Australian Painter, Musician and Television personality, remembered for shows like Animal Hospital and Cartoon Time. He once said in The Mirror: "I'm 5ft 10ins. Actually, you can make me 5ft 10 and a half, if you like. Ha ha" and also in a BBC article in 2012 said "I used to be 5ft 10 and a half, probably about 5ft 9 and a half inches [now]."

Yeah, it's difficult to say "RIP", more like "RIH" ("rot in hell"), but he still had family and people who loved him which we should respect. Shows that often people who seem the nicest in showbiz can often be the opposite in some ways. He probably was a decent guy at heart in some ways, but just had that perverted trait. Sad end to his life really as he'll always be known as a paedo now, which overshadows the good stuff he did. He was certainly a great artist, his portrait of the Queen is fantastic. 5 ft 10.5 seems about right! Yes, quite a well built guy, probably 15 or 16 stone I'd imagine.

I came face to face with Rolf Harris at the Windsor Royal Farm Shop around the end of 2012, soon before he was arrested. I'd been told some years earlier by a casting agent I'd got to know that a few years earlier she saw him gleefully showing other showbiz people pictures of naked girls. He was quietly sifting through some apples as a pair of elderly ladies opposite me were whispering to each other "Look, it's Rolf Harris!" I looked up as he walked towards me and I looked into his eyes and he returned a stony look at me. I was surprised at how heavily built he was.
Anyway, I'm 5'9" and he was a touch taller then me, but he'd developed a slight stoop.

My sister really liked Rolf too Sandy, and said for a long time he had to be innocent. In some ways it's like a kid finding out Santa isn't what you thought he was! I could believe 5'10 and change, I can't remember Timmy Mallett being that short when I used to watch Wackaday as a kid, but he was rarely standing by anybody for reference.

I remember one user specifically saying he looked 5' 11-6" in person when they saw him in Wales.

I walked right past Rolf Harris a few years ago (a little before the scandal broke) in the Windsor Farm Shop. I'm 5' 9" and he was about a half inch taller than me, but exhibiting a slight slouch that can come through age.

I've seen both of them in person. Saville I saw sitting by himself in a pub in Richmond in 1997...obviously couldn't gauge his height. Harris I saw walking his dogs near where he lived in Berkshire about a couple of years later. He seemed 5ft10 range and he would have been about 70. I actually thought he'd be shorter! Between both of them Harris seemed less suspect I must say. I've watched clips of both of them and I feel he was maybe a little more cautious. Savile showed more obvious signs

As for Jimmy Savile's actual height, he claimed to be "about 5ft 10" at one point, although you'd never have thought of him that tall, he always seemed shorter than that.

Editor Rob Jimmy was what I'd call a 'huge' British name, but a global non-entity...I wonder if there was ever a case of a celebrity so well known in their own country (in the UK he would be known by 99.9% of the population aged 30 or over) to have ever been exposed as such a creep?
