Looked 2-3in taller than a lift-enhanced Sly (minimum 5ft9 barefoot in 1982). Definitely appeared a solid 6ft1 w/h McQueen in Sand Pebbles...

Looks about this. Remained in good shape with good posture through the 3 Rambo films, and I loved him in that role, but he did seem to start to age quickly after that, but seems he held his height well into his 70s based on Mr. R's encounter. I'm unsure if he lost height between Rambo 2 and 3 or if it's just that Sly got bigger lifts. I buy 6'1" anyway. He measured up well to Brian Dennehy.

In first blood (Rambo trilogy) he looked classic man 183 cm no more. He was in this movies almost sixty years.
Maybe 185 cm in peak when he was young.

Editor Rob Rampage, I'd need to look at a few more movies before getting a better idea. His described height, typically 6ft 1, seems believable at this moment.

Rob this guy looks an honest 6'1" in McQueen, an easy three inches on him. I think you're spot on as I think McQueen might have been more 177. They look oddly similar facially, but in frame from a distance on screen he reminds me a lot of Reagan. Can you add a photo and update films and remove the questions haha.

The height of a man is unimportant. It is his emotions and actions which count. Although I never had the honour of meeting this lovely man, I think he was a terrific actor and his true quality as a gentleman shone through. Richard Crenna was born the same month and year as my dad. I adored watching Richard Crenna.

We lost a fine actor with the passing of Richard "Dick" Crenna a few years back. From his early work as the "squeaky voiced teenager" in the early 1950's "Our Miss Brooks", through the late 1950's to early 1960's "Real McCoys", and on to his great TV and movie roles in later decades, he was a true talent. He never lost his 6'1" height as he aged.

I actually met Richard Crenna on the CBS lot in Hollywood, and asked him for directions. I didn't realize until I walked away that he was the man in the phone booth. He was close to 6-1. Very nice man.

Crenna was closer to six feet even. I saw him several times over the years. He never looked more than an inch taller than me. In the old TV series The Real McCoys he was about an inch taller than 5'11" Walter Brennan.
