Jeff, Glenn is clearly leaning down towards Feist, who is just standing normally.

i'm 5'2.5 and met Feist when she was in town for the Junos (Canada's Grammys) last weekend. We were the same height, both in flats. She might have been slightly shorter, but not much. I think 5'2-5'2.5 is accurate for her.

If Glenn is 5'8" she's easily taller than 5'2" on the photo.
Look at the eyes and foreheads, there's like 3-4 inches difference.
She's more like 5'5" unless she's wearing 2-3 inches heels...

Okay - I'll lay off, Feist. Still like her, she's got to make money, but I hope she stops before everything she does is seen as a novelty, a commercial.

I came across this page after googling Feist's height. I always had the impression she was tall (guess it might be the face + slender body look) and still didn't even notice her slight stature on stage in Sydney over the weekend. It was only when a friend mentioned that she was in the same festival bathroom as Feist and was surprised by how short she was that I checked it out from curiosity. FYI I'll be posting vids from the Sydney show on my youtube Click Here when I get time.

everything you said makes sense sf.luckily for me i dont remember her music well, and i dont know the commercials your talking about cause i dont view the tube.i listen and own so much stuff that i forget what i heard sometimes.and i hate killing music by repeated listening.sometimes ruins the magic for me.
sf says on 1/Mar/08
Oh yes - obviously, the commercials have been a big promotion for her career, no doubt about it. But, you wonder when it's going to stop. I understand wanting to make money off of my work, but I'd personally rather develop a following, get appreciated for my music first, etc. But what you said, D. Ray is true - the commercials have ruined it for me. An interesting song like 1234, like you, just makes me think of commercials - iPods, etc. I don't even hear the song or the meaning, I just see iPods. Is that what she wants? 10 years from now, when she puts out a "Best Of" album, it's just going to remind everyone of selling products, unless she decides she wants people to hear her music for what it is. Oh well - I guess that's what the world is coming to, more and more - money, money, money...Oh yes, this site is about height...ummm...5'2" and 1/2....have no idea...

interesting theory d-ray.its possible.but mellencamps is more sketchy cause he was known.unless your talking about an older story from the 80s.a newer artist might need the help.
D. Ray Morton says on 1/Mar/08
I rewatched a year-old interview with Mellencamp recently where he was defending his decision to let Chevrolet use one of his songs for the reason that they were actually more of a record company to him than his proper record company...in terms of promotion, etc. Maybe it was a similar case with Feist? (Benefit of the doubt here.)

Yes, I find her voice/style interesting, too, though I honestly thought I was listening to Regina Spektor the first time I heard her...

exactly sf.nothing wrong with being a sellout i guess if you have to make money.but then dont complain about my pickguard.
glenn says on 28/Feb/08
alot of musicians hate signing pickguards and mainly guitars.they dont ever want you to profit.alot are cool and dont care too.
sf says on 28/Feb/08
Well, you have to wonder what contractual obligations she might be under too. I don't now. I mean, I hate modern music, but I find her voice and style very interesting. But, lately, she has become the "Jingle Queen" on TV. She must have 3 or 4 songs complementing commercials right now, which makes you wonder. If I wrote some great songs, and started to get really big, or at least be drawing some heavy interest, commercials would be the last thing I'd want to do. Music's about the music. Not selling iPods, etc. etc. But, if she's willing to sell product after product on tv, a pickguard wouldn't be asking too much, you'd think...
D. Ray Morton says on 28/Feb/08
Glenn - so my instinct was right. Nice until she had to sign a pickguard...how lame. She should be grateful that people would want a signed pickguard. But I guess if you have Steve Jobs in your corner, you don't have to be nice.

sf - exactly. Whenever I hear "1234," all I see is an iPod Nano.
glenn says on 27/Feb/08
thank you sf.i could hug you if i could.you got my point tremendously.she signed one guard really small, but put my friends name john really big on it.what celebs dont realise is that we can erase it.the balls of these celebs is that,i had a ton of vinyl for her to sign.thats money in her pocket on sales and shows we were fans.moronic.
sf says on 27/Feb/08
Wouldn't sign a pickguard, but sold her soul to the advertising industry?? I can't turn on the tv, without hearing one of her songs in some commercial...
glenn says on 26/Feb/08
she was wearing big boots.she was nice.until she had to sign a pickguard.she seemed aloof a bit to begin with.
D. Ray Morton says on 26/Feb/08
I always thought Feist would be taller. She has a "tall person" facial structure (i.e. longish face). 5'2½"? Must be wearing KISS boots here.

She seems like she might come across as aloof - just something about her. Was she nice in person?
glenn says on 25/Feb/08
sia was 5-4.fiest had some big heels here i guess.and i always lean in with women.
Editor Rob says on 25/Feb/08

steph says on 25/Feb/08
