he's 7 feet even, this site is dead on sometimes but this dude is a 7 footer, the only place he is listed 6,11 is here and it's wrong!
He's 7 foot, some places have him up to 7,2. But he is 213 cm, 7 feet! Atoadaso says on 1/Mar/08
Billed heights are accurate in boxing, in most cases. The only discrepancy that you'll find is height barefoot, or in shoes. A giant like Valuev may be overbilled slightly because part of his promotional appeal is saying that he is 7'0", which sounds more impressive than 6'10", or 6'11". UFC, and WWE, of course, overbil their fighters. Take Tim Sylvia, for example, billed at 6'8" while in reality is 6'6". If you think Wladimir Klitschko is only 6'4.5", and Lewis is around 6'3" then you'd be very wrong, as their billed heights are accurate which is the standard for all professional boxers.

A good rule of thumb for finding a boxer's true height is to subtract two inches from their billed height. So yes, that would make Valuev roughly between 6'10" and 6'11". I only know such things because I'm an amateur myself, and they billed me as 6'0" when I'm really only 5'9.75, 5'10.5 in the morning. Atoadaso says on 26/Jan/08
Valeuv's height isn't too hard to determine, just because he is a HW and so will be matched up with other big men. From photo's with him against 6'5" Bergeron, 6'6" McCline (may be shorter in reality though), and a ton of other 6'3" range boxers, I would put him at 6'11". His head is enormous... he may be an acromegalic giant, i'm not sure. He had about 6" on Bergeron and McCline as well. I would love to see how Vitali Klitschko matches up with Valuev. I believe Valuev would have 3" on him, maybe 2.5", and Vitali wouldn't dwarf an opponent for once. Some German says on 14/Jan/08
Met him today in Berlin, Germany, when he was shopping with his girlfriend.
Surprisingly he is a very kind guy. The staredowns I have seen made me expect some tough badass, that treats his fans just like bull****.
Instead he answered every of my questions willingly and uncomplaining, while carrying his girlfriend's purchases into a nearby cab - smiling all the time, even when lifting up about 80 lbs of buyings.
Anyways I do not buy the 6'11".
I have a lot of tall friends, who are as tall as 6'6" and he did not appear that much taller, a little bit taller, though never ever 5 inches.
From what I was able to guess - being 6' tall and looking up to him a lot - he is more like 205 cm in person, not anywhere near the 7'1" he gets billed at sometimes, not as tall as he appears on screen either. shiko says on 2/Aug/07
211cm in the evening would be correctbu i think straight out ofbed he would be on the 7 foot mark, though i dont think the show is taller but could look like it because of his immens body Cobra says on 5/Jul/07
Have heard Big Show wants to start boxing, I would like to see him against Valuev, I think Show would have half or a full inch against him kirk says on 24/Jun/07
really now dayz when u are 6'10, u are considered a "FOOTER". Produce says on 14/Jun/07
Nikolai Valuev was meassured as 211 CM by german TV in the evening! The difference between morning and evening and evening is about 2 CM. So Valuev is 211-213 CM , so you can say his height is 212 CM! He never looked 217 CM to me. LongKenny says on 11/Mar/07
I thing he never show his real height. He always has his head down. And his head is gigantic, I think at least 25cm long. My guess is 2.11m-2.13m Karemaker says on 7/Mar/07
I would say 6'11" is about right for Valuev. In the press conference pictures between him and Jameel McCline, who is a legit 6'6", he seemed about 5 inches taller. McCline came up to about Valuev's eye level, or maybe slightly lower. used to think his height was exaggerated a lot, and I thought he was about 6'9", but with shoes on Valuev must be just around that 7ft mark. Oh well when Klitschko fights him it won't really matter anymore, heheh. weekly says on 23/Jan/07

Scroll a little. Valuev with Dmitry Tursunov, who is at ATP listed at 6 ft 1. I'm really confused, can't say how tall Valuev looks there. CoolJ says on 19/Jan/07
He's about 6'11-6'11.25 As I stated earlier, he was measured at 2.11m on TV Lucky Luciano says on 7/Dec/06
6'10.5". 7'0.5" in his regular street shoes (reinforced for his mass). I drove out to Chicago for the Valuev-Barrett fight and watched public workouts and weigh-in from 20 ft away. Big dude. aussie bloke says on 7/Dec/06
Picture with 6ft1 tennis player Dimitry Tursonov showed that he is freakin tall, but not 11 inches taller, more like 8-9 inches taller. I reckon, barefoot, he would be about 6ft9 tall, possibly 6ft10 at the most. Jim says on 14/Jul/06
Valuev is 6-11 w/o shoes. If you add 1 or 1-1/2 inches for shoes, this makes him a solid Seven footer. UTASHI_PRIDE says on 21/Jun/06
His parents fed him lots of milk mask says on 1/Feb/06
My guess is 208 cm barefoot 211 cm with shoes billed 7'0" cuase it sounds more intimidating. Mikex says on 1/Jan/06
This guy is tall cause of a glandular/thyroid problem or something. His size isn't natural and he looks a bit odd. CoolJ says on 21/Dec/05
I spoke to a boxing fan in the Netherlands who states that Valuev was measured at 2.11m on television.

He doesn't look as tall as 7'0" when he stared down on 6'3" Larry Donald. Jason says on 18/Dec/05
Damn. If you read his bio he says his father is 5'6'' and his mother even shorter. He says he got his height from his grandfather who stood 6'7''. Jason says on 18/Dec/05
I mean that he doesn't quite look 7'0'' in those pics so the other listings I think are more probable. CoolJ says on 18/Dec/05
Jason: How exactly can you differentiate between those one or two centimeters? Is there anyone pictured with official heights somewhere? Jason says on 18/Dec/05
http://www.box-way.ru/en/valuev/photo.html
Looking through all the pics at his official site, he does look more the 210 or 211cm. Jason says on 18/Dec/05
I've read he's actually 210cm (6'10 1/2''). He used to be a basketball player in Russia ... maybe there's a listing from those days somewhere. CoolJ says on 17/Dec/05
I tell you what.. I heard he was officially 6'11 1/2".. but.. he TOWERS over "6'2" John Ruiz...
[Editor Rob: it is quite possible he's a tad under...but getting billed as the 7ft 'King Kong' of boxing vs the '6ft 11 and a halfer' works better in the press! Here's the pic of him and the 188cm guy.
I've seen various listings and descriptions of this guy from 6ft 11 to 7ft 2.
