before I am 182cm tall and 125cm is the beginning of my rib. 153cm is approximately my shoulder length. 125-130 cm should be the beginning of her ribs too.(for someone with 185cm tall). Anatomically it is a must, i think. There should be some place for heart,lungs! Could someone explain me, how it is possible? Because if her legs are 125cm tall then her ribs should be at least 10-15 cm above her legs.Lets say 135-140 and then her shoulders 165-170!!

The better measurement system should be from my point of view the inseam length.It is less arguable and easier to measure. I also think that the legs' length claimed by the artists or models is the end of pelvis bone.(easier to measure). I also don't believe that someone with 6'1" leghth(adriana sklenaranova) could have 49 inches legs' length. Because by me 49 inches is approximately the beginning of my rib.

Usually the women have a comparative longer length of their legs to their total height than men. What i've described is the standard medical model, the right one in terms of science. I'ts obvious that for a 173cm women that's an exageration. I've roughly 1 m (39-40in) being 5'11". Are we to belive everithing that's advertised?

Please don't try and gauge her height by comparison with Richard Gere when they appeared in Pretty Woman. Invariably, Gere's height is listed as 5.10 and a half so Julia, taling into account three inch heels is regarded as about 5'8. Richard Gere would be lucky to be 5'9 and a half wearing very generous heels. His actual height is 5'8 which accords with the numeous accounts of Julia's height being about 5'5 or 5'6.

I was an extra in Miss Congeniality and at a SAG party before the film release, I met Julia Roberts. She is 5'6". I am 5'8".
I have met several celebs and it wouldn't even be worth me trying to tell you how much shorter most of them are because you wouldn't believe me. Julia was a surprising one, though. My friend, who is 5'10" for real, works for William Morris as a talent manager and is not allowed to be in pictures with most of her clients because it would ruin the illusion.

In "Mystic Pizza," there are scenes where it seems AnnaBeth Gish is slightly taller than Julia. I wouldn't quite suggest that AnnaBeth is 5'8" that she's been listed, but is more likely closer to 5'7". There is no way Julia is as tall as her claimed 5'9". So, with AnnaBeth at a more reasonable 5'7", that puts Julia around 5'6".

I agree with Mr X in that women like to be taller than their counterparts in the movies but I think this apply for short actresses. In Julia-Cameron's case both are tall enough, so they do not need to appear taller. I think the explanation here is that both are the same height but like most of us agree Julia and Cameron are closely to 169 cm, max 170cm and not to 175 or 176cm as they are listed in many sites.

How could she possibly still be listed at this when it's totally obvious she is shorter. Having seen the pics of her with Oprah and Natalie "5 foot 5" Portman she looks to be 5'7" at best! All I can say is that if Natalie Portman looks that tall next to her, she's can't be this tall. I've always been suspicious of her wearing heals all of the time and looking taller because of this, but either Julia has shrunken or she was never near 5'9" like she has claimed her entire career.

I was reading a magazine and there was a photo of her with 5'5" Jennifer Aniston, and she only appeared 2 inches taller. Add the comment Justmatt says about her and Brad Pitt. I wonder why is it 5'7" Julia Stiles seems to be the same height as her in Mona Lisa Smile. Also she's now where near 4 inches taller than 5'5" Susan Surandon. Your 5ft 9in claim isn't fooling me Julia Roberts.

I think for woman to grow into her early 20s is extremely unlikely, most girls stop growing at around the age of 15, so the likelyhood of growth plates still being open for a female are extremely unlikely. On the other hand, many males still grow into their 20s, albeit by a few cms tops. I also recall watching an episode of the Late Late Show, where a 5'10" female guest said that she grew her last inch at 21, so I guess it is possible. She also marvelled at Craig Kilborn's height and the fact that she was still much shorter than he in heals.

Let's upgrade her to five eight and a half, if she once said I'm five ight and then five fine, then she's probabably was rounding up, unless she's has schrunk, she's 174 cm.

in ocean eleven she is wearing 4'' heels and in pretty woman when julia and richard are both barefeet he is 2 1/2'' inches taller i guess she is 173 maybe 174 cm

When comparing men's heights with women, do note that a standard heal on a woman's shoe is different from that of a man's shoe. Most women's shoes have atleast a 1.5 inch heal, while a man's shoe is usually around .5 of an inch...women often wear shoes with atleast a 2 inch heal. So unless Julia Roberts is barefoot in a scene with Andy Garcia or George Clooney, it truely must be her shoes. In Erin Brokovich she is ALMOST ALWAYS IN HEALS, I wouldn't be suprised one bit if she was the type of person whom in person wouldn't be as tall as she seams on screen.

(then maybe slightly over five foot 10) And Clooney (who is at max 179 or just 1.80m) and even considering she wore or wore not heels on with him....
I actually did get her height fom an article at 177cm, so either the editor was wrong.. but I think no more than 1.75m
