Danish actor best known for his role as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones. In film he can be seen in Kingdom of Heaven, HeadHunters and Nightwatch. In a MensFitness article his height/weight were given as 6ft 2 and 194 lbs although at his own European talent agency he is listed as 187cm tall and he himself said "Six One and a half" and also "just under six foot two."

I get what your saying; that photo is certainly not the most flattering or at least doesn't depict his height that accurately. It's due to the angle, and as you point out, he has a big head and a big face (wide jaw, wide mid-face, wide everything, practically). I'm quite certain he clears 6'1½ - he could be slightly taller, in fact.

Shot Caller was the first time Nikolaj truly looked 6'1 to me. In all of his other roles and modelling gigs, he keeps getting paired with really tall women and 6'4 - 6'5 guys.

I see your point. That would mean he's about one 'standard deviation' above the mean, which is a sensible operational definiton of 'tallness'. Anecdotally, though, 183-184cm guys (i.e. strong six-footers) are also occasionally described as tall in Denmark.

You can see clear as day that he is bending his knee and his back is relaxed and he still looks roughly the same as Butler, if you look at the top of their heads.

He was just stuck with Gwendoline Christie for so long/an entire season and a bit, and even had a lot of scenes around the Hound's actor that my perception of him got absolutely messed up. Even with his poor posture.

I mean, on his own he doesn't strike me as a 6'1-6'2 guy and I myself thought he could look barely 6'1 when I took a look at him a few years ago, but when you see him on GoT with people you have met (like Pilou, Finn Jones, Ian McElhinney), I think he looks over 6'1 flat and right around his 6'1.5 claim! I'm from Denmark, and a guy his height is certainly considered tall. He's got +2 inches on the average man, so he's a bit like a six-footer in the US (or possibly a strong six-footer).

This was always my guess even though he was listed as 6'2.5 on sites for years.
187 cm is a pretty common height in Denmark it seems. I run into people quite often who seem to be on my eye level, or higher. I'd say this is what would be considered normal/tallish height for males.

Even 6'1 seems too high actually. Just see him with Kit Harington, he's listed at 5'7.5 and can look just 4 inches shorter max in some pics. I think there are 5 inches at best between them. If this guy is 6'1.5, Kit must be at least 5'8.5. You think it's possible?

I know one organiser has been trying to get him to an event but so far no success...he went and got the 6ft 3 girl (who can make him look 6ft 1) and by time I tried to get a photo with her they sold out tickets...

Editor Rob i would have got a photo with gwendoline but unfortunately it sold out. I saw her in any case and in a 2-inch type heel she certainly looked like a 6ft 4 person would, so minus an inch of extra heel her 6ft 3 claims seems pretty reasonable.
