Sydney Pollack's Height

American director and actor best remembered for films such as Out of Africa, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, The Firm, Jeremiah Johnson, Three Days of the Condor, Michael Clayton, Eyes Wide Shut and Tootsie. The NY Times once described him as "almost 6 feet 2 inches tall".

Everybody wants to know how tall Redford is...What's it all about? All I know is that he's one-half inch shorter than me. I'm 6-feet even.

Rob, he must had had experienced a serious height loss. He looked only a couple of inches taller than Tom Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut.

Editor Rob Giorgi, he could look at most 5ft 11, maybe under, but Tom could look 5ft 8-8.5 in that film.

He was five inches shorter than 6-3 Brian Aherne in the Twilight Zone episode The Trouble With Templeton. I seriously doubt Pollack was six feet.

Did look 6 ft peak, but by 2000s I reckon nearer 5 ft 11.

Thanks Rob, can you squeeze in Eyes Wide Shut, The Way We Were, Three Days of the Condor, and Michael Clayton? He made some terrific films in the 70s in particular with Robert Redford.
