Tommy Lee was a very strong 6ft dude in his day, 183.5-184cm zone and easily hit 6ft1 first thing in the morning. I think Dmeyer has a point, taller than Hanks at the Oscars and could look similar to Costner in JFK.
We shouldn’t discount the full 6ft0½ as a possible peak.

I'd peg Tommy Lee Jones at 6', he edged Tom Sizemore by an inch, who was close to 5'11" back in the day & was slightly taller than Javier Bardem, also listed at 5'11", based on that six foot even would seem pretty accurate.

TLJ, at least to me, is one of those guys that, in his own right, doesn't give off as tall an impression as he actually is. Perhaps because his head is bit larger than average and his build is pretty solid. Measure him up though against other celebs of reasonably understood height and he reconciles to a shade over 6 feet pretty much every time. Another + 1/4" is not impossible for 6'1/2" but 6'1/4" seems good.
He seems like one of those celebs who presents as a very reliable measuring stick to judge other celebs by.
Some interviews, TLJ comes across a bit surly and reticent, like his character Agent K in MIB. Art imitating life? Very economical in his responses and seems he doesn't suffer fools gladly. Whatever he does say makes simple sense and I always had the impression that he that he is probably very intelligent and more footloose and fancy free than he lets on. Internet credits him with an IQ of 135 - can't vouch for its veracity though.

IMO in 1997 TLJ was still a flat 6'0" guy (is what he did look at times next to a 6'1.25-1.5" Will Smith). Considering he was at the beginning of 50s in the last years of 1990s, there's a good chance he has still lost just a small amount from his peak height so 6'0.25" as peak is legitimate!
Today 5'11.5" is fair because a shrinkage of 2 cms at almost 70 years old is normal!

IMO in 1997 TLJ was still a flat 6'0" guy (is what he did look at times next to a 6'1.25-1.5" Will Smith). Considering he was at the beginning of 50s in the last years of 1990s, there's a good chance he has still lost just a small amount from his peak height so 6'0.25" as peak is legitimate!
Today 5'11.5" is fair because a shrinkage of 2 cms at almost 70 years old is normal!

I think that there were 3 solids cms between TLJ and WS. If tommy was 182 cms as a lots of people there say, then will can't be taller than a flat 6'1" and actually i don't think so.

I'm 5'10 in my shoes and just saw him. He has 2-3 inches on me(couldnt get close enough to get more accurate) in a cowboy boot with a work heel.(little over a inch). So I would say barefoot he is 5'11"-5'11.5".

No on TLJ and BDT. Tommy Lee Jones was 6' and change at peak, and he looked this as recently as 2007 in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. As for BDT, there are so many people who just don't believe him to be tall--the guy slouches quite a bit, but when he stands with good posture, it's beyond clear just how tall he is.
BDT: minimum 6'2".

No on TLJ and BDT. Tommy Lee Jones was 6' and change at peak, and he looked this as recently as 2007 in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. As for BDT, there are so many people who just don't believe him to be tall--the guy slouches quite a bit, but when he stands with good posture, it's beyond clear just how tall he is.
BDT: minimum 6'2".
TLJ: peak 6' 1/2" as per Rob's listing; today, 6'0" for most of the day.

Due to the fact that he has great posture, he can pull off looking 6'1 in his younger days. He did looked the same height as Clint Eastwood 12 years ago. He was probably 184cm during that time. Nowadays, he can still look 6 foot but there is more of a chance that he is slightly under this mark.

I have to say he doesn't look a full 6' to me. Had a max of 2 inches over 5' 9.5 Connie Nielsen in William Friedkin's The Hunted. In my opinion, at 64-65, he's 5' 11.5 (182 cm). He was 6' or potentially pushing 184 cm at peak.

Hes no more than 6 feet nowadays.looked 1.5 inches taller thna james franco.no more though. Also in 2002 men in black 2 looked half an inch under will smith. So I think will smith is still 6'1,not 6'2 as he claims.and I guess tommy lee lost half an inch in the last 5 years.maybe.

In certain shots he looked tall enough, but in others rather average. On another note man has he aged in the last few years. He's always had a craggy face, but he really looks to be in his upper 60's-early 70's, as opposed to his real age of 61.

No way is Tommy Lee Jones over 6'. If you look at Under Siege, Gary Busey (6')has an inch on him and TLJ is wearing cowboy boots. I'd give him 5'10.5". This makes sense cos Will Smith in Men in Black was 2" taller than him and I peg Will Smith at 6'0.5" as many do.

Tommy Lee is shorter in person than he looks on camera. I stood only a few feet away from him when at Fox studios they were shooting a scene for the film Volcano. I always thought he was at least 6'2". He appeared to be roughly 6'. But he has hands like a gorilla! I mean they're the largest I've ever seen on a man of normal size.
