Yes, 6'3"-6'3.5" nowadays. I don't know how the hell they came to 6'5" for Lou.
Ed(1) says on 1/Jul/09
Rob has him at a good listing, he looked 6ft3 when I met him a few years ago. The guy is still a beast! Big King says on 1/Jul/09
Well, I'm sure that his big head muscular built makes him look shorter than he is. If he would have an athletic body type, he would look taller. Well, Hulk Hogan is 6'4" nowadays as he stated and Lou looked almost an inch shorter than Hogan so Lou can only be 6'3"-6'3.5" nowadays. Danimal says on 30/Jun/09
He's around 6'3 1/4" today. He lost over an inch since his younger days. Big King says on 29/Jun/09
I'm sure that Lou got measured 6'5" with shoes or he stood 6'4.5" barefoot and they rounded it up to 6'5", so that would make him every bit of a weak 6'4" height nowadays. Rob, what do you say? Danimal says on 29/Jun/09
Over 6'4" before shrinkage occured. Looks to have dropped to 6'3" nowadays. He's not old, but you can tell his has a slight hunch in his neck/upper back/shoulders and his legs do look shorter. He claims he has done one too many heavy squats over the years. Mamun says on 29/Jun/09
He was quit nice to me ! What did you hear Alex2 ?

Mamun robert says on 28/Jun/09
I had a picture taken with lou in 2000. And about the same height as the guy in this picture. In mine he isnt leaning foward,he is standing straight and tall. The top of my head is at the bottom of his chin. But you have to figure that 9 years have past.He probably is shrinking,my dad was 6 feet tall when he was younger im taller than he is now!!! Alex2 says on 27/Jun/09
I hear Lou is an absolute jerk in real life, what was he like Mamun? CaptainSpaulding says on 24/Jun/09
Hes 6'3" in the photos with Mamun and 6'2.5" in the photo with Rob which is probably the most recent.
And I dont think he was 6'5" or 6'4.5" in his prime because its rare for someone to lose 2 or 2.5 inches.
So id say put 6'4" prime, and 6'2.5" peak. rony192cm says on 23/Jun/09
Lou was probably 6'4.5 back in the early 70's but they rounded to 6'5. That's why this number went into the circulation. Nowdays he's lucky to hit 6'3 out of the bed Big King says on 21/Jun/09
I mean, Ferrigno's height sources were 6'4.5"-6'5" and that's a clear proof that he stood a legit 195cm. It was often confused with 6'4.5" and 6'5". Anonymous says on 20/Jun/09

Rob. i didn't know people lose 1 and a half inch Anonymous says on 20/Jun/09
A perfect 6'3 nowdays. Big King says on 19/Jun/09
GeorgeStrombo, thanks for the information but a half inch is nothing. He might be a weak 6'5" in his prime but he's really not above 6'4" nowadays. Normally a human has the possibility to lose about an inch at the age of 57, so yes, that would put Lou at 6'3.5"-6'4" nowadays. That's the result. He looks 6'2"-6'2.5" beside Rob and 6'3" beside Mamun. On several TV shows such as King of Queens he appears closer to 6'4". 177cmmm says on 19/Jun/09
lou was the true hulk :) Tom says on 18/Jun/09
Lou is 57 years old. He was listed at 6 ft 5 in his prime and I would say he is around 6 ft 3.5 in today. Great guy. Brad says on 18/Jun/09

Big King: Yes, Lou was measured at 6'4.5" during his football days for CFL Toronto Argonauts in the 1960s. It says in its football records and was verified by a member. Don't forget he was stated at 6'5" in the 1977 Strongest Man Contest where he also was just as tall as the 6'5" Brian Oldfield (who won the competition).
So yes, Ferrigno was measured at a strong 6'4.5". Big King says on 12/Jun/09
serling Brown, nobody believes your lie about Lou's height. Normally a man with a height of 6'5" would stand out and he would also appear gigantic in some photos and film scenes. Lou looks nowhere that height. Even in his younger days he could hit 6'4" but nothing more than that. I wonder how they came up to 6'5". Did they measure him in his prime? If it is so then I'm sure that he got measured with shoes. serling Brown says on 10/Jun/09
I stood next to Lou on the Asbury Park, NJ, beach the day he won Teenage Mr. America. This was around 1970. I saw this guy a head taller than anyone else, surrounded by reporters, and I wondered who he was. I pushed my way up to him. Wearing shoes, I was nearly 6 feet tall back then. Lou was barefoot. He looked every bit of 6'5". I stood about two feet away, facing him, while he was being interviewed. I remember craning my neck to look up at him. I'd put my money on 6'5". He could not have been less than 6'4". sid says on 8/Jun/09
GeorgeStrombo 6'8 is a joke for lou.. 6'4'5 in his hay days.. Anonymous says on 7/Jun/09
Has always looked 6'3". Even on the Hulk vs 6'5" Dick Durock, he looks at least an inch or two shorter. Definately never over 6'3.5" Big King says on 7/Jun/09
He's really not more than 6'3.5" nowadays and a strong 6'4" in his prime. Hugh 190cm says on 5/Jun/09
6ft4.25 peak and 6ft3.75 now. Big King says on 3/Jun/09
GeorgeStrombo, you're absolutely right. Ferrigno was 6'5" maybe straight out of bed and 6'4.5" later. GeorgeStrombo says on 1/Jun/09
sid: It says 6'5" in Pumping Iron when Ferrigno is getting out of the car. Not 6'8". In the commentary by George Butler in the additional features, he somehow called Ferrigno 6'8" probably because he forgot his exact height, still it was completely laughable since Ferrigno was not even a full 6'5" and Butler had met with him in real life several times. Big King says on 1/Jun/09
Lou Ferrigno at 6'5"?!?! LOL!!! He looked definitely 3-4 inches shorter than these 2 guys on the video. He can only be a strong 6'3", no more!!! Duhon says on 28/May/09

you guys are great! I love the comments "no more than..." "not even..." my favourite was "6'8" Richard Moll simply towers over him." btw, "towers" means a "person or thing that resembles a tower in height, strength and dominance". Moll certainly does NOT tower over Lou. I find this site frustrating because people seem to feel more height = more strength. I would must rather prefer to fight Richard Moll than Lou in their prime despite the fact I know Moll lifted weights and was in shape. Chaz says on 25/May/09
Lou is not potrayd as 6'8''in pumping Iron,it say's he is a 6'5''275lbs sheet metal worker, and like most he has just been rowndid up from 6,4,5''he is now around the 6'3''mark, Big King says on 23/May/09
Yes, Lou is really nothing more than 6'4". sid says on 23/May/09
Big King In pumping iron they portray lou as 6'8 when he was only 6'4 maybe 6'4'5. I saw lou ferigno here in Vancouver shooting the hulk little over 20 years ago..its where Dare devil appeared. made for tv.. he didnt look more then 6'4 when I saw him up close..he could look 6'3 6'4 thats how much he looked to me. nothing more then that. Well, Lou has really no more than 3 inches on Schwarzenegger. We know that Arnold was a weak 6'2" in his prime and that would make Lou a weak 6'5" guy.
That`s how it is. Danimal says on 20/May/09
Brad says on 20/May/09
Friend of mine met him in Omaha a couple weeks ago, he's 6' 3" which is about what I saw in North Hollywood. He lied about his age to the press there so I'd push aside his height figure he claims.
He was slightly over 6'4" in his younger days though, just like you were once 6'6". Brad says on 20/May/09

mark, come on, his claimed 6'4.5" height is a joke because he didn't even look that tall in some of his King of Queens episodes. Lou is nothing more than 6'3.5" nowadays. He might push 6'5" in his prime but that's all. mark says on 14/May/09
The Rob photo: Once again. Lou is leaning toward Rob, body & head. Straighten Lou out & up, and Rob's height's even w/Lou's mouth. Without a full-body shot, it's impossible to judge foot-spacing, but in the other shot, Lou's feet are somewhat widely-spaced, as would be more likely when leaning like this. Rob's standing straight up, facing front, & doing whatever he has to do to be in the same frame with Lou, thus Rob would quite likely have his feet more closely-spaced than Lou. Keeping Lou's 'tall' head in mind, ther is no evidence here to make him anything less than his claimed 6'4.5". mark says on 13/May/09
Lou is leaning, hunching, turning toward and standing further back than Mamun, ala whuch make him appear shorter than he actually is. Even so, the top of Lou's upper lip is even with the top of Mamun's head. If Lou 1/Closed his mouth , (thus bringing his chin up), 2/Stood equal distance from the camera and 3/ Faced the camera as square & straight as Mamun is , some part of his chin would be even with the top of Mamun's head. Add to this that Lou has a very "tall" head, and I come up with at -least- 6'4.5". (Actually, I come up iwth more, which makes me wonder if Mamun is actually less than 5'8".) Big King says on 10/May/09
So if Lou is already 58 then he would be a weak 6'4" nowadays. I really don't understand this because beside Rob Lou looks no more than 6'2" and 6'3" beside Mamun. Anonymous says on 8/May/09

Ferrigno is massive and at the top end of above average height and that starts at 6'3". But Lou still looks a strong 6'3" guy. His 6'5" measurement was when he was wearing shoes so that would take him at 6'4" barefoot height. rony192cm says on 13/Apr/09

Here's Lou guest starring in an episode of Night Court. I remember seing this episode somewhere in the early 90's, remembering that Lou wasn't nearly as tall as I thought he was (I used to think he was like 6'7). Lou is in his prime here, yet he's struggling with 6'4 here.
John Larroquette (who's listed as 6'4) looks slightly taller than him, but probably has a small footwear advantage.

Thing is, the producer of Night Court says in the season 1 commentaries that John Laroquette is somewhere between 6'4" and 6'6", which would put him at 6'5" legit, seeing Harry Anderson was ALSO listed at 6'4", but was obviously shorter than John on the show. Vegas says on 9/Mar/09

Just a thought, I wish this site would use a guy who is exactly 6'0 even as the measuring sick for people. That would make it easier to judge the heights of some of these big bodybuilder/wrestler types. These guys are so big body wise that they dwarf a 5'8 guy and look to be taller than they really probably are. At 6'0 you are able to hang much better with the 6'3-6'4-6'5 guys and you can get a better feel. If you stuck a regular guy that was 4 inches taller than Manum in that picture I bet Ferrigno would just be a tad taller. At 5'8 everybody is going to look way tall.
Been discussed, but you must realize that Rob would probably love that (even though he didn't respond to you comment), BUT, SOMEONE has to be up for the position. Someone who actually MEETS the stars and provides the pics to Rob on a regular basis the way Glenn does AND that guy would have to be 6'0" on top of it. People like that don't grow off trees and I'm sure would want money for their services. Danimal says on 27/Jan/09

His arms were down to 21" for the filming of Hercules in 1982. He reduced his bodyweight from 271 pounds to 262 pounds for the role, but apparently he was in Mr. Olympia like conditioning. he competed in the first WSM 1977,he won three of the events, including the car lift, and if you get the chance to see it you will see he was taller then the 6'3''winner Bruce Wellhem, and about the same height as 6'5''shot puter Brian Oldfield,Lou was 6'4.5''and he was much bigger in the chest and back than Hogan,he was one of the first guys to have his chest measured at 60''and his arms at over 23''pump he was a bulked 300lbs at the time, but still less body fat than Hogan,
WOW, where do you pull these stats from??? He was not a BULKED UP 300 pounds in 1977. In fact, he weighed between 270-280 pounds back then and his measured chest measurement was 58". Big King says on 15/Dec/08
Yes, Hugh. Hugh says on 15/Dec/08
I think he could be close to 6ft4. 6ft4.75 peak and 6ft3.5 these days. Big King says on 14/Dec/08
SuperAnonymous, if Lou were 6'5" in the morning then his 6'5" listings were true but he already claimed his height as 6'4.5" and we don't know on what time he measured that height. SuperAnonymous says on 13/Dec/08
6'4.5" for Ferrigno peak (6'5" early morning out of bed height). He was as tall as 6'5" Brian Oldfield in the World Strongest Man contest in 1977. He was about 3 inches taller than 6'1.5" Arnold Schwarzenegger (6'1.75" morning out of bed height) in 1975 Pumping Iron.
I do admire how good Lou looks at such an old age. While most bodybuilders become unrecognizable (like once awarded "the most perfectly developed human being on earth" Arnold Schwarzenegger who has heaps of fat everywhere on his body and a weird body proportions), Ferrigno kept himself in incredibly good shape (much like, Serge Nubret who is 73 and looks better than many bodybuilders do in their 20s). Hugh, you are damn right about Lou's peak and current height. That guy has lost at least one inch.
Ola, I guess Ferrigno would win against Hogan. Although Hogan was a great wrestler, Ferrigno was a star in bodybuilding. Hugh says on 16/Nov/08
I'd say 195cm peak and 192cm now. Big King says on 9/Nov/08
We know, anonymous but it is true that Ferrigno had three inches on Arnold Schwarzenegger. I saw their height difference on a video. But 6'5" is definitely a joke for this guy. Danimal says on 5/Nov/08
Ola says on 4/Nov/08
only 250? ok... he was up to 320 in his peak i believe
summer 1993 he was almost 340 pounds. Went down to 318-320 pounds for the 1993 Mr. Olympia in the fall and was back up to 325-330 pounds days later. The lightest this man has ever weighed at his height was 220 pounds in the mid-late 80's. He averages 250-285 pounds though. Today he is looking 250 pounds to me. He could be as high as 260 pounds but I don't think so, considering he appears to clearly have lost height. Big King says on 5/Nov/08
Also on this video Click Here Lou takes a man down who is slightly taller than him. And his height was 6'5"??? LOL!!!
I mean, if Schwarzenegger wasn't a full 6'2" then Lou was nothing above 6'4". Nowadays he's also under 6'4". Big King says on 4/Nov/08

ferrigno 6'4 1/4-1/2 peak, 6'3 1/4-1/2 today... thats one inch. fully normal for a big guy in his age. he was listed as 6'5 in all bodybuilding videos so he had to be around 6'4 1/2 peak and just rounded up.
Danimal, what would you say lou's weight is today?
250 pounds. Danimal says on 4/Nov/08
Big King says on 29/Oct/08
Haha, Rob you're right with your 6'3" estimation. Nowadays he's that tall. Here is the interview Click Here
MY GOD, take lessons in English PLEASE. Carla ferrigno is giving the stats of their SON, whose name is also Louie. She is saying that their son is 6'3" and 245 pounds when Tepper asks her to give their SONS stats. LEARN English. This is SO basic. DO NOT try and mislead people in believing that she was talking about her husbands height and weight. She was talking about their sons. Lou MAY be that height today, but again, this video talks about their SONS height and weight, NOT HIS. asdfs says on 3/Nov/08
he looks more like 6'1'' now and 6'3'' in peak, who really knows? dave says on 3/Nov/08
So, Hogan vs Ferrigno in arm wrestling? Big King says on 29/Oct/08
Haha, Rob you're right with your 6'3" estimation. Nowadays he's that tall. Here is the interview Click Here Big King says on 27/Oct/08
We don't know James but it is clear that Ferrigno doesn't look 6'5" nowadays. A human can't lose two inches because of weightlifting. The only result is that his 6'5" height announcement was obviously a fake. If Lou said 6'4 1/2" in his prime then he was no taller than that. Maybe there was a possibility that Ferrigno was 195cm (maybe straight out of bed). Anonymous3 says on 25/Oct/08
yep I agree with Danimal, rounding up or down is the norm for height estimates. Big King says on 25/Oct/08
Danimal, don't be such an animal. It is clear that Lou was 195cm in his prime. This can be confused with 6'4 1/2" or 6'5". Danimal says on 24/Oct/08
Big King says on 23/Oct/08
And if Lou was 6'4 1/2" in his prime then I don't know why the hell he was listed at 6'5". But being 6'4 1/2" in his prime gives us truly an advice that Lou is almost 6'4" today. So 6'3 1/2" is in the deal.
PLEASE stop trying to use ENGLISH expressions!! You are not doing them any justice....haha. WHY THE HELL was he listed at 6'5" if he was only 6'4.5"?? Do you REALLY have to ask that question kid? It's called rounding up, which is 101 in height estimates. People also round down as well just in case you get confused again one day ;). Big King says on 24/Oct/08
In the German TV series of King of Queens it is mentioned that Victor Williams is 2 meters tall. Big King says on 23/Oct/08

Yes, there is at least an inch height difference between Victor and Lou in King of Queens. If Lou was 6'4 1/2" on this time, then nothing prevents Victor on being 6'6" tall. Victor's height is definitely downgraded for an inch. Danimal says on 22/Oct/08
Big King says on 19/Oct/08
Lou claimed his height as 6'4 1/2" and I dodn't know if he said it in his prime or nowadays. Rob, do you probably know when exactly Lou stated his height as 6'4 1/2"?
His PRIME.
His last measured height was for the Masters Olympia in 1994, where he measured slightly over 6'4". Question is, how much height has he lost in the last 14 years. Yaspaa says on 22/Oct/08
Big King,I was quite shocked when I saw the difference in height between Lou and Victor on 'The King Of Queens'. At the time I was sure that Lou was 6'5 but thought there was 1.5 maybe even 2 inches between them. Victor looks like a 6'6 dude,he's mentioned as 6'5 on the show but looks taller, anyway very strong 6'3 for lou today (23:00 GMT). Mamun says on 21/Oct/08

In King of Queens Lou looked at least an inch shorter than Victor Williams who played Deacon Palmer. Lou claimed being 6'4 1/2" tall and if he's that height today then Williams has to be around 6'6". Lenad says on 17/Oct/08
Whatever the hell is his height he sure does make the 5'8 guys look like shrimps Anonymous3 says on 16/Oct/08

I'm sure that Lou isn't 6'4 1/2" today but if he admitted his height as 6'4 1/2" then he was that tall. And yes, Lou could be around 6'4" nowadays. He has lost about a half inch. That sounds more realistic. Thanks to supes78, we came to a result. supes78 says on 12/Oct/08
Here is part of a 1999 interview he did where he is asked specifically about his height;
Dave: A lot of the fans want to know how much you weigh today and if you are actually 6’5".
Lou: He said he’s in the best shape of his life at 285 pounds (note: he was 275 during the series, except in the reunion movies).
Dave: I re-asked the question about how tall he is. I told him some people say you are 6’5", some say you are 6’4.5", which one is it.
Lou: He said that he’s about 6’4.5".

I think Lou was referencing his peak height, as opposed to his current height of around 6'3". Hugh says on 12/Oct/08
I think Lou Ferrigno was a legit 6ft5 at his peak and is now 6ft4. Big King says on 2/Oct/08
Well, 6'2" and 6' are ridiculous downgraded estimations but you are right that especially Lou's height has been overestimated. Lou has never been 6'5", more likely 6'3 1/2" or 6'4". Maybe he has shrunk from 6'4" to 6'3" yet. Different height results and sources just tell that Lou was possibly 195cm (a shade under 6'5") in his prime. Lou also looked just an inch taller than Eric Bana, who is 6'2 1/4" on CelebHeights. So Lou is just slightly over 6'3" nowadays. 6'3 1/2" or 6'3 3/4" sounds good for Lou's current height. deano says on 26/Sep/08
i think hes always been 6 ft 2 and arnold schwarzenegger 6 ft i dont think arnolds ever been 6ft 2 or een 6 ft 1 its all a lie in famous heights. Big King says on 23/Sep/08
A human can loose an inch when he becomes over 50 years old. So I guess Lou has shrunk from 195cm to 192cm. Big King says on 21/Sep/08
I'm sure for 100% that Lous was 195cm in his prime. Nothing above and nothing under. Hugh says on 20/Sep/08
I agree with Big King. Does look close to 6ft4 today. 192cm is a good listing. Almost 6ft5 at his peak. Big King says on 20/Sep/08
Lou was possibly 195cm (6'4 3/4") in his prime so I'm sure that his 195cm height got confused with 6'4 1/2" and 6'5". Ferrigno was 195cm and has shrunk to 192cm now. That makes him look almost 6'4" nowadays. So 6'3 1/2" is where I put the money on. Big King says on 18/Sep/08
Then he stated 6'4" and not 6'4 1/2". If he said and, maybe he tried to continue to say a sentence.
Ferrigno's height is as 195cm on metric system. Big King says on 18/Sep/08
Rob, is there also a source where Lou said that he was 6'4 1/2" tall?
[Editor Rob: he said 'around 6ft 4 [and] 245 pounds now' to me.] Big King says on 18/Sep/08
Also this website Click Here tells the truth about Lou Ferrigno's height. Big King says on 13/Sep/08
I think I found the result. Lou was at least 6'4" in his prime. The 6'5" listings are a joke. And now he lost almost an inch. Lou is around 191-192cm (6'3 1/2") now. Big King says on 11/Sep/08
Lou looks more 191-192cm. He's something between 6'3" and 6'4". Big King says on 5/Sep/08
Yes, we know that Lou is almost 6'4" but I doubt if his height was ever 6'5" otherwise it would be ridiculous if a human loosed almost two inches because of his age. Also his 6'4 1/2" peak height is a bit strange but it could be right. And yes, beside Mamun, Lou looks 6'3", beside Rob, Lou looks almost 6'2" but anything under 6'3" for Lou is ridiculous. Alex says on 4/Sep/08
With Mamun he looks 6'3. jon says on 4/Sep/08
Look at the size of his head-Lou looks 6'3". I stood next to him a few times at the Mr. Olympia Expo last year and kept bumping into him around the hotel. He is at least 6'3 " and if he could manage to stand up straight and sort his posture out then he would be closer to 6'4". Also stood next to Jay Cutler-same height as my mate-5'8" tops but looks so much shorter and Ronnie Coleman 5'10" tops. Big King says on 4/Sep/08
Lou looks 6'2" on this photo but in fact, he looks more than an inch taller than Eric Bana who is almost 6'3". Lou's height is hard to verify. Ian says on 3/Sep/08
He used to be 6ft5 back in the days when he competed with Arnie who was listed as 6ft2 at the time. Paul says on 15/Aug/08
Lou Ferrigno is 6'4" maximus says on 6/Aug/08
Probably around 6'3".....posture is important. It can be surprising when someone actually stands up straight who normally slouches a lot and you realize they are at least an inch or more taller than what they acually appear. Arnie was never 6'2 and Lou was NEVER over 6'4. Brian says on 13/Jul/08
I met him today in San Francisco. I'm a solid 6'3" and he had me by nearly two inches. I'd say that 6'4.5" is indeed accurate. His head and hands are enormous by the way, and his arms are disproportionally long. Yaspaa says on 28/Jun/08

Notable is that Ferrigno looked only one and a half inch shorter than Victor Williams who played Deacon Palmer in King of Queens. Williams is about 6'5" to 6'6" and believing that Ferrigno is under 6'3" is bull****! Ferrigno is almost 6'4" nowadays, just like Hogan. elio says on 10/Jun/08

His height was stated as 6ft 5in in 'Pumping Iron' several times. I think it could have been his morning height. The sound of 'six, five' resounds in a way, 'six, four and a half' never could, particularly when you enunciate the 'five'. So I'm sure the temptation was there. RAZOR says on 26/May/08

Lou was listed at 6'5 275 in his Canadian Football League days, I forget which team, I think it was the Argonauts. He is about the same height as Hogan in those recent pictures, definatly not any shorter and maybe a fraction taller. I think Lou was a small 6'5 peak, about 6'4.75 and is about 6'3.75 now. Hogan was a small 6'6 peak, about 6'5.5 and is about 6'3.75 now. joeman says on 11/May/08
Hes a big guy for sure I would say 6,3 or over and closer to 6'4 in his hulk days , when he was on the king of queens he made Kevin James who I think is barley 5'8, look like a fat 12 year old kid. 6'3 and a half sounds good ,Lou is a great example of modernman interbreeding with neanderthals theory.
