I've seen various pictures where KD doesn't look at al shorter than AD, and Rob has AD listed at 6'10", so that's what I'm going to go with.

AD measured 6’9.75” not 6’10”. As for KD I listed 6’9.25-.5 range because we don’t know how early the 6’9.5 was. I reckon that if he falls below the mark that it’s only to maybe 6’9 3/8”. Davis is taller than he is like Ice and Warren said but it’s max 1 cm if not just 1/4”. Aldridge only measured 6’10 when he was drafted and May still be that although he does look taller than Duncan so maybe he gained a fraction but he’s not 6’11”.

I just mentioned that in various pictures he does not look shorter than Anthony Davis. I can’t really tell even in the picture you attached whether or not it’s just AD’s hair that makes him look taller. I agree that Durant probably isn’t 6’10” tho. However, he isn’t under 6’9.5”.

Yeah, he really does. Honestly should’ve been a 7 footer lol. Looks massive on the court due to his skinny frame and long arms. People guess me 6’3” all the time for that reason. And also because of inflation but all the same, the illusion is there.

@Editor Rob: it looks like cousins was an early morning measurement as well. Notice where it says the players measured in 2009 that were measured in 2010 got similar measurements? One player did drop 1/4” though. It was Luke Hargondy. But a guy cousins’s size will easily drop half inch between the 1 hour out of bed and evening. I wonder if maybe he was 6’9.5 early morning and 6’9 flat at his afternoon/evening back then and maybe he gained a small fraction or if he’s still the same today?

Durant’s was not a pre draft but I’m not sure what time he was measured. I will say that I don’t think he’s far below 6’9.5”. Maybe 6’9 3/8 at a low

I've seen him coming into the locker room from about 50 feet away at a game several years ago. He's enormously tall. He's a solid 6'10" barefoot. Not 7', not 6'9" or even 6'8", but 6'10". Much of the difficulty in determining his height is because of his thin frame, incredibly long arms and legs with a relatively normal sized torso and hunched posture. He can just look like so many different heights at different times. Basically, he was probably a weak 6'9" when he first entered the league at 19 (maybe around 6'8" to 6'8.5") and grew a solid inch and a half after that. It's not common but certainly not unheard of for young men at the end of their adolescence to push out another inch or two before they're 21 or 22.

the tallest KD can be out of bed in the morning on his absolute best best day is probably 207.5 cm. kD never appears to be a full 6'10 barefoot hes always in the 6'9 1/4 - 6'9 3/4 range. KD does have about 2 inches on LeBron and he has about 2 inches on Paul George. But at times it doesnt even look like a full 2 inch difference between KD and George/ LeBron

He was 6’10 when drafted but he looks taller than all other guys in the 6’9-6’10 range and even looked taller than Tim Duncan when they played together. KD and AD Identical in height there are dozens of pictures that confirm this both for years said themselves that they try to hide their height, prefers not to be listed above 6-10 so they are not asked to play the five so it makes much more sense to conclude that they are lying about their own height, their height is 208-208.5 and if you so insist then there should be a 207.5 minimum.

So is Howard 6’9 out of bed or at a low? It sounds like you use out of bed when it’s convenient for you but afternoon when it’s convenient in the other direction? If you estimate at an out of bed height, you won’t be taken seriously because nobody else does that (here on CH or in society).

Q: Are the heights listed with shoes?
A: No. Assume every height as though the celebrity was measured barefoot. This isn't the NBA! I make no claim as to whether any listed height is an evening or early morning one, but technically I think you are better off saying your height based on the time when people get measured on average, which obviously wouldn't be out of bed, but might be about 5 hours after waking. After you've been standing for 5-6 hours you won't shrink much more during the rest of the day compared to how much you shrink in the time period from waking up till lunchtime.
As of November 2017, there are around 5100 Male and 5100 Females listed, with an average peak height of 5ft 10.75 for the Males and 5ft 5 and 1/4 for the Females.

KD and AD Identical in height there are dozens of pictures that confirm this both for years said themselves that they try to hide their height, prefers not to be listed above 6-10 so they are not asked to play the five so it makes much more sense to conclude that they are lying about their own height, their height is 208-208.5 and if you so insist then there should be a 207.5 minimum.
As for LeBron no one is trying to compare him to the magic it's nonsense, there are hundreds of pictures that prove that LeBron is 203 cm (especially with players measured 6-7, like Tatum, Carmelo, Montrezl and more) he is measured 6-8.5 which is about 204 cm. he came to the league at the age of 18 (At this age it can still be grown a little) in 201.5 cm Anyone who does not notice that he has grown by about 1.5-2 cm is obviously not looking right.

Wall is about an inch shorter than Bradley Beal who is max 6’3”. Wall according to people who have met him (I live right outside of DC in Virginia) they say Wall is about 6’2”. That makes sense though because curry was measured in 2009. Wall in 2010

No this is totally you Bagheera and you don’t appear to be all that intelligent. You falsified a measurement for Kyle Kuzma. He has only ever measured 6’8” (twice). His listed height (6’9 or 6’10) on a roster is not his barefoot height. He was 6’8” in 2017 and 2019. He didn’t grow at 24 years old (19) or 25 years old (when he entered the 20-21 season). He is still 6’8”. So no you do not get your info from the same source as I do. You are the one who makes up stuff clearly

Again where do you get your info? Kuzma never measured 6’9”. He measured 6’8 when he was drafted. His 6’9 listing when he first came in was his shoe measurement which is par for the course being everyone else was listed in shoes. So yes the real question is where do you get your info?

LeBron throws everything off. If going off afternoon heights he would be 6’7-6’7.5 range (to give it a wide range) I think 6’7.25 like he was when he was drafted. KA188 met him and said that at 188.4 cm that Lebron had a solid 5” on him. That would make him around 201ish. 6’7.25 is fair

@Canson: there is some weird stuff going on with the NBA heights. It all started with the new barefoot policy from the NBA last season, which wasn't enforced, but has caused changes, inconsistency and more confusion, not less. Before, we knew that 95% of nba heights were roughly shoe heights, so it was easy to figure out roughly how tall people were (even without the combine data). Now we supposedly have barefoot heights, but still have quite a few shoe heights, some teams who aren't really following those guidelines and many others wear they just knocked an inch off of guys who were overlisted by two inches before. I'd like to propose a solution for the NBA heading into next season: they said this was done for Vegas and gambling (which makes no sense). But going by that, send official barefoot rosters to the betting sites. They can share them with whoever needs them. And then let teams go back to listing players as they wish. The players hate the policy, for the most part, and it's just a mess. I'm seeing now that some teams released preseason rosters that were different than regular season, then we have regular season rosters that don't match between nba.com and ESPN etc, and then we have some teams that even released preseason measurements online (email me at therealshanegray@gmail.com for the details) and then their regular season roster has some guys listed an inch and a half above those measurements. It is all more confusing than it ever was before. From one team to the next, it varies. Lakers changed a bunch of heights this year. Pelicans, etc. Crazy.

@Shane: for consistency purposes I agree. They should keep it the way it was. I can’t blame the teams and players either because the NBA started that trend some 40 or more years ago (Magic actually came out in 1979 lol). You had some in the 70s that were such as Dennis Johnson who admitted he wasn’t 6’4”. I saw Wall at 6’4 on ESPN but NBA.com he’s 6’3”. Then on NBA.com, Dwight Howard is listed at his “amended 6’10” from last season but ESPN he’s actually down to 6’9” now. But in Howard’s defense, he claimed 6’9” as his true height despite being listed 6’11 through the 2019 season and he was drafted in 04. I wonder if Howard was simply listed the same height as Anthony Davis by the Lakers or was he just measured very early in the morning. It seems inconsistent as Davis’s height seems like a low for him. Funny thing is I predicted that’s what he would measure as an afternoon height when he was measured by Jimmy Kimmel on TV at 6’11” in shoes. It adds up as Davis measured 6’9.25 ad a rookie but it was likely early morning. I think he was shorter than Durant when he came in but maybe now he’s slightly taller so makes since he would’ve been 6’8.75 as a rookie (afternoon height) and 6’9.75 now. It shows that Cousins was morning measured at 6’9.5 being he’s shorter. More than likely 6’9”. Then with the Sixers, I’m not sure what happened last year with their measurements. Joel Embiid looks like a low. Ben Simmons looks like a shoe measurement. Not sure if 6’8.25 would be his low but it wouldn’t surprise me if it isn’t or is really. To be honest I don’t see less than 6’8” ish but don’t see any higher either. Then Al Horford. Horford measured 6’8.75 as a rookie and 6’9.25 this season. His is likely accurate but just early morning. I don’t see him having grown and they kept him at 6’9 with OKC so I doubt he’s really taller than that. He’d likely have gotten listed 6’10” if he were as that would be his morning height

@Canson I despise the NBA pressuring teams to list players as NBA demands. Weve had shoes heights for 40 years. I hate it. I only now cheer for the handful of teams still listing their players in shoes. I admire them for doing as they wish. The players hated the new policy. Fyi, last I checked all the rosters most rookies were being listed shoe heights for almost every team. So perhaps nba didnt emphasize this policy this year and teams will list new players the old way again. Harder to do that for the players they already certified this year. Last I checked wall was still listed 6'4" on some of the Rockets rosters on some sites. Do I believe shoe heights are the true heights of our body? Of course not. But this messes up historical comparisons to over a generation of players going back to the 80s. They did shoes too long for this to make since. They play in shoes and I see no issue with continuing that tradition? Especially when any real fans realized they were shoe heights and the players real heighr were usually one to two inches lower.

@Robbe and Recapa: I’ve been on this site for over 5 years now and for the life of me, I never get why and when people assume or want a celeb to be taller than they’re measured. John Wall when he played in the DC Area was not more than about 6’2” barefoot yet people swore up and down he was 6’4 and that Bradley Beal was 6’5 as both were listed. Wall measured 6’2.75 early morning. Ironically, Beal was measured 6’3.25 in 2012 and has been listed 6’3” since they officially measured him in 2019 and he is taller than Wall. But I guess taller is better for their careers and it must surely improve play somehow? even though Wall is off to a great start in Houston this season only being listed 6’3” now; and Beal has had the best season plus of his career going back to the beginning of the 2019-20 season only being listed 6’3 since then. Strange how things work, huh?

Sure measurements can be off at times maybe by 1/4” or so but Could that person measure lower than they did being the site standard is afternoon or at best lunchtime height which for most is 1/8” above their afternoon or at best maybe 1/8-1/4” in some cases? That’s the only real debate. I’ve seen too many times here where someone says “well the combine measurement is official” regardless of the fact that it’s documented to be(in most cases) early morning esp in the NFL every year and NBA most years, but that listing is used for comparison purposes against another measured athlete (who could’ve been measured at their afternoon height) but the latter is automatically 1/2” taller than listed because of the morning measurement of the former. And don’t even get me started on the validity of the measurement such as did it really take place or did it occur in shoes? Strange that JJ Redick showed 6’4 barefoot 6’4.75 in shoes at the combine and essentially the same size as D Wade when he was drafted and was penciled in at 6’3 last season after the official measurement and its not unfathomable that he’s less than 6’3” being a legit 6’3 would measure 6’3 3/8 (which gets rounded to 1/2 in the NBA and rounded again to 6’4) or even the full 1/2” after being awake an hour or two. There are exceptions as I doubt Brandon Ingram is less than 6’7”.

Back Kevin Durant, who’s avg guess is over 6’10, he only measured 6’9.5 and barely looks taller than DeMarcus Cousins does next to Draymond Green. He was listed 6’9.25 then 6’9.5 then .75 for a few days then back to 6’9.5 after his actual listing came out. Yet he looks shorter than 6’9.75 DeAndre Jordan and 6’9.75 Anthony Davis. More than 1/4. It’s also worth noting that Dwight Howard measured 6’9.75 last year (presumably a morning measurement being he’s shorter than Davis) and was listed 6’10” but is now only listed 6’9” on ESPN’s website. Howard himself claimed 6’9 before last season. Durant I doubt is much taller if at all. And you see it all the time with Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant or any other measured athlete who got measured around their afternoon height or with Dwayne Wade previously when he was listed at his alleged measured height, they’d keep him at that even though it was proven not to be his actual height and inflate a legitimately measured athlete. Wade is about 6’3 and always has been. But Wade’s 6’3.75 measurement previously before anyone took the time to actually figure it all out that he was never that tall was good enough to be considered or claim 6’4” despite being much closer to 6’3 (wouldn’t surprise me if he falls under by a tiny hair) yet Charles Barkley rounding down to 6’4 or being rounded down to 6’4 being he himself usually claims 6’5, is downplaying his height even though he’s been described 6’4.5 for most of his career and measured 6’4 5/8”. Or other football players like Tim Tebow who never looked their measured heights, instead inflating the legit measured ones. It’s never that guys like that aren’t as tall as advertised. Or it’s that someone got measured “at night” (we all know afternoon and evening don’t vary from one another unless under extreme conditions which is extremely rare) or was he “properly measured”? Another example is Conan O’Brien. He had yet to be officially measured on record and people have pushed his height to as high as 6’4 1/2 or even 6’5 just because he claimed to be a little over 6’4 so by deduction they push Barkley or Kobe to 6’5.25 and 6’5.5 respectively instead of taking the time to actually analyze what the real issue is.

P.S. Marc Gasol is 6'11 barefoot, and 7ft in shoes. He is max an inch shorter than a legit 7ft barefoot Pau Gasol. Ibaka's 7ft listing is a bit mystery, maybe he was tiptoeing, or was measured with extra thick shoes.

@Height: he probably is approaching that mark today maybe 235 at worst but being a bit over 6’9” that’s not as surprising if he did weigh that much. but when he came in the league he looked a bit thinner. That’s a good observation though about the midsection. But putting it into perspective he’s probably 2+ inches taller than a 6’7” Lebron James and Lebron looks much bigger only being maybe 10 lbs heavier. I have Lebron around 250 at most. I’ve never believed he was 260 or 270. Maybe something like mid 250s in Miami at one stage but when he got back to Cleveland he looked around 245.

@Editor Rob: he can pass for 6’10 easily but if you compare him to Anthony Davis or Andre Drummond or any of those cats, he isn’t over 6’9” range. LaMarcus Aldridge measured 6’10” flat and looks taller than all of them. But I can believe him possibly being 6’10” and a bit today perhaps.

I buy his 6'9 1/2 from Rob listing a lowest but weight at 240 lbs seem BS, i just can't see him anything over 220 if is highest, he use to be listed 6'9 & 220 from the past i guess his real weight around 212-215 then he might gain a little more weight from recent years did look 220 from past NBA listing but anything above 223 is hard to believe. He literally always look like the most skinny guy in the court with every teammates.

@Robbe: yea the biggest variable is there is no consistency. We don’t know what time of the day the measurements took place and some guys are still listed at previous listings when they aren’t. Then a couple like Ben Simmons and Lebron etc grew an inch. Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Harrison Barnes and all of Sacramento. I would really believe that Davis was an afternoon measurement as he claimed to grow an inch since being drafted and admitted he didn’t want to be listed at 6’11” on more than one occasion. Now we can’t always take claims at face value but seeing as how he does look 2-3 inches taller than Lebron and actually appears taller than Dwight Howard during the game along with what he said which seemed honest, I could buy him growing an inch. It’s possible that his 6’9.25 pre draft equated to a 6’8.75 afternoon measurement in 2012. I remember AD also said that KD was taller than him at one point and this was likely when he was drafted. To add to that, he was measured on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, but that appeared to be a quick and dirty (Sloppy). Davis has long hair and it wasn’t easy to tell from the camera angle if it was the full 6’11” with shoes or maybe a hair under. I know that when that video was first posted here, I pointed out to Rob that I believed 6’9.75 to be his actual height due to the shoe measurement and it turns out that it is what he measured this season. But that makes it more confusing being it’s easier to believe Howard’s pre draft 6’9” measurement more so than his training camp measurement this past October. If he did grow, it’s likely to about what Kevin Durant is. And I say more confusing because a few players appear to have received afternoon measurements whereas the majority appear to have received morning measurements. KD and AD are two guys who would likely prefer to use a lower measurement than a higher one but a clear example of a person who I believed to receive an afternoon measurement in 2007 was Al Horford at 6’8.75 but 6’9.25 is his year in the morning. Another was Amare Stoudemire who was 6’8.5 and then got 6’9.25 (I think) in the morning before practice. Then you have someone like Austin Rivers or maybe JJ Redick. Rivers received 6’3.5 when drafted but is listed 6’3 now and Redick 6’4 now listed 6’3. Now that could be that the measurements weren’t accurate when they were drafted but in some cases prior to 2009 players got measured in the afternoon and measured at those heights legitimately without the benefit of laying down prior to the measurement. Another example is Brandon Ingram. It’s very hard to see him measuring at under 6’7” and most of us believed him to be closer to 6’8” until that came out. I could still see 6’7” and some change but he surely is an afternoon solid 6’7” guy at absolute worst. He was only slightly shorter than Kuzma and even looked taller on occasion and he always towered over Lonzo Ball. Then some guys were left at their previous listings and they certainly didn’t grow. Others such as Jordan Clarkson, Jimmy Butler, DeAngelo Russell, DeMar Derozan etc just lost one inch from their previous listing when all four are still over listed by an inch just according to their Morning pre draft measurements. They should be Listed 6’3, 6’6, 6’3, 6’5 even using morning measurements being they round 1/2” or above up. Just using the eye test I would say:

AD 6’9.75
KD 6’9.25-.5
Drummond 6’9.25

That is further complicated when you see the expanded version of picture you posted that includes LaMarcus Aldridge who measured 6’10” which was likely an afternoon measurement In 2007. LA can look over 6’10” to tell you the truth.

@Robbe: Walton was likely not even that in his prime. He looked nearly 3” shorter than Kareem and even said that in an interview with Dan Patrick when he asked him and accused him of being taller. It’s possible he was like Durant where he was a hair over 6’11” Afternoon height and was listed 6’11”. Maybe 6’11.25 is what he should be listed . Problem is that people that size don’t have the best posture so if you see someone like that it would appear taller. I have a 6’7” friend with equal (great) posture to mine and that is the standard to which I see 6’7”. If I see someone else with worse posture or who is really 6’6 range it always looks off to me. It’s imbalanced when I see my 6’6 flat friend at times as he is opposite with poor posture and can look eye to eye with me at 6’4.25 on occasion when in reality he is a solid 6’6” guy only coming down to that in the afternoon and waking Around 6’6 7/8 in the morning. Durant may be 6’9-6’9.5 range but not less or more. And he also has good posture at times when he appears taller than most and poor posture when he tries to fit in

Bill is obviously not even close to his current listing. Looks an inch shorter than Möttölä, so 6'9 might be close to the truth for Bill. What comes to KD, he looks slightly shorter than Bill there, but camera angle favours Bill, so they might be the same height, or KD even hair taller. KD is definitely not under 6'9, that's for sure.

@Sean william Winter My parents is tall but not extreme tall. Mom 5'9 and dad 6'0 peak and seven boys include me in the house were all over 6'0 and four of us were over 6'4 up to 6'7 1/2. I don't think my brothers and i all follow my dad gene, sometimes it could be taller grandparents a bit of tall gene passing down to the next of next generation down which my mom's dad is 6'4 that explain why two of my brother got up 6'7 1/2, one 6'4 3/4 and me 6'5 5/8 all thanks to grand-dad.

@Shane: yea we’re different. Some days I wear Timbs or Jordan’s. I’ll be 6’5.5” in them in the afternoon but that’s about it. I still claim 6’4”. When in that type of footwear I’m often guessed 6’5” sometimes 6’6”. I’ve never been tempted to claim either tho except when I played college ball I would say close to 6’5”. Otherwise 6’4”.

@Canson I know what u mean I was asking avout a player unless I'm missing one of my comments. Around here so many average people claim shoe heights that if you claimed 6'5" which is about your early in day barefoot height nobody would doubt it. Many would say hes at least and maybe 6'6". I dont think I've ever had anyone guess me under 6'2" even though I can dip as low as 6'1" which is also likely due to almost always wearing some type of Air Max which are pretty tall so even if I'm at a low I'm still standing about 6'2 1/2" in my normal shoes.

@Shane: to answer what you said, I may look 6’4.5 to 6’5” to some honest people if they measure earlier in the day but if a person is an honest person who measures barefoot in the afternoon and I have a regular 1” shoe or go down to 5/8” then I look 6’4” to them only being about 1/4” over. Typically the most I should look to the average person is 6’4 1/2 since the average person doesn’t measure out of bed. Usually minimum an hour or two. Most don’t even know it does vary. Usually outside of this site, I never even bring that up except with my taller friends who claim their afternoon heights too and we discuss it occasionally. Other than that I don’t. If someone claims a height I will bounce it off my afternoon since I’m typically asked or gauged after I’ve been up for some time and I’m almost always closer to that height. When someone asks I always say 6’4”. Of course there are times I get a 6’3 range guy who claims 6’4” or 6’2.5 or so claiming 6’3 but I still maintain 6’4”. Really no desire on my part to be any taller either whereas in your case you prefer 6’2” over 6’1 and change for your claim. It’s gonna vary person to person. I know some athletes will claim their height in shoes and not even say it’s in shoes. You on the other hand are at least honest in that respect in that you would say that is a shoe height. Lol I have encountered some that don’t. One tried to convince me and a friend after he inflated us after repeatedly being told he’s not the height he claims, why he should be allowed to claim his shoes as a last ditch excuse because another guy stood up and told him the same thing and flat out said that he was a liar. Two people is one thing but When you try to inflate a third person you lose face and he resorted to it. It became well I walk around in shoes so I should be able to claim them. You all should claim yours too. This is a guy who was slightly shorter than me probably 6’3.5-.75 who claimed 6’5”. Didn’t help that my 6’5.25 friend was over an inch taller even with flats on and that I had him by half inch at least

@Rob: you mentioned Durant perhaps not forcing posture. Some guys naturally stand their best already. I don’t have to force mine typically when I stand as it is habit

He measured 6’9.5 a few weeks ago so how would 6’9.75 make sense?

@Rampage: either to make his accomplishments more impressive or because so many people make it a point to make him taller than he is. To be honest we don’t even know what time if the day he measured 6’9.5. Very possible he never grew. Durant has proven prior to him embellishing his height to be a truth teller in a liar’s world at least on paper. Of course these guys who were really 6’6” and listed 6’8 or 6’9” forced him to be called out
