@berta i think with the same footwear as when he met rob, he can be peak Arnold's heigth twin, look 6'1.5 here, but barefeet, i think arnold would edge him on the stadiometer, but in person, it would still difficult to tell the difference

Standing alone gives a tall impression of around 6ft2 proportion wise,but really when stood next to people of known height never really looks much more than 6ft1. Wouldn't completely rule out 1.25 but would definitely rule out 1.5.

The way I see it for 6'1" is that they have an average eye level of 174cm, so it may vary a cm more or less depending on headsize. I didn't take his footwear into account in my previous comment, my bad.

I'm quite confident Gatiss would measure about 6'1-6'1 1/8 in the afternoon. Let's say about 6'1 1/8 (185.7 cm) at lunchtime. He seems a solid 6'1 based on this photo. Average guess is a little too high. This is a decent photo to assess height as both him an Rob are standing decent.

Editor RobRelative to the camera it's tilted up more than mine. He has kept his head straight ahead and not tilted it down, I have a slight lower of mine, but from the camera's height which is closer to 5ft, his is more tilted up.
For someone like Gwendoline, she has tilted her eyes down at least half inch while I am looking straight ahead...
You can see the 186 and 187 guys heads Beside Mine to see they can look smaller like Gatiss can. At 5ft 8 my head is longer than average.

Editor Rob in person mark is taller...at least looked taller up close, but then takeaway a decent fraction and they are not that far apart....but I would still say if you measured both of them there has to be at least 1/4 maybe 1/3rd between them.

FINALLY, this is what a true 6'1" guy looks like. I know that because two of my best friends were legit 6'1" not too long ago, now they are closer to 6'2", like 6'1.75". My eyelevel is a little bit under their mouth.

Editor Rob his head isn't much over 9 inches in this photo, so naturally 7 inches would be closer to a mouth. I'd say he tilted slightly upwards reducing his head size a fraction.

I do think we overstate this guys height a little, many seem to think he's 186cm but what you have to remember is he looks 6ft1 flat with Rob as the lines demonstrate and that's standing with measurement posture AND 0.3 inch more footwear. So I don't think over 6ft1 is that persuasive.

He's one of the very few honest 6ft1 guys. He looks every bit the height he claims and then some. He could probably get away with claiming 6ft2 but he doesn't. The others I can think of are Josh Holloway and Tim Henman.

Editor Rob I'd say he was more similar to height challenger 2 up close than challenger 8, but as I say with a fraction more footwear I'd put him at 6ft 1 range.

Editor Rob I'd say he is as he says, an honest 6ft 1, he looked similar to challenger 2, but as I say he has more shoe than me, so I buy him as nearer 6ft 1 flat than above. Although you can't rule small fractions out :)
