He was on an aussie program "ROVE" last night wearing only thongs and he had close to 2" on the host -Rove McManus who was in converse style shoes who is supposed to be 5'7" barefoot. 5'9" for Sam would be pretty close for a morning height.

i'm from perth and made the mistake of going to rockingham (where he is from) a couple of years ago, i knew who he was, there was a hype about him, i'd give him 5'9 in the morning and 5'8 in the evening. i'm 5'8 (female) and he said "you're pretty tall"- it was random.. btw his shoes arent huge, he used to be a brickie, they all wear shoes like that, they'd give him 1" max.

Actually the boots he wears in the movie are his own boots, and he pretty much wears them everywhere. They don't have a thick heel nor a lift. His boots are made by a company called Blundstone, and if you go to their site (Blundstone.com) they hardly have any boots with a heel, and the ones that do have a heel may be half an inch.

I saw Terminator Salvation and I never got the feeling that Sam was tall, Christian and Anton were both taller than Sam and it was obvious.

Sam is somewhere between 5'9 to 5'10. There are even videos on Youtube where Sam make cracks at his height.

5'8" for a girl is NOT average. It's at least 3 inches above average. Probably the equivalent of a 6'1" guy. Presumably you're overestimating your own height if you feel average for a girl... in which case Sam Worthington might actually be about 4 inches taller than you despite his 'flaw'.

I have seen Christian Bale in real life, he is definitely about 6'1", the idea that Bale is less than 6 feet is silly. In Terminator Salvation its really hard to tell how tall Worthington really is, in some shots he looks a bit bigger than Anton Yelchin, in other shots he looks smaller. I will guess he is 5'9" tall and not any bigger.

just saw terminator salvation and wow he is hot but that movie totally made him look way taller. i came on here just to check because in some shots of the movie he looked really tall and in others he seemed shorter. he has a great body and the movie did a wonderful job of portraying him as a powerhouse of a man. despite his rather short appearance especially in this pic at the premier. i give him anywhere from 5'7.5-5'9

I doubt it has much to do with Yelchin's height; I think that Worthington is just a shorter guy made to look as big and tall as he possibly can. They did a good job of that in TS. Here, take a look at this photo:

1. They are more or less level pegging. No angle will ever be perfect on this site, but this photo's angle is certainly in the better 50% of photos.

2. Yelchin's head and shoulders are lowered; if he were to stand tall, he'd probably be beating Worthington in that photo. And this is despite...

3. Worthington's boots are munsters. If you don't think he's getting a height boost from them, then look again. Notice how Worthington is *leaning forward* in that photo from a stationary position. That is only possible if you have some leverage at ground level, ie lifts in the boots.

In the film, I got the impression that Marcus Wright was considerably taller and bigger than the young Kyle Reese; I think everybody got that impression. But that photo alone should tell us that, actually, they were using the magic of cinema to make Worthington look more physically imposing than he actually is.

There are no photographs showing Worthington taller than, or even as tall as, Yelchin. We have seen him beaten on many occasions, convincingly so by the 6' Christian Bale. And this is all despite Worthington sporting nothing but grade A munsters in the movie and at premieres. To be honest, I'd be tempted to put him in the 5'7" region, perhaps 5'7.25 - 5'7.75" or something.

it's weird how some pictures Yelchin, Bale, and Sam all look the same height and then some group shots Sam looks like a midget. I guess it's the angle of the camera. In the movie Sam looked like a giant compared to Yelchin. Wonder if he grew in the past 2 yrs. He was probably 17 when he was filming. Can anyone confirm if Yelchin Grew?

I thought Sam was pretty solid in that movie. actually didn't like the end.

The only thing we can be certain of is that Bale is taller than Yelchin, and Yelchin is taller than Worthington (and yes, we can be certain of that -- those premiere pictures are conclusive from all angles). The photos would put Bale at 6', Yelchin at 5'9 and Worthington at 5'7.

I'm as shocked as anybody else. They really did make him look like a big guy in Terminator. I think Rob is probably right to err on the side of caution for now, though I'd take the middle ground of 5'8. Worthington's going to become a big star, so we'll soon have more photos to get a more substantial answer.

Yes, we know Bale is taller than Worthington, we have all seen the pics aswell, but the size of Worthington's boots plus the difference beteeen him and Bale point to lower than 5.10 for Worthington.

Bale is contracted to three Batman films. The chances of him not doing the role are next to non existent. He would be sued by everyone and anyone who have a vested interest in him reprising the role. He has stated he wants Nolan to direct but he has no real say. The studio might want to think about keeping him happy for marketing purposes but he is 100% committed to a third film.

I saw a photo Sam Worthington standing next to Christian Bale at the premiere of
Terminator Salvation. Bale was clearly taller than Worthington. My guess is that he is 5'10" tall. I heard a rumor that he might replace Bale in the sequel to the Dark Knight. I really hope not, Bale really fits the Batman character better than any actor out there. He did to Batman what Christopher Reeve did to Superman.

I am confused. How does this pic show Bale's height? Height is relative. We are debating Worthington's height and so any 'proof' is transient and open to change. If we accept Worthington is around 5.9, then Bale is around 6 foot. If you are stating that Bale is below 5.11 then Worthington becomes 5.8 and below.

Those boots are huge!!! That chunky look is soo 3rd Quarter 99.... Nobody is wearing that look right now ( except sammy the bull).... especially with a suit that has tappered legs... he wears huge boots, but nobody and i mean nobody can challenge robert downey jr. for biggest footwear. whether it be the stripper heels, the 2 inch lifts/sneaker combo or the chunky platforms, downey jr. will always wear the biggest shoes.

anyway my first guess on worthington is 5-8. even with boots he was atleast 5 inches shorter than 6-2 james cameron who was wearing dress shoes. with big boots he looked possibly 3 inches shorter than 6-0 christian bale. he can pass for this 5-9 listing if you ignore his boots.

Since he has only been around since 2000, there is just not a lot of photos of him. The more I look at the existing pics, the smaller he gets.

His shoes are enormous. He may be another Robert Downey Jr. He might be closer to 5-7. Time will tell.

I was just looking at the pics of the Terminator premiere and even with the boots he is still shorter than Anton who is billed as only 5’9 and a lot shorter than McG and Bale. I would go with a range of 5’7 to 5’8. Look at Bryce Dallas Howard in those pics she’s 5’8 and has on at least 3 inch heels making her like 5’11 and she’s taller than him by an inch or two.
