No, no, no, Carlos. Tom is never 5'7 nowadays. Though wearing big heeled shoes on stage, he is at least 5'9-5'9.25 (175-176cm). No doubt about that. The above picture was taken in 2004, so it's been almost 6 years. And Tom is going to be 70 in 2010, so he could have shrank from 178-179 in his prime to 175-176 nowadays. He has a very, very big frame, broad shoulders, big hands.. Normally people with his frame are those 6 ft types.

Then you reckon wrong, "Carlos." Even in the above photo with 5'10 Marcos, Tom appears slightly taller than him...assuming the grass was even, which it might not be. If he were 5'7 then he would be at just above Marco's eyebrows. He skied over Bobby Darin and Tony Bennett on This is Tom Jones and was only 1-inch shorter than Rich Little and Stevie Wonder. In both of those scenes Tom wears loafers. In the scene with Bobby Darin, both Tom and Bobby were wearing the same large heels and he was 3.5-4 inches taller. Mind you I don't believe the 5'9 claim of Bobby Darin. He was more like 5'7 and wore lifts. Because Tom and he were both wearing the same heels, either Jones was 6ft which we know wasn't the case or he was 5'10.5-5'11 with Darin 5'7. Carlos says on 14/Nov/09

Elvis was just a shade under 6' and if you look at different photos of Elvis standing next to Tom Jones, Elvis appears to be about 1.5 inches taller than Tom, but rumors have flown around for years that Tom wore 1" lifts in his shoes so my guess is that Tom Jones is 5'9.5" barefoot. mcfan says on 22/Apr/09
I'm well aware he wore heels on This Is Tom Jones. However, when he was with Stevie Wonder, he was wearing regular dress shoes. Also, with Rich Little...regular dress shoes. He did not always wear the large heels in every episode. If he wasn't 5'11, he was darn close to it. I keep referencing the 1966 Awards Ceremony. There was a quick film clip of that with Dusty and Macca and it used to be on the internet. Paul wears regular dress shoes and Tom stilettos, but even with the 1-inch height advantage from the shoes, he is still 2 inches taller than 24-year-old 5'10 Paul McCartney. If he is only 5'10.5 that would make Paul only 5'9.5, which I'm sure he is now, but back then he was 5'10. Hahahahaha ! 5'6 for Tom Jones ? Means I'm 5'6 as well... As we are the same height (met him 3 times). He might be at 177cm now (5'9.5"), but NEVER the 7-9cms shorter. When he wore those Beatle-Boots in the end-sixties, he appeared as a 182cm-guy. And remember, he has a big frame, ong larms etc... His frame is of a six foot guy, that happens to be a stretching 5'10.

You guys are way off on this..lol Take a look at some of the clips from his old tv show in the late 60's-early 70's. He wore shoes with what they used to call "elevator heels". They were AT LEAST 3 inches high, and he was barely as tall as most of the female guests. Most people have said over the years that he's right around 5'6" to 5'7". Tom Jones was definitely taller than Joss Stone. There was one camera angle, where she seemed taller than him, but you know, angles... (look at Rob's comment about angles)
Joss Stone is a full 178cm (5'10), and Tom was a bid taller than her.
Tom without shoes = 177-178cm + big heeled-shoes = 3cm-4cm (1.5 inches) taller than Joss. Dear Rut, take a closer look to the pics (Getty images). Tom is taller than Joss.

Ok, Peak height (maybe??) five ten and a half..now seeing him yesterday besides Joss Stone, who appeared barefooted about two cm atleast taller him, making Jones about 175cm+ with shoes on, so possible..(who knows?) 173, 174 cm barefooted..
If that isn't solid proof he is five nine max now,, I dont know anymore..

He always looked between 1.5 and 2 inches shorter than Elvis and most certainly was shorter as there was an issue where his manager wanted to vet the photos they had taken together to remove those that clearly showed Elvis was taller. Glenn, let's not forget Jones is an old man and has been an old man for quite a while so he's probably shrunk an inch or so. I used to watch his show when I was little and he appeared 5'11 to me. He's got a large head so he appears shorter than what he is. He used to wear some ridiculous heels on his show, but he didn't wear them all of the time. I had lunch with Tom Jones at an Italian restaurant in a ski resort. He was seated and at times pulled out an acoustic guitar to play and sing. I have met Cerys Matthews many times who Tom duetted with on the Reload album and promo video, she is 5'2.05 and wears heels all the time. I haven't checked any photos of the two together so I am prepared to either be validated or shot down in flames. Perhaps the editor can arbitrate and confirm!

Carlton's height ? Alfonso Ribeiro (who playes Carlton) is about 5'5" - 5'6" max. And Tom towered over him.

In his early years (60s and 70s) Tom was wearing high-heeled shoes/boots to appear taller. Back then he was about 5'10.5" 179cm, with this shoes/boots he looked more like just over 6'0" (183cm). But nowadays he wears normal 1.5 inches-heeled shoes. And when I met him in Hamburg during a radio-station-promo in 2003, he really never was 5'8.5".
5'10" is pretty accurate.
By the way, no wonder Will Smith was much taller than Tom... Will is a tall guy (188cm-189cm) and he towers almost any actor he plays with.

He used to get listed 5'9'' in his old official website back in 97 or something...cause I remember that his album was pretty damn popular in Finland during that era and checked his info from that site...He was also hanging out with some famous Finnish chicks while performing in Helsinki and looked 5'9'' not taller + U never know the truth about his shoes...I think he would love to be 5'10.5'', but I think that is little bit of stretching the truth...I have find some pics...Keep on Rocking Rob!!!
