I sincerely doubt that he was standing on a box. if he was standing on his tip toes it would be apparent. Taker stands very still. their looks to be about two inches of height between them. Taker's eye level looks to be the same as it was in the video from IYH 5 where they had the staredown backstage

Sid would also have been cool in a sword and sorcery flick, like Conan. Actually, my favorite fantasy books featuring two main characters, and the other one is Sid. (the first one is Stallone). I read the books and then somehow searched who would fit the role. The first character was easily found, the second took a while. I thought about Lundgren... na. Möller... na.
Sid is perfect.
AFAIK though the books are only printed in german.

The problem is vegas there isnt a full on shot of taker and Nash in a stare down while in ring, this is because WWF billed taker way too high and then when Nash/Diesel was fueding with Taker he looked much bigger.
I dont need a stare down between say Khali and Festus to know Khali has several inches on him.
The same can be said with Nash and Taker. Nash comfortably was taller and bigger than Taker and Sid, and he man handled them in the ring like they were much smaller men. Vegas says on 25/Feb/10

The photo's comparing Andre/Sid are very interesting.
Sid was a solid 6"6 back in those days. Andre isn't looking much over 6"9 in 1987 - even in good posture.
He was about 6"10.5 possibly 6"11 at his tallest, and lost an inch or so through bad posture towards the end of his life, I would guess he was somewhere between 6"9 and 6"10 at his death, remember he would have been lying down on any post mortem exam which makes you a little taller than when standing up, a 6"9.75 death figure floating around makes sense.
I think a peak 6"9.5 Kevin Nash would have been eye to eye with Andre from 1985 onwards, he had 2.5" on Sid in the 90's.
Remember that a peak 1978 Andre had no more than 5" on a 6"6 MAX Hulk Hogan. And Andre was in cowboys.
I've got nothing against Andre, but he wasn't as tall as people think. He never saw the other side of 7"0, which someone like Big Show probably has (out of bed possibly he definately has no doubt.) Mamun says on 4/Feb/10

deal with our good friend Paul Weght ! In that interview with Gene , Paul
looks to be a good 7' 4" giant when you use Gene as reference ! Now one
word proves he is not even anywhere close to that . That word is Shaq !
The whole world saw and there is nothing to argue about it too that a
7 ' Shaq had at least 1.5 " when they faced off . Even Shaq's 7' 1" listing
is up for debate ! If Shaq was a barefoot 7' 1" then why did an old 7' 2"
Kareem and even wilt have more than an inch on him . Your not going to say
Paul has lost height since his WCW days . Becuase Paul is still a young man
and his not even 40 yet ! What about that picture with UBG ? You can all see
that UBG is not taller than SID in my picture yet he looked only 2 inchs
shorter than Paul in their picture together . Adding to all that is my own
close encounter with Paul on Monday night Raw in LA on the 27th May 2009 !

Mamun, this is Big Show (1996) with Mean Gene in front of a live crowd at Sturgis, so he’s not going to be standing on any box a la Andre. Click Here Just look at the gap between the top of Gene’s head and the bottom of Big Show’s chin (and he has at least a 12 inch long head) and compare that with any video of Gene with other wrestlers (Sid, Andre, Hogan….) Back then, Big Show walked around like Khali does now.

Yes , you are right ! I should be careful for what I wish for ! Having
Sid being drawfed that much wasn't what I had in mind . But here are some
points I would like to clear-up ; .....
1) In that Andre/Sid comparison picture , Bruno is at least 2.5 inchs
shorter than he was in the Andre's picture . There is a 22 year gap .
Andre/Bruno picture was dated 1976 & Sid/Bruno I remember is from a
1998 magazine . So in that picture Bruno was way older than 60 ! I
am not saying that there is anything wrong with your work . It's just
that time factor should have been taken into consideration !
2) That Big Show/Bruno and Sid/Bruno is way unbelievable ! I mean if Sid
is at least 6' 7" than you have Big Show towering at 7' 4" ?????? I see
7 inchs there ? Again I am not saying there is something wrong with your
work . The only logical explanation is the lifts Big Show wears or used
to wear during his WCW days . We all know that Paul is not and I say it
again is not 7'4" ? He is not even a solid seven feet !
3) Thanks for posting them new Sid pictures .Like I had stated earlier,

between Wadlow/Channa using the photos I had provided and a comparison
between Gabrial/Channa also using the photos I had provied . How about
doing a photo of Wadlow/Channa using me as reference . The Satue of
Wadlow with me stood 9' 1" taking into account his shoes . And for the
channa/Gabriel picture , they both seem to have the same footwear on and
Channa was once measure at 7' 10" in August of 1985 by GWR with his
shoes on . Lets see your master art work once more JT if your into it .

However, Sid is not standing as tall as he could with Bruno. What does not surprise me is that his inseam is probably as long as Andre’s and Big Show’s.
I’ve done comparisons in the past using a constant (e.g., Hogan, Mean Gene, Vince), with Sid usually looking within 3 inches of a mid to late 1980s Andre.

I do know what you mean about some luger and bulldog shots, ive just had a look at a few and bulldog always has his head up tall and luger always seems to look down a little.. I put it at 5 inches max... But its always hard to tell.
NFL listings for height dont always seem accurate, and a strong 6'3 could be 6'4..

Why would i try and big up someones height or put it down? i say what i see and its much easier to go with peoples opinions. I have been swayed on here by evidence before but thers no real photo evidence to suggest to me that luger is below 6'4 and when i met him he looked 6'4..

There is alot of varied opinions about luger and stings heights but anyone whos stood next to these 2 will tell you they arent short.
I stood ringside at a wwa show in 03 and gave sting a sweet high 5 and if i had to say i would have said 6'2.. He was alot thinner than i imagined (looked 220ish) but he was also tall..
Sting looked roughly the same height as hogan in 2000..
I always thought sid was his billed 6'8 and when he stood eye to eye with taker i thought they where both 6'8 (i couldnt see much in it myself)
Knowing what i know now id say
6'7 sid
6'7.5 taker
6'4 luger
6'2-6'2.5 sting
And before i get called out for bigging up wrestler heights there are LOTS of wrestlers who i think are shorter than their billed heights.

Andre did a great job in The Princess Bride. Piper was good in "They Live" though that fight sequence with Keith David dragged on a bit too long:) It was obviously a low budget film but one that I usually end up watching whenever it's on TV.
Any movie involving Sid or even Hogan has "straight to video" written all over it. Hogan's movie/TV career peaked with his first film (Rocky III), and it's been all downhill since. The Ben says on 11/Jan/10

Yeah, I was a big MOTU fan and when I saw Sid for the first time (WWF 1991) I thought this man would be perfect as He-Man actor.

Sid easily has Hogan by 2 inches, if not 3 inches. Rob having Sid at 6ft 6.5 on this page makes a peak hogan about 6'4 which is way off the mark. If Hogan was 6'6 peak as per Rob, Sid is 6'8.5 in shoes.
In the photo with Mamum, Sid is easily a foot taller if not more. Peak Sid 6'7.5 barefoot. Peak hogan 6'5.5. Mamun says on 14/Nov/09

Here's an exercise Red; if you have a tape measurer, stand in a kind of hunch, head forward, shoulders bent, and see how you measure. Now, go ram rod straight, and see how much taller you are.
Sid ALWAYS stood ramrod straight, in addition to the slight boot advantage. Taker almost always with about a 15 degree hunch at the neck. Taker still comes out a half an inch or more taller with this. In the few instances Taker stood straight up next to Sid, like the picture I posted, he was at least an inch taller than Sid.

I think Taker was really a good inch taller. Undertaker I believe was about 6'8 1/2-3/4 many years ago. Stacked up well against 6'10 1/2 Nash. Others I know will disagree. Frank said he saw Sid in normal clothes and said he didn't seem quite as tall as he expected. Frank also met UT in person and UT told him he was 6'9 and did look as tall. I don't know why poor old Sid gets downgraded. He was about 6'7.5 at one time. People have been speculating on the Hogan thread that Hogan was 6'7 prime or so in boots and Sid had at least 1.5in on Hogan. It is generally agreed that Nash was at least 6'10 and probably 6'10.5 prime. Here is Sid squaring off against Nash and look 3in less with similar boots. 6.7.5 seems right. I bet he is 6'7 nowadays.
