Just a thought on the "they pick tall girls for models because of how the clothes fit them". What the hell does that "fit" mean when you're doing a photoshoot in bikinis or some sexy lingerie? The guys who read FHM and CQ (for the fascinating articles) aren't that interested in anyone's height.
Honestly, it's fascinating to read women's thoughts on things and how they seem to be fairly different from men's. Primarily in that: men don't give a **** about how tall you are. It's not a factor AT ALL in whether or not someone's sexually attractive.

Editor RobI'd say there wasn't much between their footwear. Justice maybe a little fraction more, by virtue of having slightly more platform on the front.

I think she sometimes diets and gets down to a low weight, but I am 5'10" and in college I was 133 and I was very thin. I also have a very small and delicate frame. I once saw Rebecca Romijn at a party and she was a little taller than me but she was definitely at least 150 pounds, and probably more. A woman taller than 5'10" is not going to look fat at 160. Kate Upton to me looks to be at least 5'10" and she is curvy enough and has at least a medium frame, that I could easily see her at 160 or 165.
BTW, I was sick for a couple months when I was 18 and I got down to 123 pounds. People were seriously worried about me. I did not just look slim; I looked terrible. If a tall woman who looks healthy says she weights 125, she is full of crap.

I have to chime in on this. The wife and I tried Portico, an Italian restaurant just outside Richmond Virginia. Sitting next to the bar was none other than Justin Verlander (Detroit pitcher) and Kate Upton. To put this in perspective, I am 6'3" and my wife, 5' 9". We sat at a table adjacent to the couple. On no less than three occasions, Kate excused herself to use the restroom. One of these times, she returned with my wife, who were both chatting for a moment, then sat down. When I asked what they talked about, she stated that her husband (me) thought Justin was one of the best pitchers to play over the past 10 years. I then noticed Verlander raised his glass to me and continued his conversation with Kate. My point is, when returning from the restroom, Kate was noticeably 2" - 3" taller than my wife. Both were wearing approximately 3" heels. I asked my wife how tall she believed her to be? She agreed that she had to be at least 5' 11" - 6' 0" in her stocking feet as she easily towered over her (which she is not used to). My wife additionally stated that this nonsense about her weighing 135 lbs, is purely rubbish. My wife stated that Kate is much larger boned than she is, and much bigger overall. My wife stated her weight fluxuates between 145 lbs - 150 lbs; therefore would put Kate's weight somewhere between 165 lbs - 170 lbs easily; and could go higher as her large frame can easily handle the additional weight.

[Editor Rob: maybe the clothing looks better with models who are 5ft 9-11 range? They do have more 6ft 3-5 range models but they seem to never list them above 6ft 2.5 range. It's bizarre to me. Just measure and put the correct height.
Personally, I think the modelling industry should employ people of a variety of sizes so it is more realistic with how clothes/styles look, but then they are selling an image, an 'ideal'. 5ft 5 145 pound models, regardless of how pretty their face, are not wanted for runway.]

Yeah for advertising you can understand using only super attractive people to bring out the best in their product and have normal people longing to look like that if they buy the item, but for runway you're not just showing the product, you're showing functionality too, how does the product look when worn? At fashion shows they ought to have a range of heights and builds just to show how they look on different people.

I used to measure for bra's in one of my jobs in the past, if the back size goes up the cup size comes down, for eg, a 34d would be similar cup size to 36c, so a 36e which is what Kate may be would be like a 38dd or 40d or 42c

A Model is supposdely a 'clothes horse' so you notice the clothes and not the model, thats why they would'nt have a shorter curvier woman who would fill the clothes out too well and then they would be more noticed than the clothes.
