6 ft even is indeed about right. On Jonathan Ross he was 1-1.5 inches shorter that Ross. So if Ross is 6'1"-6'1.5" then 6' flat is right for Fishburne.

Fisburne 182 - 183? I don't think so. I'm 184 and thick set and when I met him he squared up to me as a joke, like to take me on, and he just had it I reckon. We were both barefoot, it was down at the gym. He's such a powerful great looking guy, he kinda hunches it up a bit. 185, gotta be.

I think Fishburne is 5'11 - 5'11.5'' range.In "Deep Cover" he was 4 inch shorter
than Jeff Goldblum.Solid 5'11 but not 6'0.

As with my comment about Bill Murray,Fishburne is surprisingly small. I'm 6'1" and could easily see the top of his head when I stood next to next. I'd put him at no more than 5'9"

I didn't say he was "nice," a lot of people can seem "nice" and are anything but. What I actually said was, he is a gracious gentleman..there's a big difference. I was just one of dozens of people that he saw that night and he didn't know me at all. He was still a gentleman. I've met plenty of actors, stars included, that might smile, shake your hand, pose for a picture, but still make you feel like they'd rather be anywhere else. Maybe that's your experience with Mr. Fishburne, when you're trying to pose for a picture with him on the street, but it wasn't my experience nor was it any of the people I was with. Besides, how could you possibly know how the man acts "most of the time"? Do you stalk him constantly?

Just met Laurence tonight after his Broadway show Thurgood (he was excellent). In fact, met him in his dressing room backstage. I chatted with him close up and shook his hand. He was wearing flat slippers, no boots, lifts, etc. and was at least 5'11", if not 6 ft. And also a true gentleman, very gracious.

This is a little bit of a gift, he's closer to 5'11". Another bit of info,I also meet Keanu Reeves in LA just after he finished the Replacements. We had on the same type of shoes and we were exactly the same height,I am exactly 6', hope this helps

The first time I ever saw Samuel L Jackson in a movie was the 1988 Spike Lee joint "school daze" in which he looks over 4" taller than Laurence Fishburne.

I saw Lawrence walk by on the street years ago on the upper west side of Manhattan. He was walking slowly with a beer in a paper bag. He was wearing a kind of lavender-colored leather suit and checking out a pretty girl who walked by him. he really looked like he was about 6' or thereabouts. I'm just under 6' so I was trying to gauge his height and I respected that he was truly tall not a fraud actor.

Fishburne was an inch smaller than Sam Neill in Event Horizon, or at least about 2cm smaller and Neill is listed as 6'0 which looks right.

I agree with Taylor. I was SHOCKED at how "un"-tall Fishburne is in person. I am 6'1.5" and he was definitely shorter than me. I don't know if he is as short as 5"8", but he is definitely not a "tall" person.

This is so, so, so, not true. I'm just barely 5'10" and when I met Laurence Fishburne, I had to look down. He's about 5'8". I met him at a Circuit City, he probably didn't wear his lifts that night.

In Red Heat, Laurene Fishburne looked around the same height or slightly shorter than 5'11" Jim Belushi. I'd say 5'11" is the correct height for him.

I met him many years ago (back when he was making Cadence). If I had to venture a guess I'd go with the 6 foot mark, but I'm not the best judge, I'm on 5'2" ;)

I would say that he is around 181-182cm tall. He looked almost as tall as Sam Neill in Event Horizon. In fact, he looked the same size in one particular scene. I think that he is about a cm shorter listed above.

I was watching "What's Love Got To Do With It?", the other night. Fisburne truly is 5'11". He was barely taller than the petite Angela Bassett when she had her heels on. Yet another actor who knows how to manipulate his height well.

He carries himself taller, but I saw him in New York at the Tony Awards, and I saw him in LA at the Osmosis Jones premiere, and walked past him - he is 5'11" at best.
