i saw the movie 'Deceit' yesterday..she looked very short compared to other stars. Usually my estimate is never wrong..but she never looked 5-4 in that movie..but the pic above with Gleen proves me wrong.. Frank2 says on 8/Sep/08

It was mostly hair and make-up. She'd stay in her dressing room for well past shooting calls. My aunt saw Streisand in similar "action" at Fox in '68. She'd blow her top over anything. Frank2 says on 5/Sep/08
Right before he died, actor/director Ted Bessell told me he'd give me the lowdown on all her antics he and others suffered through working with Marlo on THAT GIRL. Unfortunately, I never got to hear them. I could tell from the pained expression on his face when I mentioned her name that Ted found her to be as repulsive as I did. Brad says on 5/Sep/08
On "Friends" they lit her up so it burnt out her face lines. She wore makeup that made the lighting work well. I think her hair was brown. I'm sure she looked at that Warner Bros. stage with 3 producers & 8 associate producers, 9 assistants, do nothing grips & gaffers on a fixed set and went "on "That Girl" there was one producer: me". On this pile of crap TV movie I worked on, Marlo fired the great Conrad Hall, probably one of the best cinematographers in the biz. The reason? She claimed he lit her in a way that made her look older than she was. So she replaced him with a competent TV DP and gave him strict orders: "Make me look 25!" She was over 40 at the time. One day I should write a book on the exploits. If I live longer than the hag, I will. Brad says on 19/Aug/08
Of course Frank2. The Glenn photo with her is a stone farce. Correct on "terror". That doo took 4-ever and it had to shine correctly with the lighting due to her hair color. Glenn probably was in his 2.5" Portman boots. Adds correctly: 5' 6" or 5' 6.5" tops with Marlo in the 1/2" heel add. Frank2 says on 18/Aug/08
Well, now I know Glenn was lying about his height. I worked with Marlo for six months on a dreadful TV movie she co-produced and starred in. She's a tiny woman and a terror. Probably no more than 5'3". Even in heels she was about six inches shorter than me and I'm 5'11". Glenn is definitely no more than 5'6". Now, if in that photo Marlo is wearing flats......well, you figure it out. Brad says on 17/Aug/08

Screamed at the children in St. Jude??...that seems unbelievable BUT with Allan Alda as one of their spokespersons(who I have waited on at my job and is nothing less than obnoxious) I may believe it. sorry to hear this. Nobody had a better TV doo than Marlo, maybe Farrah. She looks awesome for her age. I think she regrets not putting "Marlo Thomas Productions" on her "That Girl" series....she did everything on that thing, and even make the coffee in the casting sessions. Her father was one of the nicest people I've ever met. |
