I'm five foot nine or 1.75 metres. Used to be five nine and a half but it seems I'm shrinking in height as well as stomach. My ideal weight, medically speaking, is probably around 11 stone seven pounds. But my face would be looking very haggard by then.

I see Michael Winner is ‘sitting next to’ David Cronenberg on the Directors’ Page! Michael’s ‘The Sentinel’ is one of the scariest films ever made. I read about it as a teenager, and it chilled me to the very core of my being. Seeing it bore out that the writings up were as true as the film is terrifying.

Michael introduced his masterpiece on the DVD, and he was justifiably proud. Nobody has equalled his approach to this topic since.

5ft9.25. 🎬🥇

@Rob: I agree. My 5'9" estimate for Bronson is also the most I'd guess him at. I just don't think he lost much, if any height until his 70s, which is remarkable itself.

@Rob: Thanks, I've watched many of Winner's films, but haven't really seen much to guess his height outside of that full photo on the Death Wish 3 set in which Bronson looked clearly taller to me, but it's probable Bronson wore height-increasing footwear for a film like that, especially since I don't think Bronson was above the 5'9" Winner gave him, yet he pulled off looking above that even off screen at 65-70.

5ft 9 isn't entirely out of the question for Brosnan, although it is the most I think I'd ever have guessed.

@Rob: I'm guessing you've seen the photo of Winner and Bronson on the set of Death Wish 3 - which others who haven't can see in my post on 10/Aug/17 - and since Winner gave both his and Bronson's height as 5'9", I was wondering which of these options you think was more likely? Winner and Bronson both 5'8.5"? Or Winner and Bronson both 5'9"?

Of course, I choose the latter, but Winner's 5'9.5" claim does leave me open to the possibility that was his shoe height in which case he'd have been 5'8.5".

from the photos on google images I've seen, it is tricky to spot much between them, you could argue they were within a fraction...

I saw his film 'The Sentinel', which utterly blew me away, as much as I was expecting to - and more!

I thought, "I must check out how tall this fantastic director was!" as the film earnt much of its credit on the atmosphere created by its directorship.

I see Michael was, at 5ft9, distintly average, which (cliche I know!) is infinitely more than can be said for his ability as a film director.

With a name like 'Winner', he had a lot to live up to. He did!

Charles Bronson was my absolute favorite actor during the 1970's and I always thought he was taller than five feet nine inches.

Winner's height depends on how tall Bronson was. I'm inclined to believe Winner that he and Bronson were both 5'9", but if Bronson were only 5'8.5" then I'd give Winner no taller: Click Here Not only did Winner seem to believe they were the same height, but seeing a 63 year old Bronson side by side with a 49 year old Winner, it's difficult to see him even a mm taller. Of course, the people who believe Bronson was only 5'7" got some 'splainin' to do!

Death Wish 1 and 2 were pretty good, then it started declining a little bit. Watched the first 5 minutes of Death Wish 5; didn't even to watch further.

Rob, you think Michael could've been 5'7ish in his later years? Looked it with John Cleese.
Editor Rob
he did lose height, probably 1.5 inches by his last years, but he never looked a guy who would retain great posture, but from old photos of him in the 70's I could believe he was near 5ft 9 then.
