Met him a while back at forbidden planet in london. He's a no frills 5'8.5" i'd say. No frills - meaning he didn't make an attempt to wear lifts unlike Cruise in those pics posted by MD. He wore skate shoes and was really pleasant.

Rob in mi4 in walking scène in the Kremlin Cruise looks a Good 2.5cm shorter if Simon is 5'8.75 in Cruise isnt over 5'7.75 , if pegg is 174 then Cruise could be 5'7.5
[Editor Rob: I think Pegg has a higher eyelevel than average, which is an advantage to looking taller.] John b says on 4/Jan/12
Watched mission impossible to day and Tom Cruse always looked a good inch taller then Pegg, it did get me thinking how tall is he really? As Tom is noted on this site under 5'8 think a bit more investigating Editor on Simon Peggs bight is called for ??? Bryan says on 3/Jan/12
Anyone who's watched the latest Mission Impossible will say that Simon Pegg was around 2 inches taller than Tom Cruise during the Kremlin scenes. MD says on 27/Dec/11
Rob,
Sorry to keep posting on this, but I just finished watching Mission Impossibl: Ghost Protocol, which in the main cast included Pegg, Tom Cruise (5'7.75"), and Jeremy Renner (5'8.5") for the guys. Now, I know a movie is far from the best place to judge the heights of actors, but there was not more than a quarter inch difference between the whole three the entire movie. I'm convinced they are all generally around 5'8". Pegg was the shortest of the three.
Apart from the actual movie, here they are at premieres for the movie, this month:

Again, Rob, I can assure you that Pegg isn't taller than 5'8", and most likely nothing more than 5'7.5" If I were you, I'd not list him any taller than 5'8". Bakura says on 26/Dec/11
Looked an inch taller than Cruise in Ghost Protocol. Paul says on 21/Dec/11
The difference between wearing my hiking boots and my tennis shoes is an inch.. Unless they are barefoot, their heights will always be questionable.. MD says on 19/Dec/11
Rob,
Thanks for getting it closer, but Daniel Craig, aside, he's still only marginally taller than 5'7" Jamie Bell, like half-an-inch, at the most, wouldn't you agree? I don't know; he routinely looks between 5'7" and 5'8", to me, as opposed to looking between 5'8" and 5'9".
[Editor Rob: in some photos he might look 1/2 inch taller, but in others I think he can look at least an inch taller.

Rob,
With 5'10"ish Daniel Craig and however tall Jamie Bell is, now:

Craig nearly towers Pegg, and the footwear for all of them doesn't explain the height difference. Honestly, what's the difference in those pictures? Like a full three inches?
[Editor Rob: Craig has managed to look tall, as he's done with a few in the last year with a few people. I think he has a bit of camera help there though.
Pegg could very well be similar to one of the guys in the height challenge I measured, from my perspective on seeing him his eyelevel could make him look taller, but as with the guy in the challenge he turned out to be 5ft 8.5 on the stadiometer.
putting pegg fraction shy of 5ft 9 is most likely getting nearer.] Anshelm says on 15/Dec/11

Simon is somewhere between 173 and 175cm, apparently. johno says on 30/Oct/11
174cm sounds about right. He was slightly shorter then 5'9 alan carr DrJJ says on 28/Aug/11
Saw him waljing down Oxford Street a couple of years ago. Same height as myself. 5'8". Adamz says on 24/Aug/11
Pegg is taller than that, Phillip... Come on, Rob has said he was at least as tall as himself when they shook hands in 2006. That makes Pegg at least 68 inches. Philip says on 27/Jul/11
Kristen Wiig is 5'5", he was about 2.5" taller than her. Pegg is slightly over 5'7". jessiepoo says on 14/Feb/11

In Black Books, he's a bit shorter than Bill Bailey--and as far as I know, Bill's only about 5'7". I met Mister Pegg as an extra, and he was tiny. I'm 5'11" . |
