OKAY AFTER SOME EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON MY PART I HAVE FOUND THIS
1. I never bought connery being 6'3.
2.I actually read about an hour ago that he said in an interview he was 6'2, then pasued and said between 6'1.5 and 6'2.
3. I also read madame toussad measured him barefoot at 6'1.8 for his was statue and the statue is 6'3 even in the wax model dress shoes and tux for james bond.
3. I'm not surenow anymore. I thought he was an even 6'2 when he was younger. He always looked big to me venus says on 20/Aug/07

I respect that opinion of Connery and I agree with you on the 6'1.5 looking legit 6'2. Connery just doesn't seem to me personally like a candidate for that because he was never particulary lanky or thin. He was trim and in shape, but he was always a pretty big guy, and Big guys don't seem to get that lenghting effect, at least in my expirence both personally and trying to gauge height of others Viper says on 17/Aug/07

Really Viper. He always seemed a tall, legit 6'2 guy when he was younger. I could see him only being 6'1 now, maybe even down to 6'.75, but he was always tall. He was at least as tall as Michael Caine, who was definitly a legit 6'2 back in the 70's. Dave says on 16/Aug/07

He looked real tall in THe Untouchables, especially in those period suits. back in the day the suits were cut form fitting on top and fuller in the pants. It creates a tapering up, and on a lean guy can enhance the apperarece of one height over an inch. This is one of the reasons Cary Grant could look 6'2ish. He was a lean, well proportioned 6'.5 guy who wore these suits well. I doubt he did it on purpose, but those suits enhance height Peetie says on 11/Aug/07
