I always thought he was 5 foot 7 next to kidman. He was barely taller than ellen. If kidman is 179 than keith is 5 foot 8 max. He is definately taller than tom cruise.

OK, I met him, shook his hand and got a hug in Sept. I'm solidly 5'6 and I had to look up and wonder where to put my, uh, hands (I was standing straight, too, because I didn't want to look like an idiot). I have a photograph with him and he's markedly taller than I am in the photo. If I lost 2in from the way I was leaning in the picture he's still 2-3in taller than I am.
I'd say he's no shorter than 5'8.5 when he's in his typical relaxed stance and goes up to 5'9 easily. I doubt he's 5'10 unless he's standing very straight with shoulders back for some reason. Keep in mind that Kidman has incredible posture and that Urban often stands relaxed on one hip (contrapposto), etc. If a person can gain or lose half an inch depending on what time of day they're measured, they can certainly swing an inch in either direction from posture. He often looks about 2in shorter than she is in photographs, and I can believe that between shoes and posture that their medical heights are a lot closer than the day to day reality. jake, 1.82 m says on 26/Oct/11

I've seen them together and she had on flats and he had on tennis shoes. I'm 5'9" and he's close or a smidge taller and she's taller by 2 or 3 inches. Had her hair up so maybe 2 but definitely taller than me michaelj says on 27/Jul/11

He kind of looks shorter because his head is sort of out of proportion with his body. He's got a big long face and hair which makes his legs and torso looks very short. Shaun says on 12/Jul/11

met him briefly at sydney radio station mmm about 2 to 3 years ago, i am about 5'7 to 5'7.5 in my work boots, keith was wearing cuban heels and we were at eye to eye, dont know about 5.8 for keith id say 5'7 at best, really nice man and great muso Gracie says on 29/Jun/11
I've met Keith Urban, hugged him, and stood eye to eye with him I'm five foot eight and three quarter inches (5" 8 3/4"). Keith is maybe 5'8" tall, and he's got a very small frame for a man. But he does have good muscle tone for his size. lolafalala says on 27/Jun/11
Saw Keith in concert and I'd have to say maybe 5'7" with boots. He looks really small. As for the Kiwi reference, he was born in New Zealand. Haha. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. It's average for men to be taller than their girlfriends and wives because on average, men a taller than women.
Are you suggesting anything that isn't average is bad or shameful? That must be a terrible way to live! :)
Anyway, Urban is somewhere in the "average" 5'8 - 5'10" range, probably on the shorter end of that spectrum. Kidman is much taller than average for a woman. Should we fault her for it? Or fault Urban for not being a giant? That would be weird. Let them live! cid says on 17/Apr/11

Did anyone watch the grammy's? Beggars belief the height's some of you estimate. He's your average 5ft9, like seacrest. Something goes out of whack when people see a man shorter than a woman, even if she's very tall. And something goes out of whack when any celeb between 5ft8 and 6ft is seen in public, or with a very tall person. It's never gonna change. Most people here can't judge height to save their lives. @ elo - you are on the money. Your pic says it all. If Nic is 5'11", then Keith is no more than 5'6". In your shot, they're both wearing runners, & the difference between their eyelines is a good 5 inches (Keith's eyeline is below Nic's chin!), so 5'6" is right on.

I am watching him now performing on The Saints-Cowboys game at halftime. He has those big boots on. I met Nicole the night she won her Oscar, and for sure she is 5-11. She is very typical of female celebs who downgrade their height. In pics, she is at least 2 inches taller than him, and that is with his boots. At BEST he is 5-8. Possibly a little less at the end of the day. |
