I used to have some fun with the other guys at military school when I was teeenager. I noticed that all the guys who were maybe 5'10" claimed to be six feet. I was 6'2" then but I claimed to be only 5'10". Guys who were four inches shorter became uncomfortable looking up at me - someone who was supposed to be two inches shorter.

Maybe this is what Tim Tigott-Smith is doing.

It is interesting that this noticably tall actor referss to himself as "6ft". I always thought he must be 6'2" or thereabouts in relation to other Actors who claim 5'10" in films they have been in together.

Harry Hamlyn in 'Clash of the Titans' springs to mind...
