Marco, that's not the case in this episode. They are just loafers. Tom wore loafers and cuban heels during the same show. Usually in the concert portions, he wore the heels. I think in the above photo he and yourself are the same height, but we're also talking about a man that was what 65? when the photo was taken. He could have lost an inch. Marco says on 5/Sep/11

I only saw an inch difference with Stevie Wonder and Tom Jones and they were both wearing the same type of shoes on his show whereas Paul McCartney looked two inches shorter than Stevie. Marco says on 31/May/11
No, no.. Tom wasn't 5'11. He was at best 5'10.5", as he stated by himself, but I think he added .5 inches.
Must be 5'9.5" (177, or 176cm) now.

That would mean, that me / I (being the guy with that stupid grin on his face in the picture above) am 5'7 as well. But I am 5'10 morning height and Tom is below 5'10 today, but above 5'9. NEVER 5'7. He (wearing 1 inch higher heels than Ronan) towered over 5'8 Ronan Keating at the Guinness Celebration 2009.

Lots of women don't judge heights well. Maybe it's because of heels or they just don't pay close attention. Janis looked half a foot shorter than Tom if you take into account her heels. Tom looked 2 inches taller than Joe Cocker as well. MHouillon says on 30/Dec/10

Janis : 5'5 (165cm). In the "Raise your hand" video (1969) of both of'em, Tom wears 2 inch heels, Janis 4 inch heels. And Tom is still 3 inches taller than her.
